Description Rolektro E-Joy 45 Lithium | 45 km/h Electric Scooter with Seat

The Rolektro E-Joy 45 Lithium is a two-wheeled electric moped approved for road use, in the form of a scooter with a seat: maximum speed 45 km/h, 1,000 W motor in the rear hub, declared range up to 50 km, removable lithium battery, and a 39 kg foldable structure. It can be ridden with an AM license, obtainable at 14 years old, and requires a license plate, registration certificate, and RCA insurance like any moped. It is a single-seater vehicle.

The entry-level model: lightweight and transportable

It is the smallest and most economical of Rolektro's electric mopeds. It weighs 39 kg and folds, fitting into the trunk of a normal car. You load it, take it where you need it, and pick it up on the way back. None of the traditional electric scooters do this, as they weigh 88 kg or more.

What it's really for: the last mile. You arrive by car or train near your destination, then cover the last urban kilometers without looking for parking for a large vehicle.

The battery weighs 7 kg and you can take it indoors

The 48V 20Ah lithium battery slides out of the vehicle and weighs 7 kg: the lightest pack in the entire range. You charge it on a normal household outlet, indoors, without needing an outlet in the garage. You can also leave it on board and charge the vehicle directly.

Seven kilos are manageable by anyone: this is the difference compared to the 13-14 kg packs of larger scooters, which become a real burden in an apartment.

Cost of travel

The battery is 48V and 20Ah, meaning 48 × 20 = 960 Wh, which is 0.96 kWh. At €0.25/kWh, a full charge costs €0.24. Considering approximately 15% charger losses, the energy actually drawn from the socket is about 1.13 kWh, meaning a real cost of €0.28.

For the declared 50 km range, this means 1.9 kWh per 100 km, or about €0.56 per 100 km at the socket. This is the lowest operating cost in the range.

Dual disc brake

It is the only Rolektro electric moped to feature disc brakes on both front and rear wheels. Other models have drum brakes at the rear. On a lightweight vehicle with small wheels, where braking is more responsive, having two discs is noticeable: better modulation at the lever and less overheating during repeated braking.

What is needed to put it on the road in Italy

  • AM license, obtainable from 14 years old. A1, A2, A, and B licenses are also valid.
  • License plate and registration certificate, through the Motorizzazione Civile (Department of Motor Vehicles) or a car practice agency.
  • Mandatory RCA insurance.
  • Mandatory helmet.

The European Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is delivered with the vehicle and is the document used to initiate registration.

Not suitable for

  • Those who need to carry a passenger. It is a single-seater vehicle: the capacity is 120 kg for one person and luggage, and there is no approved second seat.
  • Uneven roads, cobblestones, potholes. The 6.5-inch wheels are small: they handle irregularities poorly that a scooter with 10-13 inch wheels absorbs without problems. The suspension helps, but the physical limitation of the wheel remains.
  • Motorways, expressways, and urban bypasses. Mopeds are prohibited from accessing these.
  • Steep climbs. With 1,000 W and a declared climb capability of 14-18%, challenging ramps must be tackled calmly, and this is a peak value.
  • Those seeking the comfort and protection of a traditional scooter. There is no front shield, no wide footboard, no standard windscreen here. It is an essential vehicle.

Battery: life and replacement

The manufacturer declares 700-800 full charging cycles and 6-8 hours for a charge. With one charge every two days, that's more than four years. The battery is a spare part available in the catalog, identical to the one supplied, and a second charged battery can be kept to double the daily range.

Warranty and assistance

Legal conformity warranty of 24 months. Endurrad is the seller and your sole point of contact for assistance, spare parts, and warranty: you do not need to contact Germany.

Why choose this vehicle

Three concrete reasons, and one why you might want to give up on it.

It folds and you load it into the car.It weighs 39 kg and the frame is foldable: it fits into the trunk of a normal car. It's the only approved moped you can take with you. You arrive by car, do the last urban stretch on two wheels, then load it back up and set off again.

The battery weighs 7 kg.The lightest pack in the range. You detach it and recharge it at home effortlessly, which is far from guaranteed with the 13-14 kg packs of large scooters.

Dual disc brakes. It's the only Rolektro with a disc brake at the rear as well. On a light vehicle with small wheels, where braking matters more, it's the right choice.

And the reason why you might want to give up on it:The 6.5-inch wheels and the absence of a shield and windscreen make it an essential vehicle, for good weather and smooth asphalt. If you are looking for the comfort, protection, and stability of a traditional scooter, check out the other models in the range.

Who is it recommended for

It's the right vehicle if

  • You travel alone on short urban routes, on well-maintained asphalt.
  • You want to load it into a car or keep it indoors: 39 kg and a folding structure make it possible.
  • You don't have an outlet in the garage: the 7 kg battery can be conveniently charged in your apartment.
  • You are looking for the cheapest and lightest approved electric moped for the last mile.
  • You are at least 14 years old and have an AM license.

It's not the right vehicle if

  • You need to carry a passenger: it's a single-seater, without an approved second seat.
  • You travel on uneven roads, cobblestones, or dirt roads: the 6.5-inch wheels are small.
  • You are looking for protection from wind and rain: it has no fairing or windshield.
  • Your route includes motorways, expressways, or ring roads: mopeds are prohibited.
  • You don't have covered parking and the vehicle would be exposed all year round: the IP protection rating is not declared by the manufacturer.
License plate, insurance, and driver's license

In Italy, the Rolektro E-Joy 45 is a two-wheeled moped.Despite its scooter-like appearance, it is not an electric scooter and does not fall under the rules introduced for scooters: it has a license plate and a registration certificate, like any 50cc moped.

