In brief. The new Triumph Tiger 1200 2027 became official on October 27 and is on display at EICMA 2026. The 1,160 cc three-cylinder engine produces 158 hp at 9,250 rpm (up 8 hp) with 130 Nm available from just 6,750 rpm; all four versions feature Bosch front and rear radar, Showa EERA HeightFlex semi-active suspension that lowers the bike by 30 mm when stationary, and 19- and 17-inch wheels, including the Rally models, which lose their 21-inch front wheel.
For touring riders, the biggest change is the rider assistance: adaptive cruise control, assisted emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and a seat that can lower to 790 mm when the bike is stationary. Wet weights range from 250 kg (GT Pro) to 268 kg (Rally Explorer). Arriving at dealerships from December 2026. Here, we distinguish official Triumph data from figures reported by the press and explain what this means for your Tiger's accessories.
The 2027 Tiger 1200 focuses on comfort and rider assistance, not extreme off-road riding
All figures in this section come from Triumph's Tiger 1200 MY27 press kit, issued under embargo until October 27, 2026.

Our take on the new generation is clear: Triumph has shifted the Tiger 1200 toward touring. The choice of a 19-inch front wheel across the range, the more accessible seat and the addition of radar on both sides are decisions aimed at riders who rack up highway miles, Alpine passes and gravel roads with luggage, not those looking for technical single-track. Anyone who wanted the Rally with a 21-inch front wheel will have to look elsewhere or shop the used market.
The three-cylinder gains 8 hp and has a lower minimum speed
Unchanged displacement at 1,160 cc, 90 mm bore and 60.8 mm stroke, 13.2:1 compression ratio. All the work is on the inside.
Triumph says it has redesigned the cylinder head, fitted new pistons, lighter intake and exhaust valves, revised camshaft profiles, more precise injection and a freer-flowing exhaust. The crankshaft and balancer shaft have also been updated. The claimed output is 158 hp (116.2 kW) at 9,250 rpm and 130 Nm at 6,750 rpm: peak torque remains unchanged, but arrives earlier, and according to the manufacturer, there is more of it at low revs.
For riders carrying a load, another figure matters. Triumph has changed the first-, second- and third-gear ratios, as well as the primary and final drive ratios: the minimum crawling speed is reduced by 6 km/h. In practice, this means using the clutch less during U-turns on gravel, tight hairpins and in city traffic. Final drive remains by shaft, the six-speed gearbox features the latest-generation Shift Assist, refined to be quieter, and the clutch is slip- and assist-type.
| Figure | Tiger 1200 2024-2026 | 2027 Tiger 1200 |
|---|---|---|
| Power | 150 hp at 9,000 rpm | 158 hp at 9,250 rpm |
| Torque | 130 Nm at 7,000 rpm | 130 Nm at 6,750 rpm |
| Rally wheels | 21- and 18-inch spoked wheels | 19- and 17-inch tubeless spoked wheels |
| Rally suspension travel | 220 mm (figure reported by inSella) | 200 mm front and rear |
| Radar | Rear blind-spot radar, Explorer models only | Front and rear, full ARAS package |
The 2024-2026 model data comes from the Triumph Italia configurator, already cited in this article before the update; the comparison of the Rally’s suspension travel is reported by the press. The stated certified fuel consumption is 5.3 l/100 km, with 120 g/km of CO2, Euro 5+.
HeightFlex suspension lowers the bike by 30 mm when you stop
This is the new feature Triumph had previewed as “the most sophisticated suspension package ever fitted to a Triumph.”
All versions feature Showa EERA HeightFlex: 49 mm inverted forks and semi-active rear shock, with 200 mm of travel front and rear. Rear preload self-levels according to the load, damping is adjustable to three levels (Firm, Medium, Soft) using a dedicated button, and a six-axis inertial platform updates the settings in real time. In road modes, the bike lowers by 30 mm when coming to a stop and returns to ride height when moving off. There is also a secondary hydraulic bottoming bumper and the Centre Stand Assist function, which briefly increases preload to make it easier to put the bike on its centre stand, useful with full panniers.
Tubular steel frame with forged aluminum mounts, bolted aluminum rear subframe, and Tri-Link aluminum single-sided swingarm. Dimensions: length 2,258 mm, wheelbase 1,567 mm, steering head angle 24.3°, trail 115 mm.

