Street-legal electric moped capable of 45 km/h with a removable battery

Maximus E-Cruiser MX45-2: the electric scooter for urban commuting in Italy

  • Rolektro electric scooter reaching 45 km/h with dual 1,500 W motors, a removable 60 V 26 Ah lithium battery, and a range of up to 55 km. Road-legal and drivable with an AM license. Home charging, zero tailpipe emissions, and operating costs of around €0.85 per 100 km.

Description Homologated Electric Scooter 45 km/h Maximus E-Cruiser MX45-2

Stop looking for parking. Your daily commute costs less than 50 cents in electricity.

The Maximus E-Cruiser MX45-2 Lithium is an approved electric moped, not an overpowered scooter. Two 1,500 W motors, one front and one rear, propel it up to 45 km/h: exactly the Italian urban limits. In the city center, you lose nothing compared to a car, and gain everything else.

The 60V 26Ah lithium battery weighs about 8 kg and can be removed from the footboard with a key. You can take it home or to the office and charge it from a normal outlet in 6-8 hours. If you don't have a garage with power, this detail alone changes the feasibility of the purchase.

Underneath are oversized tires of about 50 cm, front and rear disc brakes, a telescopic shock-absorbing fork, and double shock absorbers. Cobblestones, tram tracks, and potholes stop being a problem. Above, a full-color digital display with cruise control, NFC unlock, and a USB port.

Up to a claimed 55 km range: for an urban commuter, this means charging once a week. Zero exhaust emissions, zero noise, zero queues at the gas station.

It comes with a EU Certificate of Conformity (COC): the document you need to request a license plate and registration certificate. Can be ridden with an AM license from 14 years old, or with the car license you already have.

Why choose this vehicle
  1. Why does it exist?
To cover daily urban commutes—those under 25 km each way—better than a car: no parking, no fuel, no traffic jams.
  2. Why choose it over other electric scooters?
Because it combines features rarely found together in this segment:dual 1,500 W motors, removable 8 kg battery, dual disc brakes, full suspension, color display with cruise controlandNFC unlockwith a lockable deck.
  3. Why is it reliable?
Because it is an EU-approved vehicle with a certificate of conformity, E-Mark lighting, and an identifiable manufacturer—Soletek GmbH—with spare parts available in their catalog.
  4. Why is the price justified?
Because the operating cost is around€0.80–0.90 per 100 km, with no oil, spark plugs, filters, belts, or engine maintenance. The savings become clear in the medium term, not just on the day of purchase.
  5. Why does it improve the day of those who use it?
Because it eliminates three daily frustrations—parking, refueling, congested traffic—and adds an unexpected one: silence.
Who is it recommended for
  • Students from 14 years oldwith AM license, on their first motor vehicle: automatic transmission and low center of gravity
  • Urban commuterswith a commute within 20-25 km per trip and overnight charging
  • Professionalswho travel between multiple locations or clients in urban areas
  • Light deliveriesin the city center, within a maximum capacity of 120 kg including the driver
  • Those without a garage: the removable battery solves the charging problem at its root

Not suitable forextra-urban travel on highways, passenger transport, or daily routes systematically exceeding the available range.

License plate, insurance, and driver's license

The Maximus E-Cruiser 45 is a moped, not a scooter or an electric bicycle. Therefore, everything that applies to a 50cc moped also applies to it: driver's license, license plate, insurance, and helmet.

Driver's license

An AM driver's licenseis required, obtainable in Italy from the age of 14. A1, A2, A, and Blicenses, which include AM qualification, are also valid. If you have a car driver's license, you are already qualified.

License plate and registration certificate

The vehicle must be registered. This procedure is carried out at the Motorizzazione Civile(Department of Motor Vehicles) or through a car registration agency, based on the EU Certificate of Conformity (COC)included with the vehicle.

