In brief. On the BMW R 1300 GS, the Wanderer semi-rigid cases are mounted on the LOBOO JP131B side frames; on the R 1300 GS Adventure, on the JP151B. On both, the configuration is 40 + 40 liters because the frames are symmetrical. The original BMW frames are not suitable: the Wanderer cases attach only to frames with 18 mm tubing and the LOBOO hole pattern.
The case set does not include the frames. For both motorcycles, Endurrad offers kits with cases and frames already matched.
What is needed for the R 1300 GS and GS Adventure
| Motorcycle | LOBOO frames | Cases | Complete kit |
|---|---|---|---|
| R 1300 GS, from 2023 | JP131B | Wanderer 40 + 40 L, BCB4040TBK | Wanderer kit with JP131B |
| R 1300 GS Adventure, from 2024 | JP151B | Wanderer 40 + 40 L, BCB4040TBK | Wanderer kit with JP151B |
Be careful not to confuse the codes: JP131B and JP151B are not interchangeable between the GS and GS Adventure.
Why 40 + 40
The JP131B and JP151B frames are symmetrical: they accept identical PIKE TRACKER cases on both sides, either 37 or 45 liters. On the Wanderer, this means a 40 + 40 configuration, with the same capacity on the right and left.
The Wanderer mounting plate comes factory-drilled for the PIKE TRACKER P45 and P37 frames, with a 358 × 182.5 mm hole spacing: no mounting point needs to be moved on these frames.
Installation overview
- Install the JP131B or JP151B frames according to their manual.
- On the case, leave the plate in its factory position, the one for the PIKE TRACKER P45 and P37 frames.
- Close the roll-top by rolling it twice and secure the top buckle.
- Hook the case onto the frame and close the side lock.
All steps, including the tightening torques and drilling diagrams, are in the installation guide for the semi-rigid motorcycle cases.

Soft-sided or aluminum cases for the R 1300 GS
The same frames also fit PIKE TRACKER aluminum cases in 37 + 37 or 45 + 45 liters: you can find them in the kits for the R 1300 GS and the R 1300 GS Adventure. Aluminum provides better protection against impacts and break-ins; the Wanderer cases weigh less, detach by hand like a bag, and include the dry bags.
Frequently asked questions
Do the Wanderer cases fit the original BMW frames on the R 1300 GS?
No. The Wanderer cases attach only to side frames with 18 mm tubing and the LOBOO mounting-hole pattern. The LOBOO JP131B frames are required for the R 1300 GS, and the JP151B frames for the R 1300 GS Adventure.
Does the R 1300 GS use the 40 + 30 or 40 + 40 setup?
The 40 + 40 setup. The JP131B and JP151B frames are symmetrical and accept cases with the same capacity on both sides.
Are the frames included in the case set?
No, the Wanderer set includes two cases and two 20 L dry bags. The frames are sold separately, or together with the cases in the kits dedicated to the R 1300 GS and R 1300 GS Adventure.
What is the total capacity?
80 liters in the two cases, 40 per side. With the two included 20-liter dry bags, the total capacity reaches 120 liters.
Are they waterproof?
The manufacturer declares an IPX6 rating: they withstand heavy rain and water jets, but not immersion. Water resistance also depends on the roll-top, which must be rolled twice.