Wheels, tires, and brakes
The GT has 10-spoke alloy wheels; the Rally has cross-spoke tubeless wheels. Both have 3.0 x 19-inch front and 4.5 x 17-inch rear wheels, with 120/70 R19 and 170/60 R17 tires, fitted from the factory with Pirelli Scorpion Trail III tires according to Triumph's website. Up front are two 320 mm floating discs with Brembo Stylema M4.30 radial monobloc calipers and a Magura HC1 radial master cylinder; at the rear is a 282 mm disc with a Brembo caliper. All versions have lean-sensitive ABS and traction control.
For touring riders, the 120/70-19 and 170/60-17 sizes are good news: they're the same as those used on the most popular road-focused adventure bikes, so there's a wide choice of touring and mixed-surface tires.
Seat. Two adjustable positions across 20 mm, 10 mm thicker padding, low seat (-20 mm) and high seat (+20 mm) available as accessories. The press kit lists 810-860 mm in one configuration and 790-840 mm in the other, with the low seat standard in some markets. The key point is this: with the low seat and automatic lowering active, the seat height is 790 mm when stationary.
Bosch front and rear radar is standard on all four versions
The package is called ARAS (Advanced Rider Assistance Systems) and was developed with Bosch. The previous generation had only a rear radar.
| Function | What it does, according to Triumph | When you need it on a ride |
|---|---|---|
| Adaptive Cruise Control | Maintains speed or distance from the vehicle ahead, in Comfort and Dynamic modes | Motorways and highways with variable traffic |
| Curve Speed Control | In Comfort mode, reduces speed on long bends | Junctions and sweeping bends with cruise control engaged |
| Overtake Assist | Prepares to overtake when you indicate and the blind spot is clear | Two-way highways, trucks |
| Group Ride Assist | Maintains distance from motorcycles ahead | Group rides |
| Dynamic Cruise Control | Maintains speed using the throttle, engine braking, and brakes | Long descents |
| Riding Distance Assist | Limits acceleration and, if necessary, brakes to prevent getting too close | Traffic jams and queues |
| Forward Collision Warning | On-screen alert, followed by a pulse on the rear brake pedal | Distraction, fatigue |
| Emergency Brake Assist | Increases braking pressure if it detects a collision during hard braking | Emergencies |
| Blind Spot Assist | Indicator in the mirrors for vehicles in the blind spot | Lane changes |
| Rear Distance Warning | Warns if the vehicle behind is too close | Highway |
Alongside the radar is the new 7-inch Bosch TFT touchscreen, IP6K9K-certified, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Siri and Google Gemini. The touchscreen only works below 2 km/h; while riding, use the backlit handlebar controls. A Bluetooth intercom is required to use navigation and music. On top of the tank is a sealed compartment for your smartphone, with a 15 W USB-C port and cooling fan.

The headlight is an adaptive LED projector: additional elements switch on at 15° and 30° of lean, and a motor adjusts the beam height based on the bike's position, which is useful because the bike's height changes with HeightFlex. Three-level heated grips and heated seats for the rider and passenger are standard on all models.
GT or Rally, Pro or Explorer: the differences are the wheels, tank and protection
The engine, radar, suspension and brakes are the same across all models. The wheels, capacity, protection and some details differ.

- those who make heavy use of adaptive cruise control on the highway.
- It's no longer an enduro with a 21-inch front wheel;
- It isn't light: the Explorer weighs nearly 270 kg;
- For challenging off-road terrain, smaller bikes remain more suitable.

Compared with the R 1300 GS and Multistrada V4 S, the Tiger is the heaviest, but comes with radar as standard
Comparison of figures declared by the manufacturers. Weights are not always measured on a like-for-like basis; this is noted for each row.
| Model | Engine | Power / torque | Weight | Fuel tank | Wheels |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro 2027 | 3-cylinder, 1,160 cc | 158 hp / 130 Nm | 250 kg in running order | 20 L | 19 / 17 |

Accessories for the 2024-2026 Tiger are not declared compatible with the 2027 model
Triumph has changed the tank, wheels, and suspension, and the subframe is bolted on as before. But no accessory manufacturer has yet published compatibility with the MY27.
For 2027, Triumph is introducing an Evo luggage system developed with GIVI, a new 58-liter aluminum top case that holds two helmets, the 42-liter top case already in the lineup, matching side cases, and the Trekker range. This signals that the rear mounts have been revised along with the original luggage offering.
