Description Reinforced Rear Luggage Rack for BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 | top case support, enlarged version

Reinforced rear luggage rack for BMW R 1300 GS from 2023

Code JP131WB, which LOBOO calls the enlarged-version Top Case Rack. It replaces the rear luggage-rack area with a sturdier structure and a larger support plate for the top case: the solution for those who really load up the rear, or who fit a 40-liter aluminum top case instead of a soft bag.

What's included

Nine line items: the rear subframe, the support plate, four ø20 × ø8.5 × 18 mm spacers, two ø24 × 25 × ø10 mm bushings, four M8×30 screws, four M6×35 screws, four M8 washers, two ø22 × ø14 × 13.9 mm spacers, and the mounting tool.

Tightening torques

Two values, and it's important not to mix them up: 20 N·m for the M8 screws and 12 N·m for the M6 screws. The manual instructs you to fit all the parts without tightening them, make the adjustments, and tighten everything only at the end, in sequence.

Installation

Twenty-two illustrated steps. The manual calls for removing some original tail components and disconnecting electrical connectors, which are then reconnected and reinstalled. No drilling is required: all operations are reversible, but this is not a five-minute installation.

Compatibility

BMW R 1300 GS from 2023. The manual for this code states compatibility with the PIKE TRACKER, TIBET and CONQUEROR luggage systems.

Why choose it

Who is it recommended for

Documents and manufacturer

How does it work, in detail?

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

What’s the difference compared with the standard top case plate?

The JPT131WA plate attaches to the motorcycle’s original luggage rack and uses its structure. This, on the other hand, is a complete luggage rack that replaces the rear section with its own structure and a larger mounting plate: more robust, more installation work, and suitable for those who load a full aluminum top case instead of a soft bag.

Will it fit my motorcycle?

It is specified for the BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 onward. It is not intended for the R 1300 GS Adventure, which has a different tail and its own dedicated part number: if you have the Adventure, contact us and we’ll point you to the right one.

Can I mount any top case on it?

The manual states compatibility with the PIKE TRACKER, TIBET, and CONQUEROR luggage systems. For top cases from other brands, compatibility depends on the hole spacing: contact us with the model, and we’ll check before you place your order.

Do I need to drill or cut something?

No drilling required. However, the manual calls for removing some of the tail's original components and disconnecting electrical connectors, which are then reconnected and reinstalled. These operations are reversible, but there are twenty-two steps: set aside an afternoon, not half an hour.

What torque should the screws be tightened to?

Two different values, and they must not be confused: 20 N·m on the four M8 screws and 12 N·m on the four M6 screws. The manual says to fit all the parts without tightening them, make the adjustments, and tighten them only at the end, in sequence.

What will I find in the package?

New items: the rear subframe, mounting plate, four spacers, two bushings, four M8×30 screws, four M6×35 screws, four M8 washers, two short spacers, and the mounting tool. The top case is not included.

What material is it made of?

The manual for code JP131WB does not specify the frame material, so we do not include it. We prefer to leave the field blank rather than state something the manufacturer has not confirmed.

Why do I find it called JP131WPRO everywhere?

Why does LOBOO list it under two names: JP131WB in the manual and distribution price lists, and JP131WPRO in the commercial price list? It is the exact same product, with the same barcode. We use JP131WB, which is the one printed in the manual.
