What torque should the screws be tightened to?

The manual specifies two values: 12 N·m for M6 screws and 20 N·m for all M8 screws. A torque wrench is required and is not included.The manual also advises against fully tightening everything immediately: first position all the parts and check the alignment and symmetry, then tighten each screw to the specified torque.

Are fasteners and threadlocker included?

Yes. The manual's parts list contains twenty-two items: the two frames, the crossbar, the two brackets for the passenger footrests, bushings and spacers, seven screw sizes from M6 to M8, the washers, and threadlocker.No tools are included in the package: a torque wrench is required to meet the specified torque values.

Is there a crossbar to install behind the license plate?

Yes, and it is included. It connects the two halves of the frame behind the license plate holder and stiffens the assembly: it is one of the final assembly steps. It is secured with M8 screws tightened to 20 N·m and does not require moving the license plate or license plate light.

What is the shock-absorbing structure of the frames used for?

LOBOO describes it as a structure at the frame mounting points that protects the motorcycle's rear subframe in the event of a fall, keeping the luggage mounting secure. The manufacturer does not publish test results.

How much weight can I load on each side?

LOBOO does not specify a maximum load for these frames, so we will not give you a figure that does not appear in any official document.The reference to use is the side-case limit indicated by BMW in the R 1300 GS owner’s manual, which also takes into account the motorcycle’s permitted total load.

Is the assembly manual in Italian?

Pair of side case racks for the BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 onward, with rear crossbar, brackets, and mounting hardware. This is the structure the side cases attach to: the side cases are not included.

LOBOO calls it the PIKE TRACKER & CONQUEROR Series Side Case Rack, code JP131B. On the R 1300 GS, the exhaust leaves room for two identical cases: 37+37 or 45+45 liters.

What you can mount on these racks

PIKE TRACKER aluminum cases P37 or P45, in matte black or polished silver: find them on the PIKE TRACKER aluminum cases page, or already paired with the racks in the side case kit for R 1300 GS.
CONQUEROR aluminum cases with a capacity of 45+45 liters: the JP131B manual also lists this series. Find them on the CONQUEROR cases for R 1300 GS page.
WANDERER semi-rigid bags with a capacity of 40+40 liters, which attach to 18 mm tubing: there is a WANDERER kit with racks for R 1300 GS.

LOBOO aluminum cases can only be mounted on LOBOO racks. The reverse also applies: rigid cases from other manufacturers do not fit these racks.

Does it fit the R 1300 GS Adventure?

No. The Adventure has a different rear subframe and uses the JP151B side racks for R 1300 GS Adventure. The two codes are not interchangeable.

What's included

The manual lists 22 items: left and right racks, rear crossbar, two passenger footpeg brackets, six types of bushings and spacers, M6 × 16, M6 × 25, M8 × 20, M8 × 25, M8 × 30, M8 × 35, and M8 × 60 screws, M6 and M8 washers, and threadlocker.

How to install them

Sixteen illustrated steps, with no drilling required. Remove the seat, replace the original passenger footpeg brackets with those included in the kit, secure the two racks to the motorcycle's mounting points, and close the system with the crossbar behind the license plate.

Tighten the M6 screws to 12 N·m and the M8 screws to 20 N·m. LOBOO asks you not to fully tighten them immediately: first position all the parts, checking alignment, clearances, and symmetry, then apply the specified torque in sequence. Reinstall the removed original parts according to BMW's instructions.

Shock-absorbing structure and nine-point attachment

At the mounting points, LOBOO states that it uses a shock-absorbing structure, designed to protect the motorcycle's subframe in the event of a fall while keeping the cases securely attached. The aluminum cases and racks connect using a nine-point quick-release attachment system, covered by utility model patent ZL 2017 2 0624675.2.

Before ordering

With the short LOBOO exhaust, LOBOO also recommends the CPQ131 exhaust deflector, sold separately, which directs the gases away from the cases. If you don't know which exhaust you have, contact us before ordering.

Top case and three-case system

For the top case, LOBOO offers three solutions, each with its own page: the top case plate for the original luggage rack, the reinforced rear luggage rack, and the sliding upper luggage rack.

The JP131B manual does not specify the material, weight, or maximum load per side, so we do not provide them. All other accessories for BMW R 1300 GS are in the dedicated collection.

Which code for which motorcycle

In the LOBOO table, the R 1300 GS and the R 1300 GS Adventure have different side frames. The sliding luggage rack is available only for the GS, while the plate for the original luggage rack fits both. LOBOO aluminum cases can only be mounted on LOBOO frames, without damaging the motorcycle.

Shock-absorbing structure at the attachment points

LOBOO states that the frame mounting points feature a shock-absorbing structure: it protects the motorcycle subframe in the event of a fall and keeps the luggage firmly attached.

Patented nine-point attachment

Panniers and frames connect at nine points, without vibrations even after prolonged use. LOBOO states that in a fall or slide, the panniers remain in place, while in a strong frontal impact they detach. Utility model patent ZL 2017 2 0624675.2.

Possible settings on the R 1300 GS

The LOBOO table combines the sets as follows: top case with the reinforced luggage rack or the sliding one, side cases with the JP131B frames, three cases with frames and the reinforced luggage rack, or with frames and the sliding luggage rack.

Which panniers can I mount on the frames for the R 1300 GS?

The aluminum PIKE TRACKER in the P37 + P37 or P45 + P45 configurations, the 45 + 45-liter aluminum CONQUEROR cases, the 40 + 40-liter semi-rigid WANDERER cases, and the inflatable ALPS bags.

The cases are not included and must be purchased separately, or they can already be paired with the racks in the dedicated kits.

Are suitcases included in the price?

No: this page sells the pair of frames, which is the part intended for the motorcycle. The panniers are chosen separately, which is why the frame is purchased only once: you can change the type of pannier in the future without redoing the installation.

If you prefer to buy everything together, Endurrad also offers the kit with frames and matching semi-rigid panniers.

Will they also fit the R 1300 GS Adventure?

No. The GS Adventure requires the JP151B frames, designed for its geometry and also compatible with the CONQUEROR cases. They are available on a separate page.

I have the R 1300 GS with the short exhaust: do I need anything else?

Yes. LOBOO documentation indicates that installing the racks with the short exhaust also requires the CPQ131 exhaust deflector, sold on a separate page.

What needs to be removed from the motorcycle to install the frames?

The manual describes sixteen stages and requires removing the original passenger footpeg brackets, which are replaced with the plates supplied with the kit.

The other original parts removed during the work must be reinstalled using the torque specifications indicated by BMW, as required by the manual itself.

Do you need to drill into or modify the motorcycle?

The manual does not indicate any drilling: the frame attaches to the anchoring points already present on the motorcycle. The modification is reversible because the original parts removed can be reinstalled exactly as they were.