Third-party liability insurance

Third-party liability insurance is mandatory, even for a stationary vehicle on public land. The insurance sticker no longer needs to be displayed, but documentation must be available for inspection upon request. For a vehicle with a removable battery, theft insurance makes concrete sense.

Helmet

Mandatory, no age limits. We also recommend certified gloves.

Where you can ride

On the roadway, like any moped. Noton sidewalks, bike paths, or pedestrian areas. Access to ZTLs (Limited Traffic Zones) is generally favored for electric vehicles, but the rules are set by the individual Municipality.

Passengers

The vehicle is approved for a single person. Carrying a passenger is not permitted.

Endurrad does not provide insurance advice. For the registration procedure, refer to the documentation provided with the vehicle and the competent Motorizzazione Civile.

Cruiser proportions, wide-section tires, dual disc brakes, and a license plate holder. The Maximus E-Cruiser 45 is road-legal and can be ridden with an AM license: in urban traffic, it takes up the space of a 50cc scooter and offers the same performance, without fuel or noise.

Open the platform with the dedicated key and take out 8 kg of lithium battery. Plug it into any household outlet, at home or in the office, and in 6–8 hours it will be fully charged. If you don't have a garage with power, this detail alone changes whether the purchase is feasible.

50 cm wheels, drilled disc, visible caliper

50 cm wheels, drilled disc, visible caliper

Tires Kenda 19x7.00-8 knobby, drilled disc, and red anodized caliper. The wide section increases the contact patch: tram tracks, drainage grates, and misaligned manhole covers cease to be a hazard.

Unlike a drum, the disc does not lose effectiveness during repeated braking in urban traffic, and on wet surfaces it mechanically removes the film of water.

It turns on when the chip is brought close.

It turns on when the chip is brought close.

No mechanical cylinder to force: the vehicle is enabled by holding the NFC tag against the reader on the handlebars. The tag stays in your pocket or attached to your keys, and there’s nothing exposed for a thief to attack using classic techniques.

Aluminum levers and included keys

Aluminum levers and included keys

Lightweight red anodized aluminum brake, ergonomic grips, and controls grouped on the right side. The package includes the deck keys, which protect the battery compartment, the steering lock key, and the NFC tag for ignition.

LED headlight with daytime running light ring

LED headlight with daytime running light ring

Dipped beam, high beam, and daytime running light in a single light cluster protected by a grille. The system is E-Mark certified, compliant with UNECE regulations, and includes brake light, rear light, turn signals, and hazard lights.

On a two-wheeled vehicle, being seen is the first form of active safety.

Dual disc, front and rear

Dual disc, front and rear

The rear also features a drilled disc with a red caliper. Braking with two discs distributes the load and maintains consistent response even after dozens of consecutive stops: exactly what city traffic demands.

Telescopic fork with true travel

Telescopic fork with true travel

Generously sized stanchions with genuine travel, not a fake decorative shock absorber. Together with the two rear shock absorbers and wide-section tires, they form a three-stage system: the tire filters out rough asphalt, while the suspension absorbs bumps and lowered curbs.

Padded seat with springs, 750 mm above the ground

Padded seat with springs, 750 mm above the ground

Quilted, mounted on two coil springs and positioned approximately 750 mm above the ground: most drivers can place both feet down at a stop without losing their balance, which is the most critical moment for someone riding a motor vehicle for the first time.

It is a single-seater: the vehicle is approved for one person only.

Side stand and pre-installed license plate holder

Side stand and pre-installed license plate holder

The stand supports the vehicle’s 96 kg on asphalt and gravel. At the rear, the license plate holder comes fitted as standard with a light and reflector: when the plate arrives from the vehicle registration office, attach it and you’re ready to hit the road, with no separate brackets to buy.

Carbon-look mudguards

Carbon-look mudguards

They cover the entire tire section and protect against splashes and debris. The glossy carbon-effect finish continues onto the side panels and engine cover: it’s the detail that sets the vehicle apart from a generic urban scooter.

