LOBOO motorcycle auxiliary lights: the range available on Endurrad

Eight models of LED auxiliary lights, with controllers, mounts, and brackets from the same range. Specifications taken from the technical data sheets, approvals checked against certificates including test reports: anything that is not documented is not stated here.

In brief. LOBOO motorcycle auxiliary lights are LED auxiliary lamps that work alongside the original headlight to increase the light available in front of and beside the vehicle. Eight models are available on Endurrad: L7S, L7 for CFMOTO 800MT, L7 for VOGE, L7X, L11, L12T, L16, and L18S.

Approval. Seven of the eight models are approved under ECE R149.00, with both low beam and high beam approved: Class C for the L7S, its two dedicated versions L7, and the L12T; Class B for right-hand traffic for the L11, L16, and L18S. No ECE approval is available for the L7X.

The controller is always included. Every LOBOO light comes with its own controller and wiring harness. The LC081 CAN-Bus controller and the clutch lever with switch are control alternatives, not missing components.

LOBOO motorcycle auxiliary lights: what they are and what they are for

An auxiliary light is an additional lighting device mounted on the handlebar, crash bars, or dedicated brackets, which works together with the motorcycle's main headlight. It does not replace it; it extends its coverage.

The difference compared with the main lighting is functional. The original headlight illuminates the carriageway within the photometric limits required for the motorcycle's approval. Auxiliary lights can widen the illuminated area laterally or increase throw distance, depending on the optics of the chosen model.

For Adventure and Touring use, this translates into two different needs. On unlit country roads and off-road surfaces, where the road edges and lateral obstacles matter as much as the road ahead, a wider beam makes it easier to read the route. On long stretches, range is what matters instead.

This is why different models exist: they vary in optics, declared luminous flux, power consumption, approval class, and control system. There is no single best model; the right choice is the one suited to the predominant use and the motorcycle's electrical-system capacity.

The controller is always included. All LOBOO auxiliary lights are supplied with their own controller and wiring: on most models, this is the aluminum alloy ring installed near the clutch control; on the versions dedicated to CFMOTO and VOGE, it is the switch supplied in the kit and connected to the original fog-light circuit. Nothing else needs to be purchased to switch on and adjust the lights.

LOBOO L16 ECE R149 Class B-approved motorcycle auxiliary lights, a pair producing 19,000 lumens

LOBOO L16

Approved under ECE R149.00 Class B for right-hand traffic, certified under E57*149R00/06*1187 dated June 19, 2024, and extended to the L16T, L16Pro, L16S, L16Q, and L16K variants. It is the first of the two models in the range whose color temperature is adjusted electronically using the ring, from 6000K white to 3000K yellow, without a lens cover. Five LEDs per light. Low beam from 5,000 to 16,800 lumens, up to 19,000 lumens with both beams active; power consumption ranges from 50 to 168 W on low beam and from 58 to 190 W with both beams. IP68, CNC-machined body, glass lens, diameter 97.9 mm. Bracket compatible with 22, 25, 28, 32, and 38 mm tubes.

The model with the highest declared luminous flux in the range. Certified under E57*149R00/08*1206 dated February 26, 2025, UN Regulation R149.00 Class B for right-hand traffic, extended to the L18, L18Pro, L18Q, and L18D variants and applicable to vehicle categories L, M, N, and O. Six LEDs per light and a cup reflector, with a low beam from 5,000 to 16,500 lumens and up to 21,000 lumens with both beams. Power consumption ranges from 50 to 165 W on low beam and from 65 to 210 W with both beams: the highest electrical load in the range. Color temperature varies from 3000K to 6000K across eight levels using the same ring. IP68, glass lens, diameter 108.4 mm, depth 86.5 mm, height 154.8 mm with bracket.

How to read this table. The luminous flux values are those declared by the manufacturer and refer to the pair of lights, not a single unit. The most useful figure when purchasing is not the number of lumens but the power draw: it must remain within your motorcycle's electrical system margin.

LOBOO auxiliary light type approvals and certificates

LOBOO certificates are issued by the Type Approval Authority of the Republic of San Marino, based on photometric tests conducted by the Automotive Technical Service. Each PDF downloadable from the product pages contains the certificate, test report, and information folder for the type.

How to read them

  • The number. E57 indicates San Marino as the country that issued the type approval, 149R00 the UN Regulation R149 in series 00, and the final number is the sequential number.
  • The class. Class B and Class C are classes under Regulation R149 with different photometric requirements for the low beam. RHT indicates right-hand traffic.
  • The variants. A certificate covers the type and the listed variants, not similar models. Therefore, although the L7X resembles the L7S, it is not covered by its certificate.
  • The marking. The certification number is stamped on the light housing: this is the physical verification that the part corresponds to the certificate.

A note on the L11 and L16 certificates. A reference to Regulation R10.06 appears on the first page of both, concerning electromagnetic compatibility. The rest of the document contradicts this: the number is that of an R149 certification, the attached test report contains compliant photometric measurements for dipped and main beam according to Regulation R149.00, and the information dossier identifies the type as an R149.00 Class B RHT projector. It is a form inconsistency, not an issue with the certification.

Certification concerns the device. The conditions for installation and use on the vehicle remain subject to the Highway Code.

How to choose LOBOO motorcycle auxiliary lights

Five elements determine which model is suitable for a specific motorcycle.

