All you need to know before ordering

Technical specifications, equipment, delivery, and warranty: find every detail, verified against official LOBOO documentation, below.

Description BMW clutch lever with auxiliary light switch, two lengths included

The CLU081 is a replacement clutch lever for BMW with the auxiliary light switch built into the lever body. It is not a control added to the handlebar: it replaces the stock lever.

The control is right where your hand already is

An added switch forces you to look for the button or shift your grip, and nighttime or difficult terrain is the worst time to do that. Here, the dial is semi-recessed into the lever body, and your thumb can reach it without letting go of the handlebar.

What it controls

LOBOO specifies the CLU081 for the L18 auxiliary light. With the key in ACC, the dial turns on the low beam and then the high beam plus low beam; with the light on, rotate it to cycle through eight brightness levels, and press while rotating to switch from white to yellow light. A double-click opens three emergency modes, while a separate button activates the passing light. The auxiliary light is not included and must be purchased separately.

Two levers and four positions

The package includes two interchangeable levers, a short 200.7 mm version and a long 218 mm version, so you can choose the one that fits your hand best. The reach can be adjusted to four positions using the same knob already on your motorcycle. The body is made of CNC-machined aluminum alloy with an anodized finish, weighing 109 g with the short lever and 114 g with the long one.

Non-destructive installation

The manual specifies six steps: remove the screws, nuts, and mirror and handguard brackets; remove the hardware and adjustment knob from the original lever; reinstall them on the LOBOO lever; and close everything back up. No drilling and no additional hardware on the motorcycle are required. The M4 hex key is included; the manual does not specify torque values.

Which BMW models

R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure, R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure, R 1200 RT and R 1250 RT, R 1200 RS and R 1250 RS, R 1200 R and R 1250 R, plus the entire K 1600 series. If your motorcycle is not listed, write to us with the model and year before ordering.

Note: installation involves a riding control. If you are not familiar with this type of work, consult a qualified technician. Do not wash the switch with a pressure washer.

Why choose it
  • Command where your hand already is:The thumb reaches the buttons without losing grip or searching for switches on the handlebar.
  • Four functions:Power on, mode change, intensity adjustment, and emergency mode.
  • Sealed buttons:Watertight connectors and tactile feedback recognizable even with winter gloves.
  • One piece instead of three:Replaces bracket, remote switch, and associated wiring.
Who is it recommended for

Two checks before ordering

  • The variant: the clutch assembly differs between BMW models and years. Compare the images on the page with your motorcycle, or write to us with your model and year.
  • The light kit: the controller operates L7S, L11, L12, L16, and L18 spotlights, but available functions depend on the paired model.
Documents and manufacturer

Installation: this is a riding control

  • Installation involves the clutch lever: if you are not familiar with this, contact a qualified technician.
  • 12V power supply according to the provided diagram, with quick waterproof connectors.
  • Route the cables away from hot or moving parts, using the supplied grommets and cable ties.
  • Before riding the motorcycle on the road, check the full travel of the lever and the operation of the controls when stationary.
  • Recheck the tightenings after the first few kilometers.

How does it work, in detail?

The command where the hand already is

The command where the hand already is

The switches added to the handlebar force you to look for the button or shift your grip. At night, or when the terrain gets rough, that is the worst time to do it.

Here, the controller is integrated into the clutch-lever collar: your thumb can reach it without letting go of the grip.

Replaces the original lever without drilling

Replaces the original lever without drilling

LOBOO designs it based on the original motorcycle’s data: the lever replaces the stock one in six fully reversible steps, without drilling anything.

The adjustment knob and hardware from the original lever are not discarded: they are removed and reinstalled on the LOBOO lever, which therefore comes with no motorcycle-specific hardware.

Order the L18 spotlight

Order the L18 spotlight

The LOBOO manual and parameter panel specify this command for the L18 auxiliary spotlight: this is where the integrated switch provides all its functions.

The spotlight is not included and must be purchased separately. The manufacturer does not specify any other models; if you have another LOBOO spotlight, contact us before ordering.

Eight levels of light, white or yellow

Eight levels of light, white or yellow

With the light on, rotate the dial to scroll through eight brightness levels; press and rotate it to switch from white to yellow and vice versa. The switch’s four LEDs indicate the current level.

Double-click to enter the three emergency modes, with the red indicator flashing. The overtaking light button is separate, always under your thumb.

