There is an empty space between the crash bars and the sides of the motorcycle that no hard case can use. The LOBOO Wanderer BHGB05T inflatable crash bar bags fit that irregular shape and turn it into useful storage: 6 liters per bag, 12 liters per pair. The structure does not come from a rigid shell but from the bag itself, which is an airtight air chamber.

How inflatable crash bar bags work

An inflatable motorcycle bag works in the opposite way to a case: instead of imposing its own shape on the motorcycle, it takes the shape of the available space. When deflated, the BHGB05T remains semi-rigid and stands on its own, so it is easy to fill and close. Inflated through the integrated one-way valve, it becomes an elastic cushion that fills the gap between the tube and fairing and secures itself to the bars without play.

The manufacturer states a load capacity of at least 300 kg per inflated bag and a protection duration of at least 6 hours per inflation. In a slide, it is this volume of air that works first, between the bar and the ground. It is an accessory passive protection feature, not a homologated device: it does not replace crash bars or protective clothing.

The practical benefit comes at the end of the trip: deflate them, store them away, and the motorcycle is back to its clean appearance. There is no permanent bulk every day, which is the main reason to choose an inflatable bag instead of a hard one.

What fits in 6 liters

Six liters per side is the right amount for what you want to keep within reach without opening the cases: a puncture repair kit and small compressor, rain gear, spare gloves, a headlamp or flashlight, documents and wallet protected from water, or a half-liter bottle of water with something wrapped around it. They are the external pocket that adventure motorcycles are missing.

Their mounting position also makes them the quickest compartment to reach: standing next to the motorcycle, without removing anything or taking off your helmet.

How to measure the bars before ordering

There is no list of compatible motorcycles, because compatibility does not depend on the motorcycle: it depends on the tube. The LOBOO manual specifies a round bar with a diameter of 25 mm as a requirement, and the fastening system works equally well on irregular, square, or triangular structures.

  1. Take a caliper and measure the outside diameter of the crash bar tube where you want to mount the bag.
  2. If you do not have a caliper, wrap a measuring tape around the tube and divide the circumference by 3.14: a 25 mm tube measures approximately 78.5 mm in circumference.
  3. Make sure the selected section is clear for at least the width of the bag and that there are no obstructing welds or brackets.
  4. Check the distance from the exhaust and cylinder heads: the bag must not touch hot parts.

The crash bars are not included and must already be installed: they are the anchoring structure. If you do not have them, Endurrad offers crash bars for BMW, KTM, Husqvarna, Honda, Ducati, Aprilia, and other motorcycles.

Inflatable or hard: when each one makes sense

An aluminum side case offers more volume and a shell that protects against impacts and forced entry, but it requires dedicated frames, stays on the motorcycle all year, and increases its width. An inflatable bag costs less, requires no frames if you already have crash bars, disappears when not needed, and makes use of space that would otherwise remain empty - but it offers few liters and the contents are not protected by a shell.

In practice, they are not mutually exclusive: the BHGB05T is the natural complement to a set of cases, not its replacement. If you are looking for a true inflatable side volume, the LOBOO range offers the 23- and 30-liter Alps inflatable motorcycle side bags, which mount on 18 mm side frames rather than on the crash bars.

Waterproofing, anti-theft system, and details

  • Declared IPX7 rating - TPU fabric on an 840D nylon base and an airtight waterproof zipper. The rating is declared by the manufacturer for the complete bag.
  • Primary keyed anti-theft system - a stainless-steel cable passes through the zipper pull and the strap eyelet, then locks into the buckle. It prevents opening and quick removal, but does not replace a primary anti-theft device.
  • Five buckle positioning points, rotatable on its axis, to compensate for the inclination of the motorcycle bars from one motorcycle to another.
  • Duraflex buckles on the straps and high-visibility reflective inserts on the sides, in the area most exposed laterally.

Maintenance

The waterproof zipper is the component that determines the bag's service life. Always close it with the internal pressure equal to the ambient pressure: closing it while the bag is overpressurized strains the teeth and reduces its seal. Operate the puller by pinching it between your index and middle fingers and pulling it along the guide, and occasionally apply a silicone zipper lubricant. Rinse with fresh water after use on salted roads and store the bags deflated and dry, without tight folds in the TPU fabric.

Usage limitations

  • Pre-installed crash bars with 25 mm tubing are required: without them, there is no way to mount the bags.
  • The weight is not stated by the manufacturer, and we do not publish an inferred figure.
  • The stated 300 kg load capacity refers to the inflated bag in a static test: it is not an impact-resistance homologation.
  • The manual included in the package is in English and Chinese; the procedure translated into Italian is on this page.

Mounted high on the crash bars, the inflated bags create a durable cushion between the motorcycle and the ground. In a slide, that volume of air takes the impact first, before the load reaches the bar.

