In brief. The ZXMoto 820GT is the sport tourer that Zhang Xue's Chinese brand is reportedly developing around the 818.8 cm³ inline three-cylinder already used in the 820RR, 820R and 820X. As of October 16, 2026, there is no official announcement: there are only renders from the Chinese press and a few figures, namely about 115 hp, about 210 kg and 220 km/h, a sport-derived aluminum perimeter frame and 17-inch wheels.
In China, the estimated price is between 40,000 and 50,000 yuan (about 5,300-6,700 euros at the exchange rate, excluding European taxes). A debut at EICMA 2026 (Milan, November 5-8) is a possibility, while some sources put mass production in 2028. In Italy, the brand is imported by Padana Sviluppo, but the 820GT has neither a price list nor a launch date. On this page, we separate what is verified from what is rumor, and explain what this means for anyone who really needs to fit luggage to their motorcycle.
For now, the 820GT exists only in renders from the Chinese press
The news circulated in Italy between October 13 and 15, 2026 (InMoto, inSella, Motoblog, Smanettoni). All the outlets agree on one point: ZXMoto has not said a word yet.
| Item | Status as of October 16, 2026 | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| 820GT name | Rumor | Chinese press, picked up by all European outlets |
| Images | Render, not a photo of a real motorcycle | Widely circulated in China; no official ZXMoto images |
| Engine | Inline three-cylinder from the 820 family: confirmed technical basis, tuning to be confirmed | The engine exists and is type-approved on the 820X; the GT version is not |
| Technical specifications | Not published | No primary source |
| Price | Estimate for the Chinese market | Chinese press, picked up by Motoblog |
| Presentation | EICMA 2026 as a possibility | Cylinder head deduction, not a manufacturer announcement |

The figures circulating are rumors, and they don't all agree
Comparing the sources reveals at least four points where the accounts differ. We list them because these are precisely the details that matter when choosing a touring motorcycle.
| Data | Most widely reported version | Alternative version | Our assessment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Power | About 115 hp (InMoto, Motoblog, Chinese press) | 135 hp like the 820R naked (Smanettoni's estimate); 118 hp and 88 Nm (a single source, with no references) | 115-116 hp is the most credible figure: it is the touring tune already homologated for the 820X |
| Weight | About 210 kg in running order (InMoto) | About 210 kg dry (Motoblog and Chinese press) | That difference amounts to 15-20 kg of fuel and fluids: until there is a spec sheet, any weight comparison is on hold |
| Frame | Aluminum perimeter frame from the 820RR sportbike (InMoto, Motoblog) | Frame and chassis from the 820R naked bike (Smanettoni) | In both cases, sport-oriented aluminum, unlike the 820X's steel frame |
| Timeline | Possible debut in 2027 (InMoto) | Mass production no earlier than 2028 (Motoblog, Chinese press) | A debut at EICMA would not mean the bike will reach dealerships anytime soon |
The speculated equipment
- Chassis. Taisko brakes and Yu'an suspension, the same Chinese suppliers cited for the rest of the lineup.
- Electronics. Ride-by-wire throttle and cornering ABS, carried over from the 820X.
- Comfort. Adjustable windscreen, heated grips and seat, large TFT display, cruise control.
- Carrying capacity. Ready for dedicated side cases.
Motoblog points out that none of these details have been confirmed, and it is not known what will be standard and what will be optional. On the 820X in China, much of this equipment comes standard even on the base version: it’s a clue, not a guarantee.
One engine, four bikes: the GT is the missing piece in the 820 family
Zhang Xue, founder of Kove before launching ZXMoto in 2024, built the lineup around a single in-house-developed triple. The formula is reminiscent of Yamaha’s CP3 engine in the MT-09 and Tracer 9.
| Model | Type | Power | Frame and wheels | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 820RR | Superbike | Over 130 hp on the road; 145-150 hp for track versions (press) | Aluminum perimeter frame, 17-inch wheels | On sale in China, competing in the 2026 World Supersport Championship |
| 820R | Naked | 135 hp (press reports) | Aluminum, 17-inch wheels | Unveiled |
| 820X | Adventure / crossover | 85 kW, around 116 hp (Chinese type approval) | Steel frame with aluminum swingarm, 19"/17" spoked wheels | Launched in China in September 2026 |
| 820GT | Sport tourer | Around 115 hp (reported) | Aluminum, 17-inch alloy wheels (reported) | Rendering only |

