Description Approved auxiliary lights for Voge DS525X and DS900X

The LOBOO L7 kit for VOGE DS525X and DS900X is the dedicated version of the L7 auxiliary projector: the same headlight, brackets, and wiring designed based on the original motorcycle data.

ECE R149 Approved

The L7-DS525X variant falls under homologation certificate E57*149R00/06*1142, UN ECE Regulation R149.00 Class C, with both low beam and high beam approved and the mark stamped on the body.

This is the difference that matters: almost all aftermarket spotlights are sold with the clause "for off-road use only."

Dual control: original fog light switch and LOBOO switch

The fog light control already present on the motorcycle turns the lights on and off, without adding buttons to the dashboard. The LOBOO switch included in the kit attaches to the clutch lever and manages the rest: switching from low beam to high beam, flashing, and emergency mode. The connector is waterproof and detachable.

One body, three functions

  • Low beam with a sharp cut-off, which does not disturb oncoming traffic
  • High beam, over 32,500 cd of certified intensity
  • Flashing in three modes: alternating, simultaneous, and sequential

White 6000K or yellow 3000K

The yellow lens cover is supplied and removable: white for maximum output, yellow when there is fog or rain, where it reduces glare on water particles. It also protects the lens from gravel raised by the front wheel.

Construction

IP68, CNC machined aluminum alloy body — denser than die-casting and with better dissipation — smart thermal protection that reduces power if the temperature rises, and protection against reverse polarity and overvoltage.

The beam inclination can be adjusted with the headlight mounted. Luminous flux up to 15,000 lumens declared by the manufacturer, with a power consumption of 70 W in low beam and 150 W with both beams active.

Why choose it
  • Designed for the VOGE DS525X:brackets and wiring based on original motorcycle data, from 2023 onwards.
  • Controlled by the standard switch:integrates with the original fog light, no additional buttons.
  • ECE R149.00 Class C approved:both dipped and main beam approved.
  • White 6500K or yellow 3000K:removable lens cover included, which also protects against gravel.
  • IP68 and CNC aluminum:with thermal protection that reduces power if the temperature rises.
Who is it recommended for

This version or the universal L7S?

The headlight is the same and shares the homologation certificate. Brackets, wiring, and control unit differ.

  • If you have a VOGE DS525X: this version. It mounts on the designated points and is switched on by the standard fog light control.
  • If you have another motorcycle: the universal L7S, with clamp mounts from 22 to 38 mm and an eight-level bezel.

For the DS900X, please write to us with the year and trim before ordering: the technical data sheet documents the DS525X.

Documents and manufacturer

Homologation certificate

The L7-DS525X variant is covered by ECE homologation E57*149R00/06*1142, UN Regulation R149.00 Class C, issued by the San Marino Homologation Authority on January 24, 2024. E57 149R-001142 mark stamped on the headlamp body.

Installation

  • The connection uses the original motorcycle fog light circuit via a dedicated waterproof connector.
  • Adjust the beam inclination so that it does not dazzle oncoming traffic: this is the most important check and the most often skipped.
  • Homologation applies to the device. Installation and use conditions on the vehicle remain subject to the Highway Code.

How does it work, in detail?

Designed based on VOGE data

Designed based on VOGE data

It is not an adapted universal headlight: the brackets, positioning, and wiring are designed based on the original specifications of the VOGE DS525X from 2023 onward.

It mounts where the manufacturer provided the mounting points, without adapter brackets or having to settle for a compromise position.

Controlled by the original switch

Controlled by the original switch

It is the most important difference compared with the universal version: the kit integrates with the fog light switch already present on the motorcycle.

No additional switch to mount on the handlebars, no button to search for while riding. The connector is waterproof and detachable.

Approved, not “for off-road use only”

Approved, not “for off-road use only”

The L7-DS525X variant is named in the ECE type-approval certificate E57*149R00/06*1142, issued by the Republic of San Marino on January 24, 2024, in class C under UN Regulation R149.00.

Almost all aftermarket spotlights, on the other hand, are sold with the clause “for off-road use only.” The complete certificate can be downloaded at the bottom of the page.

The lens cover can be removed in an instant

The lens cover can be removed in an instant

White at 6000 K with the lens cover removed; yellow at 3000 K in fog or rain, where it reduces glare from water droplets. The lens cover can be removed at any time.

The information sheet submitted for type approval declares both white and yellow, but the report's colorimetric tests were conducted on white. The lens cover also serves a practical function: it protects the lens from gravel and is the sacrificial part that can be replaced without touching the headlight.

IP68, CNC aluminum, and thermal protection

IP68, CNC aluminum, and thermal protection

Body machined from solid with heat-dissipation fins, denser than die-cast construction. IP68 protection, tested under heavy rain.

If the temperature rises too high, the electronics automatically reduce the power: this protects the LEDs instead of letting them degrade.

The beam, at night

The beam, at night

The dipped beam broadens the illuminated area at the edges of the road with a defined cutoff line, which in testing proves symmetrical and stable without dazzling oncoming traffic.

For the high beam, the test measures over 32,500 candelas at the maximum point, compared with a required minimum of 25,000. After installation, adjust the tilt in the dark, not in the garage: it is the only way to understand how it really illuminates.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Do you need an additional handlebar switch?

No. The kit integrates with the motorcycle’s existing fog light switch: turn on the auxiliary lights as you would the factory fog lights, without installing or searching for additional buttons while riding. The connector is waterproof and detachable.

Is it also compatible with the VOGE DS900X?

Yes. The LOBOO technical panel for this version lists two motorcycles: the VOGE DS525X from 2023 and the VOGE DS900X from 2024.

If you have a special configuration or a transitional model year, contact us before ordering with your license plate number or VIN: we would rather confirm compatibility in writing than have you deal with a return.

Is it approved for road use?

Yes. The L7-DS525X variant is listed in ECE certificate E57*149R00/06*1142, issued on January 24, 2024, by the Approval Authority of the Republic of San Marino under UN Regulation No. 149.00, 00 series of amendments, supplement 06. The approved class is C, and the marking is stamped on the housing of each headlamp.

The complete certificate can be downloaded at the bottom of the page. You are responsible for verifying the number, position, and height above the ground required by the Highway Code for your vehicle.

What’s the difference compared with the universal LOBOO L7S?

The light is the same and shares the type-approval certificate. Everything else is different: this version has brackets and wiring designed based on VOGE’s original specifications and is controlled by the standard fog-light switch.

The universal L7S instead uses clamps for 22, 25, and 28 mm tubes, while the 32 and 38 mm clamps must be purchased separately, along with a dedicated eight-level dial to install near the clutch control.

Can the yellow lens cover be removed?

Yes, it can be removed at any time. White at 6000 K for maximum output, and yellow at 3000 K in fog and rain, where it reduces glare from water droplets.

One useful clarification: the submitted information sheet declares both white and yellow, but the report’s colorimetric tests were conducted only on white. The lens cover also protects the lens from gravel: it is the sacrificial part and can be replaced without touching the headlight.
