All you need to know before ordering
Technical specifications, equipment, delivery, and warranty: find every detail, verified against official LOBOO documentation, below.
There is an empty space between the engine guard bars and the sides of the motorcycle that no hard case can use. The LOBOO Wanderer BHGB05T inflatable motorcycle bags fit this irregular shape and turn it into useful storage: 6 liters per bag, 12 liters per pair. The structure does not come from a rigid shell but from the bag itself, which is an airtight air chamber.
How inflatable motorcycle bags work
An inflatable motorcycle bag works in the opposite way to a case: instead of imposing its own shape on the motorcycle, it takes the shape of the available space. When deflated, the BHGB05T remains semi-rigid and stands upright on its own, so it can be filled and closed conveniently. Inflated through the integrated one-way valve, it becomes an elastic cushion that fills the gap between the tube and fairing and secures itself to the bars without play.
The manufacturer states a load capacity of at least 300 kg per inflated bag and a protection duration of at least 6 hours per inflation. In a slide, it is this volume of air that works first, between the bar and the ground. It is an accessory passive-protection system, not an approved device: it does not replace engine guard bars or protective clothing.
The practical advantage comes at the end of the trip: deflate them, store them away, and the motorcycle is back to its clean original appearance. There is no permanent bulk left on the bike every day, which is the main reason to choose an inflatable bag instead of a hard one.
The valve, watertight zip, anti-theft system, and laboratory tests are explained one by one, together with all LOBOO technical panels, in the guide to inflatable engine guard bags.
What fits in 6 liters
Six liters per side is the right size for what you want to keep within reach without opening the cases: a puncture repair kit and compact compressor, rain gear, spare gloves, a headlamp or flashlight, documents and wallet protected from water, or a half-liter bottle of water with something wrapped around it. They are the external pocket adventure motorcycles lack.
Their mounting position also makes them the quickest compartment to access: standing beside the motorcycle, without removing anything or taking off your helmet.
How to measure the bars before ordering
There is no list of compatible motorcycles because compatibility does not depend on the motorcycle; it depends on the tube. The LOBOO manual specifies a round-section bar with a 25 mm diameter as the requirement, and the fastening system works equally well on irregular, square, or triangular structures.
- Use calipers to measure the outside diameter of the engine guard tube at the point where you want to mount the bag.
- If you do not have calipers, wrap a tape measure around the tube and divide the circumference by 3.14: a 25 mm tube measures approximately 78.5 mm in circumference.
- Make sure the selected section is clear for at least the width of the bag and that there are no obstructive welds or brackets.
- Check the distance from the exhaust and cylinder heads: the bag must not touch hot parts.
Engine guard bars are not included and must already be installed: they are the anchoring structure. If you do not have them, Endurrad offers engine guards and crash bars for BMW, KTM, Husqvarna, Honda, Ducati, Aprilia, and other motorcycles.
You can find which LOBOO crash bars in the catalog have 25 mm tubing and which instead have 22 mm tubing in the compatibility table in the guide.
Inflatable or hard: when each makes sense
An aluminum side case offers more volume and a shell that protects against impacts and theft, but it requires dedicated racks, remains on the motorcycle all year, and increases its width. An inflatable bag costs less, requires no racks if you already have the bars, disappears when not needed, and makes use of space that would otherwise remain empty—but it offers little capacity and the contents are not protected by a shell.
In practice, they are not mutually exclusive: the BHGB05T is the natural complement to a case set, not its replacement. If you are instead looking for genuine inflatable side storage, the LOBOO range includes the 23- and 30-liter Alps inflatable side bags, which mount on 18 mm side racks rather than on the bars.
Water resistance, anti-theft system, and details
- Declared IPX7 rating — TPU fabric on an 840D nylon base and an airtight, watertight zip. The rating is declared by the manufacturer for the complete bag.
- Primary key-operated anti-theft system — a stainless-steel cable passes through the zip slider and the strap eyelet, then locks into the buckle. It prevents opening and quick removal, but does not replace a primary anti-theft device.
- Five buckle positioning points, rotatable on its axis, to compensate for the angle of the motorcycle bars from one bike to another.
- Duraflex buckles on the straps and high-visibility reflective inserts on the sides, in the area most exposed laterally.

What's included
Complete pair (1 left bag + 1 right bag), 2 fastening buckles, 2 lock cylinders with clips, 2 keys, 2 M6×10 screws, 4 mm Allen key, and user manual. Engine guard bars and threadlocker for the M6 screws are not included.
Maintenance
The watertight zip is the component that determines the bag's service life. Always close it with the internal pressure equal to the ambient pressure: closing it while the bag is overinflated puts strain on the teeth and reduces the seal. Operate the slider by pinching it between your index and middle fingers and pulling it along the guide, and occasionally apply silicone zip lubricant. Rinse with fresh water after riding on salted roads and store the bags deflated and dry, without tight folds in the TPU fabric.
Usage limitations
- Already-installed engine guard bars with 25 mm tubing are required; without them, there is no way to mount the bags.
- The weight is not declared by the manufacturer, and we do not publish an inferred figure.
- The declared 300 kg capacity applies to the inflated bag in static testing; it is not an impact-protection certification.
- The manual included in the package is in English and Chinese; the procedure translated into Italian is on this page.
- Always check that the bags do not touch the exhaust, cylinder heads, or steering at full lock, and recheck the fastening after the first few dozen kilometers.