Meanwhile, they fill the irregular space between the bars and the side panels—space no hard case can use—and turn it into useful storage.

When not needed, they deflate and can be stored away, so they do not remain a permanent obstruction on the motorcycle. They require crash bars to be installed already.

Even without air inside, the bag maintains exactly the shape you see in the photo: it remains semi-rigid, does not flatten, and does not develop fold creases. It fills and closes while standing upright on its own.

The entire body of the bag is an airtight air chamber. Once inflated, its rigidity increases significantly: the bag becomes an elastic yet durable cushion that absorbs impact instead of giving way in the event of a collision or slide.

The manufacturer states that the protection provided by a single inflation lasts for 6 hours or more. At the end of the journey, the bag deflates and can be stored away: it does not remain a permanent obstruction on the motorcycle.

The manufacturer's dimensioned drawing states 230 × 100 × 330 mm per bag, including the inflation valve. These are the dimensions of an inflated bag: when deflated, its thickness is reduced and the bag flattens against the crash bar.

Before ordering, compare the 33 cm height with the clear section of your crash bar, and the 10 cm thickness with the space available toward the exhaust. LOBOO specifies that the measurements are taken manually and may have tolerances.

There is no list of compatible motorcycles: only the bars matter. The LOBOO manual specifies a required tube diameter of 25 mm, and the mounting system works equally well on irregular, square, or triangular structures.

The manual documents four steps: choose the buckle position from the five available, tighten the buckle onto the bar with the M6×10 screw to 12 N·m using the included 4 mm hex key, pass the straps around the tube, and fasten them, adjusting their length until all slack is eliminated.

A medium-strength threadlocker is recommended for the screw; it is not included in the package. Recheck the tightness after the first few dozen kilometers.

The one-way valve opens by pressing the switch with one finger; repeatedly squeeze the built-in pump until the desired inflation level is reached, then close it by pressing the switch again. No external pump is needed.

The manual warns that any operation other than these will damage the valve. The manufacturer states that the protection lasts at least 6 hours per inflation: if the bag remains installed for a long time, periodic topping up is normal.

Uso della valvola di gonfiaggio

  • Chiudi la valvola premendo nuovamente l'interruttore. Manovre diverse da quelle indicate a manuale danneggiano la valvola.

Uso del cavo antifurto

  • Fai passare il cavo nel foro del cursore della zip stagna.
  • Fai passare il cavo nell'occhiello previsto sulla cinghia.
  • Innesta il terminale del cavo nella sede della fibbia di fissaggio e chiudi con la chiave.

Come verificare la compatibilità

La compatibilità non dipende dal modello di moto ma dal tubo. Il manuale LOBOO indica come requisito una barra paramotore a sezione tonda di diametro 25 mm; il fissaggio lavora su strutture irregolari, quadrangolari o triangolari.

Misura il diametro esterno del tubo con un calibro, oppure avvolgi un metro attorno alla barra e dividi la circonferenza per 3,14: un tubo da 25 mm misura circa 78,5 mm di circonferenza. Verifica anche che il tratto scelto sia libero per la larghezza della borsa e lontano da scarico e testate.

Prodotto arrivato in tempi rapidi. Ben confezionato.Le borse non solo rispecchiano la descrizione, ma sembrano di qualità.
Facile il montaggio nonostante le istruzioni sono solo in lingua inglese e cinese.
Nella confezione oltre le borse vi è un portachiavi ed un lubrificante per le cerniere che appena viene applicato rende scorrevole e maneggevole l'apertura e la chiusura della cerniera della borsa.
Spero sia per il loro utilizzo ma sopratutto per tenuta del materiale di rimanere soddisfatto a lungo nel tempo.

Con molta soddisfazione

Ho visto la pubblicità di endurrad su Facebook e subito mi sono adoperato per avere le borse gonfiabili della loboo sulla mia moto.... Maaa per errore tecnico ho sbagliato a impostare dei dati sull'ordine che era già partito, allarmato ho mandato delle email al personale di endurrad che con la loro professionalità ( e devo aggiungere con la loro pazienza) hanno corretto i dati sia nella registrazione che al corriere che intanto stava facendo il suo lavoro di consegna.... In due giorni ho ricevuto le borse e subito provate e adattate alla mia moto. Quindi devo dire con molta soddisfazione che mi sono trovato bene con il personale, con il prodotto è sopratutto Con la professionalità di come è stato portato avanti il marketing di tutti questi prodotti.... 🙂

Arrivate nei tempi previsti. Ottimo prodotto dove si dichiara che l'aria rimane per 6 ore, direi che non è corretto. Gonfiate il pomeriggio usate il giorno dopo , quindi dopo 24h ancora perfettamente gonfie. Direi che meglio di così. Il montaggio e rapido e facilissimo . Consiglio l'acquisto
