What the spy photos show: engine, wheels, fuel tank
The prototypes have been photographed several times: the details change from one sighting to another, and none of them is a specification-sheet fact.
The engine, with a caveat
Moto.it reports a 947 cc LC8c parallel twin, the same engine as the 990 Duke. The quoted 123 hp at 9,500 rpm and 103 Nm at 6,750 rpm are the Duke's figures and have probably been revised for the Adventure. The useful comparison is with the 890 Adventure R, which Moto.it lists at 105 hp and 100 Nm.
Frame, wheels and fuel tank
The images show 21- and 18-inch spoked wheels, a subframe with steel tubes and die-cast aluminum parts, and a split fuel tank with the volume concentrated higher up than on the current model. In an earlier sighting, reported by MotorBox based on photos from Motorrad & Reisen, a new clear windscreen and wider fairing appeared, while the aluminum engine guard was missing: further proof that the prototype changes from month to month.
If you have a 790 or 890 Adventure: what changes and what does not
Nothing currently fitted to your bike loses compatibility just because a new one is released. The real question is what you would move to a 990.

Is the KTM 990 Adventure official?
No. As of October 7, 2026, KTM has not announced the 990 Adventure: everything circulating comes from spy photos of prototypes, such as those taken by Moto.it on October 5, 2026, based on images from Speedweek. Until KTM makes an announcement, all technical data remains speculative.
When will the KTM 990 Adventure be unveiled?

Will the accessories for the 790 and 890 Adventure fit the 990?

Is it worth buying accessories for my 890 Adventure now?
If you use the motorcycle now, yes: the 790 and 890 Adventure remain in the catalog, and the accessories can be used right away. Waiting only makes sense for those considering changing motorcycles who want to determine whether they need the 990; in that case, it is better to postpone frame-related parts and buy only what is truly needed.
Can LOBOO Pike Tracker panniers be moved to another motorcycle?
The aluminum panniers are separate from the racks: the JP221B rack is listed for the KTM 790 and 890 Adventure, standard and R. In principle, the shells can be reattached to a different rack, but you need the rack dedicated to the new model, and there is no confirmation that LOBOO will produce one for the 990.
