Motorcycle Intercoms and Bluetooth Headsets

Two different things that are often confused. An intercom is for talking: with the passenger, with other members of the group, or on the phone. A Bluetooth earpiece is for listening: to music and navigation directions, without conversation between motorcycles.

If you travel in a group, the type of connection matters. Classic Bluetooth supports only a few motorcycles in a line and drops out when one gets too far away; a mesh network automatically reconnects riders who leave and rejoin, and can accommodate dozens of riders on the same channel. If you usually ride alone, an earpiece costs less and takes up less space in the helmet.

Before ordering, check the stated talk time (not standby time), water resistance, the diameter and thickness of the speakers, because there is little room in the speaker recesses of a full-face helmet. Installation requires no tools: a clamp-on or adhesive bracket on the shell, with the speakers in the pre-fitted recesses.