Four corner positions, two lengths

Four corner positions, two lengths

The lever travel can be adjusted to four positions, using the same knob already on your motorcycle, which is reused during installation.

The package includes two levers, one short at 200.7 mm and one long at 218 mm: install the one that fits your hand best and keep the other aside.

One cable, 4-pin connector

One cable, 4-pin connector

The alternative is a bracket, a handlebar-mounted switch, and its wiring: three pieces on the handlebar that take up space and loosen over time.

Here, the control is already integrated into the lever, with a single cable coming out, 240 mm long with a 4-pin connector. The manual asks you to check that it does not become taut when the lever rotates.

Which BMW models does it fit?

Which BMW models does it fit?

LOBOO lists ten models: R 1200 GS and R 1200 GS Adventure, R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure, R 1200 RT and R 1250 RT, R 1200 RS and R 1250 RS, R 1200 R and R 1250 R, plus the entire K 1600 series.

If your motorcycle isn’t listed, the manufacturer does not claim compatibility. Send us the model and year, and we’ll reply before you place your order.

How to clean it, and what not to do

How to clean it, and what not to do

The manual is explicit: do not aim a pressure washer at the switch. Clean it with a soft cloth, a damp tissue, or a glasses-cleaning cloth, and, if necessary, a neutral detergent. Acids and alkaline products are prohibited.

Accumulated dirt is the typical cause of a ring that turns poorly. The manufacturer's other recommendation is to check the screws periodically.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Which spotlight does it work with?

The LOBOO manual and parameter panel specify the CLU081 for the L18 auxiliary spotlight. The ring controls the power, low beam and high beam, eight brightness levels, switching between white and yellow light, and three emergency modes; a separate button activates the passing light. The manufacturer does not specify any other spotlights: if you have a different one, contact us before ordering.

Will it fit my BMW?

LOBOO declares ten models: R 1200 GS and Adventure, R 1250 GS and Adventure, R 1200 RT and R 1250 RT, R 1200 RS and R 1250 RS, R 1200 R and R 1250 R, and the entire K 1600 series. There is only one code; there are no variants to choose from. If your motorcycle is not listed, write to us with its model and year, and we will confirm in writing before you place the order.

Do I need to drill or modify the motorcycle?

No. The LOBOO lever is designed based on the original lever’s specifications and replaces it. The manual outlines six steps: remove the screws, nuts, and brackets for the mirrors and handguards; remove the hardware and adjustment knob from the original lever; reinstall them on the LOBOO lever; and put everything back together. No drilling, no cutting, and the installation is reversible.

What will I find in the package?

The lever with the integrated switch and 240 mm cable pre-installed, a second lever of a different length, and an M4 Allen key. The L18 spotlight and its wiring, which are purchased separately, are not included, nor is any motorcycle hardware: the screws, nuts, brackets, and adjustment knob are reused from the original.

Can I assemble it myself?

The manual describes six steps using common tools plus the included Allen key. However, keep in mind that you are working on a steering control: if you are not familiar with this, have it installed by a technician. The manual does not specify torque values, so tighten the screws carefully and check them again after the first few miles.

How much does it weigh?

109 g with the short lever installed and 114 g with the long one. This is the weight of the lever, not the packaging, which also contains the second lever and the wrench.

Can I wash it with a pressure washer?

No: the manufacturer prohibits directing a high-pressure jet at the switch. Use a soft cloth, a damp tissue, or a glasses-cleaning cloth; add a neutral detergent if needed. Never use acidic or alkaline products. Accumulated dirt is the most common cause of a ring that is difficult to turn.

Is the product covered by a warranty?

Yes: all LOBOO products sold on Endurrad are covered by the 24-month statutory consumer warranty. In the event of a lack of conformity, we will handle the claim with the manufacturer.

Can I return the product if it isn’t suitable?

Yes, you are entitled to return the item within 14 days of delivery under online purchase regulations. The product must be intact and in its original packaging: contact us and we’ll guide you through the process.

How does shipping work?

Tracked shipping throughout Italy: the product is carefully inspected and prepared before leaving our warehouse. The mounting accessories included in the original package are included.

Can I pay in installments?

Yes: at checkout, installment payment services are available directly among the payment methods, with no additional paperwork.

Is it an original LOBOO product?

Yes: we sell exclusively original LOBOO products, new and in the packaging provided by the manufacturer, with official documentation.
