Description Approved auxiliary lights for CFMOTO 800MT, dedicated brackets

The LOBOO L7 kit for CFMOTO 800MT is the dedicated version of the L7 auxiliary light: the same light, brackets, and wiring designed for the motorcycle's mounting points.

ECE R149 Approved

The L7-800MT variant falls under approval certificate E57*149R00/06*1142, UN ECE R149.00 Regulation Class C, with both dipped and main beam approved and a stamped mark on the body.

This is the difference that matters: almost all aftermarket spotlights are sold for off-road use only.

Eight Levels, Adjustable on the Fly

An aluminum dial is installed near the clutch lever: the thumb can reach it without letting go of the grip, with an active level indicator.

One Body, Three Functions

  • Dipped beam with a sharp cut-off
  • Main beam, over 32,500 cd of certified intensity
  • Flashing in three modes: alternating, simultaneous, and sequential

By connecting the dedicated cable to the horn control, you can sound and flash at the same time.

Construction

IP68, CNC machined aluminum alloy body, glass lens, intelligent thermal protection, and protection against reverse polarity and overvoltage. Removable yellow lens cover included: both white and yellow are approved.

12 V power supply: 80 W in dipped beam, 150 W with both beams active.

Why choose it
  • Designed on the CFMOTO 800MT:brackets and wiring based on original motorcycle data, from 2021.
  • Control from the standard switch:integrates with the original fog light, no additional buttons.
  • ECE R149.00 Class C approved:both dipped and main beam approved.
  • White 6500K or yellow 3000K:removable lens cover included, which also protects against gravel.
  • IP68 and CNC aluminum:with thermal protection that reduces power if the temperature rises.
Who is it recommended for

This version or the universal L7S?

The headlight is the same and shares the homologation certificate. Brackets, wiring, and controls differ.

  • If you have a CFMOTO 800MT: this version. It mounts on the designated points and turns on from the standard fog light control.
  • If you have another motorcycle: the universal L7S, with clamp brackets from 22 to 38 mm and an eight-level ring.

For the 800MT-X or other versions of the range, please write to us with the model and year before ordering.

Documents and manufacturer

Type-approval certificate

The L7-800MT variant falls under ECE type approval E57*149R00/06*1142, UN Regulation R149.00 Class C, issued by the Type-Approval Authority of the Republic of San Marino on January 24, 2024. E57 149R-001142 mark stamped on the body of the headlight.

Installation

  • The connection uses the motorcycle's original fog light circuit via a dedicated waterproof connector.
  • Adjust the beam angle so that it does not dazzle oncoming traffic: this is the most important check and the one most often skipped.
  • The type approval concerns the device. The conditions for installation and use on the vehicle remain subject to the Highway Code.

How does it work, in detail?

Designed based on data from the CFMOTO 800MT

Designed based on data from the CFMOTO 800MT

It is not a modified universal headlight: the brackets, positioning, and wiring are designed based on the original specifications of the CFMOTO 800MT from 2021 onward.

It mounts where the manufacturer provided the mounting points, without adapter brackets or having to settle for a compromise position.

Controlled by the original switch

Controlled by the original switch

It is the most important difference compared with the universal version: the kit integrates with the fog-light switch already fitted to the CFMOTO 800MT.

No additional switch to install on the handlebars, no button to search for: turn on the auxiliary lights just as you would the standard fog lights. The connector is waterproof and detachable.

Approved, not “for off-road use only”

Approved, not “for off-road use only”

The L7-800MT variant is named in type-approval certificate ECE E57*149R00/06*1142, issued by the Republic of San Marino on January 24, 2024, in Class C according to UN Regulation R149.00.

Almost all aftermarket spotlights, on the other hand, are sold with the clause “for off-road use only.” The complete certificate can be downloaded at the bottom of the page.

Cool white 6000K or warm yellow 3000K

Cool white 6000K or warm yellow 3000K

The yellow lens cover can be removed at any time: white at 6000 K for maximum performance, yellow at 3000 K in fog or rain, where it reduces glare from water droplets.

The information sheet submitted for type approval declares both white and yellow, but the report's colorimetric tests were conducted on white. The lens cover also protects the lens from gravel thrown up by the front wheel.

IP68 and intelligent thermal protection

IP68 and intelligent thermal protection

CNC-machined aluminum alloy housing, denser and with better heat dissipation than die-cast construction. IP68-rated, tested under heavy rain.

If the temperature rises too high, the electronics automatically reduce the power: this preserves the LEDs instead of letting them degrade.

Adjustable angle after installation

Adjustable angle after installation

The angle is adjusted with the headlight mounted, so you can aim the beam based on how it actually illuminates the road on your motorcycle and with your setup.

This check should be done in the dark, not in the garage—and repeated if you load the motorcycle for a trip.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Do you need an additional handlebar switch?

No. The kit integrates with the existing fog light switch on the CFMOTO 800MT: turn on the auxiliary lights just as you would the standard fog lights, without any additional buttons to install or search for while riding. The connector is waterproof and detachable.

Is it compatible with all CFMOTO 800MT models?

LOBOO documentation lists the CFMOTO 800MT from 2021 onward. If you have the 800MT-X or another version in the range, please write to us with the model and year before ordering: we would rather confirm in writing than have you deal with a return.

Is it approved for road use?

Yes. The L7-800MT variant is listed in ECE certificate E57*149R00/06*1142, issued on January 24, 2024, by the Type Approval Authority of the Republic of San Marino under UN Regulation R149.00, 00 series of amendments, supplement 06. The approved class is C, and the marking is stamped on the housing of each headlamp.

The full certificate can be downloaded at the bottom of the page. You are responsible for checking the number, position, and height above the ground required by the Highway Code for your vehicle.

What’s the difference compared with the universal LOBOO L7S?

The light is the same, and both versions are listed on the same type-approval certificate. Everything else is different: this one has brackets and wiring designed around the original data of the CFMOTO 800MT and is controlled by the standard fog-light switch.

The universal L7S instead uses clamps for 22, 25, and 28 mm bars — those for 32 and 38 mm must be purchased separately — and an eight-level dial to be installed near the clutch control. If you have an 800MT, this version is the most straightforward choice.

How much power does it draw? Can the motorcycle’s electrical system handle it?

The kit connects to the fog-light circuit provided by the manufacturer, so it operates on a line already sized for an additional lighting load.

The technical panel for this version states 70 W on low beam and 150 W with both beams, referring to the pair at maximum level: these are peak values, not the usual consumption. If you already have heated grips, a USB socket, or a heated vest, consider the alternator's overall capacity.

How do you clean and maintain it?

Plenty of water and a soft cloth, both on the yellow lens cover and the lens. Dragging sand across it while dry is the main cause of the micro-scratches that dull the beam.

The lens cover is the sacrificial part: if it becomes scratched after a few seasons of riding on dirt roads, replace it without touching the headlight. That is exactly what it is designed to do.