01 · Use

Primary use

Extra-urban night riding, off-road riding, or mixed use with frequent foggy and rainy conditions. The models with variable color temperature, the L16 and L18S, are the only ones in the range that let you switch to yellow without stopping to fit a lens cover.

02 · Electrical

Electrical system headroom

This is the most underestimated constraint. Consumption with both beams active ranges from 120 W for the L7X to 210 W for the L18S. If the motorcycle already has heated grips, a heated jacket, or other permanent loads installed, the total must be compared with the alternator's capacity.

03 · Mechanics

Mounting point

The supplied collars generally fit 22, 25, and 28 mm tubes; 32 and 38 mm collars are accessories sold separately. The diameter must be measured at the exact point where you intend to mount the light, not generically on the handlebar.

04 · Control

Control system

The control is always included with the light. What changes is the format: an aluminum dial on the clutch control on most models, or a switch paired with the original fog light on dedicated versions. Alternatively, you can use a clutch lever with an integrated switch or the CAN-Bus controller that uses the original BMW wheel.

05 · Regulations

Certification

If you use them on public roads, choose a model with ECE R149 certification: all models in the range have it except the L7X. The class, B or C, is indicated on the certificate and in the accompanying information dossier.

LOBOO lights for Adventure and Touring motorcycles

Adventure and Touring motorcycles regularly travel sections without street lighting: mountain roads, rural highways, tracks, and unpaved roads. In these settings, supplementary lighting addresses a coverage problem, not power for its own sake.

Beam type matters more than lumen count. A low beam with a defined cutoff line illuminates the road edges without rising into the field of view of oncoming traffic; a high-intensity high beam extends the range on dark straight roads. LOBOO dual-beam models integrate both functions into a single housing, with the option to reduce intensity instead of switching off when following another vehicle or passing through a built-up area.

Mechanically, motorcycles in this category generally offer engine guards and crash bars that are already available mounting points, with diameters compatible with LOBOO clamps. Those without bars can opt for the dedicated brackets described below.

Specific brackets are available for the most popular bikes in the Adventure segment, allowing the spotlights to be mounted in position without using clamps on the bars.

Some LOBOO crash bars already have mounting points for spotlights: the CHG37 for Honda Forza 350 includes the brackets, while the CHG34 for Honda Gold Wing has integrated mounting points.

LOBOO auxiliary light compatibility with the motorcycle

The compatibility of an auxiliary light cannot be determined from the motorcycle's make alone. A universal light is compatible with the 12 V electrical system of any motorcycle, but mounting depends on factors that can vary even within the same model.

  • Make, model, year, and version of the motorcycle. Model years differ in their mounting points and, on BMW motorcycles, in the connector required by the CAN bus controller.
  • Tube diameter at the exact mounting point. The included clamps generally fit 22, 25, and 28 mm; dedicated clamps sold separately are required for 32 and 38 mm.
  • Presence of crash bars or engine protection bars and their cross-section. These are the most common mounting points for auxiliary lights.
  • Supports and brackets already installed, which may occupy the intended space or change the available orientation.
  • Electrical system and available power margin relative to the existing loads.
  • Presence of a CAN bus and the connector type, if you intend to control the lights using the original wheel.
  • Accessories already installed near the selected mounting point: hand guards, headlight protectors, GPS brackets.

What is the difference between Class B and Class C?

They are classes under UN Regulation R149 with different photometric requirements for the dipped beam. In the LOBOO range covered by Endurrad, the L7S, L7-800MT, L7-DS525X and L12T are Class C; the L11, L16 and L18S are Class B RHT, meaning for right-hand traffic. The class and certificate number are shown in the PDF downloadable from the product page.

Why does the L11 and L16 certificate cite Regulation R10.06?

The first page of both certificates contains a reference to Regulation R10.06 on electromagnetic compatibility, which is inconsistent with the rest of the document. The approval number corresponds to an R149 approval, the attached test report includes compliant photometric measurements for the dipped and main beams according to Regulation R149.00, and the information file identifies the type as an R149.00 Class B RHT projector.

How do you choose LOBOO auxiliary lights for your motorcycle?

How many watts do LOBOO auxiliary lights draw?

On low beam, power ranges from 25–80 W for the L11 to 50–168 W for the L16; with both beams active, it ranges from the L7X’s maximum 120 W to 150 W for the L7S, L11, and L12T, 190 W for the L16, and up to 210 W for the L18S. This is the figure to compare with the motorcycle’s available electrical-system capacity, especially when other permanent loads are present.

Is the yellow lens cover included?

On the L7S, L7 dedicated versions, and L12T models, the yellow lens cover is included and removable, allowing you to switch from white to 3000K yellow light. The L16 and L18S models do not use a lens cover: the color temperature is adjusted electronically using the dial, from 3000K to 6000K.

Are there dedicated LOBOO brackets for my motorcycle?

Yes, for several adventure motorcycles: CDJ131A brackets for the BMW R 1300 GS, CDJ082C mounts, CDJ082B brackets, and mount with spacers for the BMW R 1200 and R 1250 GS Adventure, CDZJ251 bracket for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R, and CWJ221 bracket for the KTM 790 Adventure. The LOBOO CHG37 crash bars for the Honda Forza 350 and CHG34 for the Honda Gold Wing already include mounting points for the auxiliary lights.
