In brief. To choose how many liters a motorcycle rear bag should hold, it is not advisable to start with the number: liters measure the container, not the luggage. The nights away and the tent are what determine it.
- 40 L weekend alone in a hotel · 50 L one week or a weekend for two · 66 L one week with a tent · 90 L long self-sufficient trip.
- A tent and sleeping bag alone are worth moving up a size.
- On the LOBOO BWB series, the vent valve compresses the load: choosing a larger size does not create the balloon effect.
- IPX6 = water jets and heavy rain, not immersion.
- Prices from 54 € (40 L) to 72 € (90 L).
The nights away and the tent determine the capacity, not the liters
The question always comes in the same form: “How many liters do I need?” And it is the wrong question, because liters do not measure the luggage: they measure the container's volume. The starting point is how many nights you will be away and whether you will sleep in a tent.

| How you travel | Volume |
|---|---|
| Weekend, two or three nights in a hotel or B&B, alone | 40 L |
| One week without camping, or a weekend for two | 50 L |
| One week with a tent and sleeping bag, or two weeks without camping | 66 L |
| Long self-sufficient trip: tent, sleeping mat, stove, changes of clothes | 90 L |
The rule of thumb
A tent and sleeping bag alone are worth moving up a size. If your trip includes sleeping outdoors, choose the capacity in the row above the one you would have selected.
With the vent valve, choosing a larger size is not a mistake
With most tail bags, you pay for the large capacity every day: half-empty, it becomes a swaying balloon behind your back and catches the wind.

How it works
After closing the roll-top, the front air-release valve expels excess air: the load compresses and the bag adapts to its actual contents instead of its nominal volume. This is the technical reason why, with this series, you can move up a size without paying the price on days when you carry little.
IPX6 means driving rain, not submersion
“Waterproof” alone is not a rating. IPX6 is, and it means something specific.

- high-pressure water jets
- driving rain
- wheel spray
- washing
- submersion: IPX7 is required for that, a different rating
- a poorly made roll-top closure
Why welded seams matter more than the fabric
The body is made of technical PVC with high-frequency welded seams, without stitching. This is what separates a waterproof bag from a water-resistant one: where no needle has pierced the fabric, there is no hole to seal, and no heat-sealed tape to peel off after two seasons.
For a bag mounted over the tail, IPX6 is the right rating: water from a ford cannot reach it under the seat.
The roll-top must be closed properly; otherwise, the rating does not apply
This is the note the manufacturer puts in writing, and the main reason a waterproof bag gets its contents wet.

- Expel the air with the valve after filling the bag.
- Roll the edge for several complete turns: the magnets embedded in the edge fasten by themselves.
- Close both buckles. One turn only, or just one buckle, and the stated level of protection no longer applies.
Patented magnetic roll-top
The closure is a LOBOO utility model patent (CN ZL 2019 2 1740293.1, according to information provided by the manufacturer). The advantage is noticeable when wearing winter gloves, which is the only time a closure is truly put to the test.
The manual documents three ways to secure it
No luggage rack is needed: all you need are anchor points on the sides of the tail. The bag rests on the passenger seat or on the luggage rack, if there is one.

| Method | What it uses |
|---|---|
| 1 and 2 | The included quick-release straps, attached to the fixed points on the sides of the tail |
| 3 | The lid buckles passed through non-elastic third-party straps, if you want to keep using your system |
The bag colour is a safety choice
The tail bag is the largest object a car sees of you when it follows you. On a loaded motorcycle, it is literally your rear surface.

Night and day are not the same problem
The reflective panels are on all sides in every colour, so black works at night. During the day, in rain or flat light, yellow or military green make you visible in a way black cannot. If you ride many kilometres on motorways or in winter, it is worth thinking twice before choosing black out of habit.
Three details make a difference from the second day
These are the features you do not notice in a shop but appreciate halfway through a trip.

- Separate dry and wet compartment. Your soaked rain gear and clean clothes do not share the same space.
- Double side pockets for what you need without opening the main compartment.
- Detachable shoulder strap. Once off the bike, it becomes a duffel bag: carry it to your room in one motion.
The size upgrade costs less than a tankful
The difference between 40 and 66 litres is nine euros: so when in doubt between two consecutive volumes, the larger one is almost always worth it.

Frequently asked questions
How many liters should a motorcycle rear bag hold?
40 liters for a solo weekend without camping, 50 for a week in a hotel or a weekend for two, 66 for a week with a tent, and 90 for long self-sufficient trips. A tent and sleeping bag alone are enough to move up one size.
Is 50 or 66 liters better if I am undecided?
When in doubt between two adjacent capacities, the larger one is almost always the better choice: between 50 and 66 liters, the price difference is €4.50, and the air-release valve brings the bag back to the size of its actual load when it is not full.
Does a half-empty 90-liter bag become unwieldy?
Not with this series: the front air-release valve expels air after the roll-top is closed, compressing the load so the bag adapts to its actual contents. The weight remains, however: 90 liters loaded to the top is a lot of weight positioned high and toward the rear, which lightens the front end on the highway.
Does IPX6 mean I can immerse the bag?
No. IPX6 indicates resistance to high-pressure water jets, meaning driving rain and splashes. Immersion requires an IPX7 rating.
Why do seamless welds matter?
Because every seam is a row of holes in the fabric and must be sealed with tapes that come unstuck over time. With high-frequency welding, the fabric is never pierced, so there are no points of water ingress to maintain.
How do you close the roll-top correctly?
The edge must be rolled down for several complete turns and fastened with both buckles, as indicated by the manufacturer. With only one turn or just one buckle fastened, the stated level of security is not guaranteed.
How do you secure a rear bag to a motorcycle?
With the included quick-release straps, attached to fixed points on the sides of the tail. The manual documents three procedures, one of which is compatible with non-elastic third-party straps. Keep the attachment points away from the exhaust, and secure the excess webbing.
Do you need a luggage rack to install it?
No. It rests on the passenger seat or luggage rack, if present, and only requires attachment points on the sides of the tail to secure the straps.
What's included in the package?
In addition to the bag, a detachable shoulder strap and two LOBOO quick-release straps for securing it to the motorcycle.
Does the color make any difference beyond appearance?
Yes. Reflective inserts are present on all sides in every color, but during the day, in rain or flat light, yellow and military green increase visibility compared with black.
Can I use it as a duffel bag once I'm off the motorcycle?
Yes. The included detachable shoulder strap turns it into a duffel bag you can carry to your room in a single trip.
How much does the LOBOO BWB rear bag cost?
In the Endurrad store, it costs 54 euros for the 40-liter version, 58.50 euros for the 50-liter version, 63 euros for the 66-liter version, and 72 euros for the 90-liter version (prices checked on October 2, 2026).
Are all sizes and colors available?
Not always. As of October 2, 2026, the 40- and 66-liter versions are available in black, yellow, and military green, the 50-liter version in black, and the 90-liter version in military green; fluorescent green is sold out in all sizes. The product sheet prevails.
