The Gold Wing’s six-cylinder boxer engine is its defining character, but it is also the widest part of the motorcycle: in a stationary fall or while maneuvering, the cylinder heads make contact first. Replacing one costs more than this engine guard.

The LOBOO CHG34 crash bar is a pair of lower bars, right and left, that act as a sacrificial cage in front of the engine: they absorb the impact energy instead of the engine covers and front fairings. LOBOO specifies high-strength steel tubing and clean welds, which are the truly critical points on a protection bar.

The difference compared with a generic engine guard lies in the auxiliary-light mounts built directly into the bars: you can install fog lights with an original-equipment look, without additional brackets or clamps that rotate around the tube.

Installation is non-destructive: LOBOO says the design is based on 3D scans of the GL1800 and attaches directly to the frame, without cutting the fairings or modifying the motorcycle’s structure. The brackets are already welded to the frame, so there are no separate plates to assemble.

Available in two finishes at the same price: silver with sandblasted electroless coating, designed to complement the Gold Wing’s exposed aluminum, or black with electrostatic paint. Auxiliary lights and wiring are not included.

LOBOO states that it developed the CHG34 using original data from the 2020 Honda Gold Wing GL1800, starting with 3D scans of the motorcycle. It is not a universal bar bent to make it fit: the holes align with the frame’s designated mounting points.

GL1800 models from before 2020 are not among those specified by the manufacturer: check the year before ordering.

The bar bolts onto the Gold Wing’s existing frame mounting points: no cutting the fairing, no modifications to the motorcycle’s structure. The manufacturer describes it as a non-destructive installation.

On a motorcycle you keep for years and then resell, it’s the difference between an accessory and a permanent modification: it can be removed without leaving a trace.

The black version is electrostatically painted and blends into the engine block; the silver version is achieved through sandblasted electrolysis and matches the exposed aluminum of the Gold Wing, including the chrome accents.

It’s the same product and costs the same; only the surface treatment differs. On a dark motorcycle, the black goes unnoticed, while on light-colored liveries, the silver looks more coherent.

La barra si imbulla direttamente al telaio sui punti già previsti: LOBOO dichiara uno sviluppo su scansioni 3D della GL1800 e un'installazione senza tagli alle carene né modifiche alla struttura.

Presenta tutte le staffe senza serrare, allinea le barre e solo dopo porta le viti in coppia: su una struttura a più attacchi è l'unico modo per non forzare i fori.

Il produttore non pubblica le coppie di serraggio per questo codice: ricontrolla il serraggio dopo le prime uscite.
