Description Top Case Plate for BMW R 1300 GS and GS Adventure | top case mount on the original luggage rack
This is the mount that lets you install a top case on the R 1300 GS using the original BMW luggage rack: it attaches on top, without drilling or removing anything from the rear section. It is the shortest and least invasive of the three options LOBOO provides for this motorcycle.
The manual specifies it for both the R 1300 GS from 2023 and the R 1300 GS Adventure from 2024. The LOBOO panel states that the plate is compatible only with the original BMW luggage rack: it cannot be mounted on racks from other versions.
Which top cases you can mount
The plate provides mounting points for P45T, P36T, T36T and C40T, in black and silver finishes. P45T and P36T are the PIKE TRACKER aluminum top cases, while the C40T is the top case from the CONQUEROR series. The top case is not included.
What's included
Four items: the plate, four 30 mm spacers (16 mm outer diameter, 6.5 mm hole), four M6 × 45 screws and threadlocker.
How to install it
Three steps, all reversible:
- Remove the four original screws from the standard luggage rack.
- Insert the supplied four spacers into their holes.
- Place the plate and secure it with the included four M6 × 45 screws, tightening them to 12 N·m in sequence and only after completing the adjustments.
The user manual is available in eight languages, including Italian.
The rear load has a limit
LOBOO does not specify its own maximum load for the plate: the limit stated by BMW in the owner's manual applies, and includes the plate, top case and contents. For the CONQUEROR top case, the luggage manual recommends not exceeding 5 kg. It is the highest and rearmost part of the load, so it matters more than the same weight placed in the side cases.
If this isn't enough
Two other solutions are available for the R 1300 GS: the reinforced rear luggage rack, a complete structure that replaces the standard luggage-rack area, and the sliding upper luggage rack, which replaces the original luggage rack with a die-cast structure and a laterally sliding plate. For the Adventure, the alternative is the JP151WPRO luggage rack for the R 1300 GS Adventure.
With the JP131B side-case frames, the plate completes the three-case system on the R 1300 GS. The plate's material and weight are not specified by any LOBOO source, so we do not state them.
After installation, check that the top case does not cover the license plate or rear lights and does not extend beyond the limits set by the Highway Code.

Before choosing