Aluminum front plate, engraved logo

Aluminum front plate, engraved logo

Mounted between the fork legs, it replaces the plastic cover found on lower-end models. The Maximus logo is embossed in the metal, not applied as a sticker: it won't peel off or fade.

Width 810 mm, length 1,950 mm

Width 810 mm, length 1,950 mm

The two views show the actual dimensions: wide handlebars that provide control at low speeds, and tires that define the vehicle’s width. It fits in a standard motorcycle parking space and gets through where a car can’t.

The details you notice every day

The details you notice every day

NFC tag, LED headlight, dual disc brakes, carbon-look fenders, display and handlebar controls. On the technical specifications sheet, each takes up a single line; in everyday use, they make the difference between a vehicle you use and one you leave in the cellar.

Less than 50 cents a day

Less than 50 cents a day

A full charging cycle costs approximately 0,45 € and covers up to the stated 55 km. No oil, spark plugs, filters, or drive belt: maintenance is limited to tires, brakes, and battery care.

It pays for itself over the medium term, every day you use it instead of the car.

FAQs

For more information, see our Frequently Asked Questions ( FAQ ).

What type of license is required to drive the Maximus E-Cruiser 45?

The AM licence, available from the age of 14. A1, A2, A and B licences are also accepted: if you have a car licence, you’re already authorised.

Do you need the license plate and insurance?

Yes, both. It is a fully compliant moped. The package includes theEU Certificate of Conformity (COC)you need to apply for the license plate and registration certificate; you can take out third-party liability insurance with the provider of your choice.

How many kilometers does it travel on a single charge?

The claimed range is approximately 55 km. The actual figure depends on weight, temperature, hills, tire pressure, and riding mode: in Eco mode on flat routes, it comes close to the claimed figure, while in Sport mode during winter and on hilly terrain, it drops significantly. This is normal behavior for all lithium batteries.

Can I charge if I don't have an outlet in my garage?

Yes, and that’s the vehicle’s key advantage. The approximately 8 kg battery can be removed from the footboard and charged anywhere there’s a household outlet: at home, in the office, or in the basement. Alternatively, you can charge it while it’s installed in the vehicle.

How much does a top-up cost?

Approximately €0.45–€0.50 at €0.25/kWh, or around €0.80–€0.90 per 100 km. The battery stores 1.56 kWh, and grid consumption is approximately 1.8–2 kWh per full cycle.

How many years does the battery last?

The manufacturer states 700–800 cycles. At 50 usable km per cycle, that amounts to approximately 35,000–40,000 km before a significant drop in capacity. The replacement battery is available in the catalog.

How does it arrive at home? Do I have to assemble it myself?

We deliver it ourselves, using our own vehicles, throughout Italy within 7–10 business days of order confirmation. It arrives already assembled and ready to use, with all certifications included: you don't have to assemble anything or wait for a third-party courier.

Can you carry a passenger?

No. It is approved for one person only. Carrying a passenger could result in penalties and the possible loss of insurance coverage.

Can I enter the restricted traffic zones?

Electric vehicles are generally given preferential access to Limited Traffic Zones and areas subject to traffic restrictions, but the rules are set by each individual municipality. Check the regulations of your municipality of residence before relying on this.

Can I use it in the rain?

It is a road vehicle designed for everyday use. Avoid directing pressurized water jets at electrical components and the battery, and avoid prolonged outdoor storage without cover. For specific limitations, refer to the manual.

What maintenance does it require?

Far less than an internal-combustion vehicle: check tire pressure every 2–3 weeks, brake pads and discs, bolt tightening, and battery care. No oil, spark plugs, filters, or drive belt.

How do you turn it on? Does it require a key?

The vehicle is activated by bringing the supplied NFC chip close to the reader on the handlebars: there is no mechanical lock cylinder to force. The package also includes the keys for the deck, which protects the battery compartment, and for the steering lock.