Why aluminum and 17-inch wheels change everything compared with the 820X
The 820X has a steel frame and a 19-inch spoked front wheel: it's a crossover that can handle easy off-road riding. The 820GT, if the reports are correct, instead starts with a chassis designed for the track, featuring two 17-inch alloy wheels and road tires. That means greater precision and a wider choice of sport and touring tires, but no gravel roads. They're two bikes for two different customers, even though they have the same engine: anyone looking for the versatility of the 820X can find everything in our in-depth look at the ZXMoto 820X.
The stated target is the Tracer 9, but the real benchmark is the Tiger Sport 800
The press calls it the “Tracer 9 rival” because it follows the same formula: three cylinders, sporty handling, and tourer protection. However, the most useful price comparison is with the recently launched Triumph.
| Item | ZXMoto 820GT | Yamaha Tracer 9 (2026) | Triumph Tiger Sport 800 |

What doesn't make the table
A sport tourer is bought for riding thousands of kilometers, often with a passenger and luggage. That's why after-sales support, original spare parts under warranty, resale value, and the availability of dedicated accessories all matter: cases, top case, windscreen, and guards. The Tracer 9 and Tiger Sport already have a well-established ecosystem. All of this will have to be developed for the 820GT, as is currently happening with the Kove 800X (we cover it in our guide to the 2026 Kove 800X versions). Those looking at Triumph can already find accessories for the Tiger 850 Sport, the other road-focused crossover in the Tiger range.
The estimated Chinese price doesn't tell you what it will cost in Italy
The 40,000-50,000 yuan figures being reported are estimates for the Chinese domestic market, not a price list. Converting them to euros and stopping there is the most common mistake.
The 820X precedent
In China, the 820X costs 46,800 yuan in the Strike version and 57,800 in the Touring version, around €6,250 and €7,700. If the GT really were positioned below it, it would be one of the cheapest bikes in the 820 range. But European prices must factor in import duties, European homologation, shipping, importer and dealer margins, and 22% VAT. The Italian price list for the 820X has not yet been announced: that is the first figure to watch to get an idea of where the GT might be priced.
Who would sell it in Italy
Since March 28, 2026, ZXMoto has been exclusively imported by Padana Sviluppo of Brescia, the same group that handles CFMoto, Kymco, Voge, and Yadea, with a reported network of around 1,000 dealerships and service centers across its brands. When the deal was announced, the press named the 500RR as the first model, due by the end of 2026, with most of the range following in 2027, after European homologation. The 820GT has not been mentioned in any statement from the importer.
EICMA is one possibility; production could be delayed until 2028
As of today, no one can say when the 820GT will arrive at dealerships. However, it is possible to piece together a likely timeline.
- October 2026 — render in China. The bike was not on display at the CIMAMotor show in Chongqing in September, where the 820X was launched.
- November 5-8, 2026 — EICMA, Milan. ZXMoto made its European debut at EICMA 2025: it is the natural stage, but no official source has confirmed the GT will be there.
- 2027 — possible official unveiling. This is the year indicated by the Italian press for its debut.
- 2028 — start of mass production. According to Chinese reports cited by Motoblog, mass production would not begin before 2028.

All the adventure and crossover updates expected at the show are collected in our guide to EICMA 2026, which we will update during the event.
Accessories for a sport tourer are chosen by different rules than for an adventure bike
Anyone considering a bike like the 820GT will mostly ride on asphalt, at speed, often on the highway. This changes how you choose panniers, bags, and electronics, and some rules already apply today, to any sport tourer.
Panniers depend on the frame, not on which bike you like
Panniers and top cases mount to model-specific frames and plates. The standard aluminum equipment on the 820X bears the LOBOO logo, a brand that Endurrad distributes in Italy; nothing is known yet about the 820GT. Anyone currently claiming accessories are "compatible with the 820GT" is promising something they cannot know. To understand how a top case mount works, our guide to the motorcycle top case plate explains what to check before buying.

Tank bags: magnets aren't a given on road bikes
Many modern sport tourers have tanks covered with plastic panels or bodywork, which a magnetic bag cannot attach to. Before choosing one, you need to check with a magnet where the steel sheet is. If there isn't any, you'll need mounting rings or strap systems: we discuss this in our guide to the magnetic tank bag that won't stay put.
- choosing universal bags and accessories that can be transferred from one bike to another
- assessing the actual volume you need for a trip
- organizing your load inside hard cases
- buying frames or guards "for the 820GT" before the bike exists
- assuming that the 820X equipment will fit the GT

For using a GPS and phone on the highway, vibration resistance matters: the anti-vibration smartphone mount attaches to a bar or mirror mount, while the guide to the 100 W USB-C socket explains how much current fast charging draws from the electrical system. Inside hard cases, the inner bags for cases (from €39.90) save you from having to unpack everything at every stop.
