Everything you need to know before ordering
Compatibility, included items, installation, and documents: below is every detail verified against the official Barkbusters documentation.
The BHG-113 is the Barkbusters mounting frame designed for the handlebar of the Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid, from 2022 to 2025. It is a two-point mounting kit: the aluminum bar anchors to the internal thread at the end of the handlebar and to a clamp on the straight section, forming a continuous arch around the hand.
The World Raid is built for long stretches away from home: a larger tank, more generous suspension, and raid-range autonomy. It is the kind of bike where a broken lever is not just an inconvenience but a logistical problem. Here, the handguard provides structural protection, while the plastics mounted on it add wind protection during long hours in the saddle.
Good to know before ordering: the protective plastics are not included, while the handlebar weights are included.
Main features
- Two-point mounting: the configuration the manufacturer specifies for impact protection. The single-point setup is intended only for wind and weather protection.
- Heat-treated aluminum bar: the treatment increases strength without adding weight to the structure.
- Handlebar weights included in the package, as stated by the manufacturer.
- Natural aluminum finish, unpainted.
- Four compatible plastic series: JET, VPS, STORM, and CARBON, interchangeable on the same structure.
- Made in Australia by Rideworx Pty Ltd, which has designed handguards since 1984.
Compatibility
| Brand | Model | Years | Code |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yamaha | Ténéré 700 World Raid (XTZ700) | 2022 to 2025 | BHG-113-NP |
If you have a Ténéré 700, check the year and version
| Version | Years | Barkbusters code |
|---|---|---|
| Ténéré 700 (XTZ700) | 2019-2024 | BHG-078 |
| Ténéré 700 (XTZ700) | from 2025 | BHG-131 |
| Ténéré 700 World Raid | 2022-2025 | BHG-113 (this page) |
| Ténéré 700 World Raid | from 2026 | BHG-131 |
Pay attention to the year. The World Raid has its own handlebar through 2025; from 2026 onward, it uses the updated Ténéré 700 handlebar and switches to the BHG-131. This is the easiest mistake to make with this bike, and also the most frustrating, because you only discover the wrong kit once the box is open.
Barkbusters compatibility applies to the motorcycle in its original factory configuration. Write to us with the model and year, and we will check it together.
Protection and use
The wraparound structure protects the brake lever, clutch lever, and switchgear: it withstands impacts and distributes them across the aluminum instead of leaving the lever to take the force. The plastics determine the rest:
- JET — compact profile, with the least bulk in tight sections.
- VPS — two-position adjustable deflector that can be removed in just a few minutes.
- STORM — extended coverage, the choice for long transfers and winter riding.
- CARBON — carbon fiber.
Materials and construction
Heat-treated aluminum bar, dedicated clamps and hardware, and handlebar weights. The manufacturer does not provide weight and dimensions numerically, so we do not estimate them.
Installation
Two instructions from the official manual are worth reading before you begin.
- The reference ring in the clamp. Inside the conical surface of the clamp there is a machined ring: the rings in the two halves must line up and face toward the center of the motorcycle on both sides.
- Heated grips. If you have them installed, the manufacturer states that approximately 3 mm of washers may be needed between the bar end weight and the spacer to ensure clearance from the rotating grip.
- Remove the original handguards, if fitted, and the standard bar end weights.
- Assemble the clamp on the handlebar without tightening it, maintaining the correct ring orientation.
- Attach the aluminum bar to the end of the handlebar and to the clamp connector, positioning it horizontally when viewed from the side.
- Tighten in the order specified by the manufacturer: first the bolt at the handlebar end, then the clamp bolts.
- Fit the plastics you have chosen, align them, and finish tightening.
- Check the throttle, front brake, clutch, and free steering from lock to lock, then recheck the tightening after the first 50 km.
The complete tightening torques are provided in the official Barkbusters instructions supplied with the kit and attached to this product page. The manufacturer considers handguard installation a safety-critical procedure.

Before choosing
Motorcycle dry bag: why it moves and how to keep it secure
The typical complaint is not “water got in,” but “after fifty kilometers, it was crooked.” Why a soft bag crumples, what the internal plate and vent valve actually do, and the two constraints of the Highway Code that no product page mentions.

The damage doesn’t happen in March when the motorcycle won’t start, but gradually between December and February. What is sulfation, why does almost no one use a battery maintainer, and how can it be resolved in a garage without an outlet?
