Not the best-selling trail bike. The best-selling motorcycle overall, excluding scooters: in the Spanish general ranking, the DS 800 Rally is preceded only by 125cc scooters.

This is not an isolated case. Up to August, 33,489 trail bikes were registered in Spain, 39.1% more than in 2025, and seven of the top ten are from Chinese brands. The segment now accounts for 38.8% of all geared motorcycles sold in the country: more than one in three motorcycles.

For those who need to equip their motorcycle, the problem is very practical. These bikes have best-seller numbers but still a limited dedicated catalogue: for a DS 800 Rally or a 900 DSX, the specific bracket often doesn't exist, so the choice is based on measurements.

In Italy, the Africa Twin beats the GS by 37 motorcycles

Thirty-seven motorcycles after eight months is a margin that says nothing about the next quarter: the duel will be decided in December.

The truly revealing statistic is another one. Among the top twenty positions in the Italian ranking are twelve adventure bikes, three naked bikes, one classic and no sport bikes. The benchmark motorcycle in Italy is no longer the middleweight naked, and this has happened in less than five years.

The A2 segment is growing the fastest

CFMoto 450MT fifth in Italy, Voge 625 DSX tenth, Himalayan 452 seventh in the United Kingdom among bikes over 125 cc, Rieju Rally 307 third in Spain. A group of bikes that did not exist in these numbers ten years ago.

Those who buy one are almost always buying their first accessory ever, and the order in which they buy is always the same: luggage, engine protection, phone mount. They are also the bikes on which purchase mistakes are most common, because the owner has not yet learned to look at the measurements instead of the model name.

Crossovers sell, and nobody talks about them

Tracer 9 ninth in Italy with 1,664 units, F 900 XR twenty-first with 961, Versys 650 twenty-second with 948. None of these is strictly speaking an adventure bike, and all three fit exactly the same accessories: soft luggage, auxiliary lights, smartphone mounts, engine protection.

If you ride a crossover, the fact that an accessory is catalogued as «adventure» doesn't concern you. What matters is the mounting point, and on that front you're all in the same boat.
