Compatibility, included items, installation, and documents: below is every detail verified against the official Barkbusters documentation.
The BHG-094 is the Barkbusters mounting frame with two mounting points that the manufacturer lists for five Yamahas: MT 07 from 2021 to 2024, MT 09 from 2013 to 2020, MT 09 SP from 2018 to 2020, MT 09 Tracer from 2014 to 2020, and XSR 900 from 2016 to 2021.
The list seems strange until you understand the criterion: Barkbusters does not design the kits around the motorcycle's name, but around the handlebar geometry. The MT 09 up to 2020 and the MT 07 from 2021 use the same handlebar, so they use the same frame. This is also why, for these motorcycles, the year matters before the model.
Good to know before ordering: the handguard plastics are not included, while the handlebar weights are.

Protection and use
On a naked bike, the most common damage does not come from off-road riding but from parking: the motorcycle tips onto its side and the lever takes the hit, often together with the switchgear. The wraparound frame closes an aluminium arc around the hand and absorbs the contact instead of the lever. With the right plastics, it also adds protection from the wind, which you start to feel on an unfaired motorcycle from October onwards.
Materials and construction
Heat-treated aluminium bar, dedicated clamps and hardware, and handlebar weights. The manufacturer does not provide weight and dimensions in numerical form, so we do not estimate them.
A note on the finish
This is code BHG-094-NP, in natural aluminium. The manufacturer has since updated its catalogue to version BHG-094-BK, with a black powder-coated bar: it is the same kit with a different finish. We stock the NP code while supplies last. If colour is a deciding factor for you, write to us before ordering.

Barkbusters compatibility applies to the motorcycle in its original factory configuration. An aftermarket handlebar changes the diameter and thicknesses, so the mounting must be checked before purchase. Write to us with the model and year and we will check it with you.
Installation
- Check the model and year in the table above, and make sure the handlebar is the original one.
- Remove the stock handlebar weights: the ones supplied in the kit go in their place. On the MT 09 Tracer, the original handguard must also be removed, and the instructions contain a specific note for this model.
- Fit the clamp to the straight section of the handlebar, in front of the controls, without fully tightening it.
- Attach the aluminium bar to the end of the handlebar and to the clamp, then position it.
- Fit the plastics you have chosen, align them, and tighten.
- Check the throttle, front brake, clutch, and free steering from lock to lock, then check the tightening again after the first 50 km.

What is NOT included
The handguard plastics, which must be ordered separately: JET-003, VPS-203, STORM STM-003, or CARBON BCF-003. EGO plastics are not compatible with this frame.

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch. The night visibility is impressive, and the "X-Ray" mode, as they call it, makes evening riding much safer. The bag is of excellent quality and comes with all the necessary straps and a shoulder strap. The two methods of attaching it to the motorcycle are well designed and offer a range of options. I will also buy the larger model.