Driving License. An AM license is required, which can be obtained from the age of 14. A1, A2, A, and B licenses are also valid.

Documents and Insurance.License plate, registration certificate, and third-party liability insurance are mandatory. Registration is initiated at the Department of Motor Vehicles (Motorizzazione Civile) or through a vehicle registration agency, using the European Certificate of Conformity (CoC) provided with the vehicle.

Helmet.Mandatory.

Passenger. Not permitted: the vehicle is approved for one person only.

Where it can be driven.Ordinary urban and extra-urban roads. Access to motorways and main extra-urban roads is prohibited.

ZTL (Limited Traffic Zones).Electric vehicles generally enjoy more favorable access conditions to limited traffic zones, but the rule is established by the individual Municipality and varies from city to city. Check your Municipality's website before assuming access: no seller can guarantee it.

Insurance.Endurrad does not provide insurance advice. For coverage, limits, and conditions, contact your company or an authorized intermediary.

Warranty.24-month legal conformity warranty in accordance with the Consumer Code.

FAQs

For more information, see our Frequently Asked Questions ( FAQ ).

What license do you need to drive the Rolektro E-Joy 45?

An AM license, obtainable from the age of 14, is required. A1, A2, A, and B licenses are also accepted: anyone who already has one of these does not need anything else. Despite its scooter-like appearance, it is a two-wheeled moped with a maximum speed of 45 km/h and falls within the category covered by the AM license.

Does it need a license plate and insurance, even if it looks like a scooter?

Yes. It is not an electric scooter: it is an approved moped and, as such, it requires a license plate, registration certificate, and third-party liability insurance before it can be ridden on public roads. Registration is carried out at the Civil Motorization Office or through a vehicle registration agency, using the European Certificate of Conformity (CoC) that we provide with the vehicle. A helmet is mandatory. Endurrad does not provide insurance advice.

Can I bring a passenger?

No. The L'E-Joy 45 is a single-seat vehicle: it has only one seat, the maximum load is 120 kg for one person and luggage, and it is not approved for carrying a passenger. If you need a two-seater electric moped, take a look at the other models in the Rolektro range.

Does it really fit in a car?

Yes. The frame is foldable, and the vehicle weighs about 39 kg. Once folded, it takes up less space and fits in the trunk of a standard car. That is the main reason people choose this model instead of a traditional scooter: those weigh 88 kg or more and cannot be loaded into a car. Keep in mind that 39 kg still has to be lifted, so if you are loading it by yourself, take that into account.

How many kilometers does it really travel on a single charge?

The manufacturer states up to 50 km. This figure is measured under favorable conditions: flat terrain, mild temperatures, and tires at the correct pressure. With frequent hills or winter temperatures, the range decreases. If you need greater range, the second battery is stated to be compatible and allows you to double the range during the day.

How much does a full charge cost?

The battery is 48 V and 20 Ah: 48 × 20 = 960 Wh, or 0.96 kWh. At €0.25/kWh, the stored energy costs €0.24. Allowing for approximately 15% charger losses, you draw about 1.13 kWh from the outlet, so the actual cost is €0.28. Based on the stated 50 km range, that works out to about €0.56 per 100 km: the lowest running cost in the range.

How do I charge if I don’t have an outlet in my garage?

Remove the battery and take it indoors. It weighs 7 kg—the lightest battery pack in the range—and plugs into a standard 230 V household outlet. You can also recharge it while it’s mounted on the vehicle, if you have access to an outlet. Unlike larger scooters, whose battery packs weigh 13–14 kg, this operation is manageable for anyone.

Is it suitable for uneven roads or cobblestones?

Less capable than a scooter with large wheels. The 6.5-inch wheels are small and handle potholes, cobblestones, and unpaved roads poorly: the front and rear suspension help, but the wheel size remains a limitation. It is designed for urban asphalt in good condition. If your daily route is rough, consider a model with 10- or 13-inch wheels.

What brakes does it have?

Dual disc brakes, front and rear. It is the only Rolektro electric moped with a rear disc as well; the other models have a rear drum brake. On a lightweight vehicle with small wheels, braking is more abrupt, and having two discs improves lever modulation and reduces overheating during repeated braking. The manufacturer does not claim to have ABS systems.

Where can I drive? What about in restricted traffic zones?

On ordinary urban and extra-urban roads. Mopeds are prohibited from accessing motorways and major extra-urban roads. In limited traffic zones, electric vehicles generally benefit from more favorable access conditions, but the rules are decided by each municipality and vary from city to city. Check your municipality’s website before purchasing if access to the limited traffic zone is the reason you are buying.

Can I use it in the rain and leave it parked outside?

The manufacturer states that it is splash-resistant, so riding in the rain falls within normal use. However, it does not declare an IP rating, which should be verified with the manufacturer. We recommend not leaving it permanently exposed to the elements and, if you do not have a covered place, using a cover—there is a dedicated one available in the catalog. If possible, keep the battery indoors: it is lightweight and detaches in just a few seconds.

What warranty do I have, and whom should I contact for support?

24-month legal conformity warranty under the Consumer Code; batteries and wear parts are covered by a 6-month warranty. For warranty claims, always contact Endurrad customer service first: work carried out by third parties without prior consultation will void reimbursement of the costs. On-site assistance is available throughout Italy. The seller is Endurrad by Migliore Service S.R.L. and is your sole point of contact: you do not need to contact the manufacturer in Germany.
