The LOBOO C36 is a bidirectional onboard charger. On output, it delivers up to 130 W combined across two USB-C ports. On input, when connected to a PD power bank, it charges the motorcycle battery. A display on the front shows the system voltage in real time.

Two USB-C ports, not a USB-A

Both ports are Type-C: the first delivers up to 100 W and is also the one that receives power in input mode; the second delivers up to 30 W. Together they reach 130 W, enough to keep a laptop and a phone charging simultaneously while you ride.

The supported protocols are PD3.0, Apple 2.4 A, Samsung 5 V 2 A, QC2.0, QC3.0, QC4+, FCP, SCP, AFC, and DCP. Actual power depends on what your device negotiates: to use 100 W, you need a cable and a device that genuinely support it.

Input mode: charge the motorcycle from a power bank

This is the function that gives the product its name. Switching to input mode and connecting a PD power bank to the 100 W port allows the C36 to transfer energy to the motorcycle battery. When traveling in remote areas, it avoids having to carry a jump starter.

To be clear: it is not a jump starter. It does not provide the cranking current needed to start an engine instantly when the battery is completely dead. It charges the battery, and charging takes time.

One button, two functions

With the ignition on, a short press switches between input and output. When the OUT indicator is lit, both Type-C ports deliver power; when IN is lit, only the 100 W port receives power.

Holding the same button for three seconds makes the SLA and LiON indicators flash: a short press selects the type of battery installed in the motorcycle, lead-acid or lithium. This choice determines the charging profile, so it must be set correctly during the initial installation.

Repairing mild sulfation

For lead-acid batteries, the C36 automatically selects the charging sequence based on the detected conditions and can start a recovery cycle for mild sulfation. It cannot revive a battery at the end of its service life: it addresses the initial buildup that forms when the motorcycle remains unused for a long time.

Voltage display

The value shown on the display may differ slightly from the reading on the motorcycle’s dashboard: this depends on the measuring chip and is normal behavior, not a defect. It helps you monitor the battery condition and alternator health before a problem leaves you with a stranded motorcycle.

Construction and installation

CNC-machined aluminum alloy body, with fins that dissipate the heat generated during fast charging. IP67 certification: it resists dust and water in outdoor riding conditions. The two ports are protected by silicone seals.

The package includes 3M adhesive for mounting on a flat surface and a rearview-mirror bracket compatible with screws up to 10.5 mm in diameter. The handlebar clamp for 22, 25, 28, and 32 mm bars is sold separately.

The first port delivers up to 100 W, and the second up to 30 W, for a total of 130 W available simultaneously. That’s enough to keep a laptop charging while powering your phone at the same time, without having to choose which one to sacrifice.

One detail that can save you a surprise upon delivery: they’re both USB-C. The C36 has no USB-A port, so if your cables are the older type, factor in getting a new one.

This is the feature that gives the product its name, and it is not common. Switching to input mode and connecting a PD power bank to the 100 W port reverses the current flow: from the power bank to the motorcycle battery. When traveling in remote areas, this means you do not have to carry a jump starter.

Let’s be clear, because the difference matters: it is not a booster. It does not provide the immediate burst of power needed to start the engine with a dead battery. It recharges the battery, and recharging takes time—how much depends on the power bank’s capacity.

The LED display shows the system voltage in real time. It is the simplest way to notice that a battery is failing or that the alternator is not charging as it should, weeks before your motorcycle leaves you stranded in a parking lot.

A difference of a few tenths of a volt compared with the value shown on the dashboard is normal: the measurement chips are different, and LOBOO states this. What matters is the trend over time, not the second decimal place.

When set to lead-acid battery mode, the C36 evaluates the detected conditions and automatically selects the charging sequence, potentially starting a cycle to recover from light sulfation—the deposit that forms on the plates when the motorcycle remains unused for a long time.

It is a maintenance function, not a miracle: it addresses early buildup and extends the battery’s service life. There is nothing to recover in a battery at the end of its life or with shorted cells.

The body is made of CNC-machined aluminum alloy with fins that dissipate the heat generated during fast charging: at 130 W, a closed plastic casing would overheat. The IP67 certification protects against dust and water, and both ports have silicone seals.

Istruzioni complete e note di sicurezza

Nella confezione sono inclusi l'adesivo 3M per il montaggio su superficie piana e la staffa per lo specchietto retrovisore, compatibile con viti di diametro fino a 10,5 mm. Il morsetto per manubri da 22, 25, 28 e 32 mm è un accessorio venduto separatamente. L'alimentazione va derivata dall'impianto della moto a 12–15 V, instradando il cavo lontano da parti calde o in movimento.

Does it have a USB-A port?

No. The C36 has two Type-C ports: the first delivers up to 100 W, and the second up to 30 W. There is no USB-A port.

If your cables are USB-A, you need a Type-C cable or an adapter. It’s worth checking before ordering: this is the most common reason for surprises upon delivery.

Can it really start the motorcycle with a dead battery?

It is not a jump starter. When a PD power bank is connected to the USB-C port, the C36 draws power and recharges the motorcycle battery until it can start the engine again: this takes time and is not instantaneous like a jump-start pack. The advantage is not having to carry one on trips to remote areas.

How long does it take to charge the battery from a power bank?

It depends on how much power the power bank has and how depleted the battery is, and LOBOO does not publish reference times: we prefer not to make them up. The timescale is still that of charging, not an instant jump-start.

That is the purpose of the function: if you are far from everything and the battery no longer has enough power to start, a sufficiently large power bank can bring it back to a condition where it can start, given enough time. It does not replace a jump starter.

How do you switch from output mode to input mode?

With the display on, briefly pressing the front button switches between the two modes. When the OUT indicator is lit, both Type-C ports supply power; when the IN indicator is lit, only the 100 W port accepts incoming power.

This is an important detail: in input mode, the second port does not work, so you cannot charge the battery and power a device at the same time.

How do I set the motorcycle battery type?

With the ignition on, press and hold the button for three seconds: the SLA (lead-acid) and LiON (lithium) indicators will flash. A short press selects the type installed on your motorcycle.
