Everything you need to know before ordering

Compatibility, included items, installation, and documents: below is every detail verified against the official Barkbusters documentation.

Description Barkbusters BHG-131 handguard mounting kit for Yamaha Ténéré 700 from 2025 and World Raid from 2026

The BHG-131 is the Barkbusters mounting frame designed for the handlebar of the Yamaha Ténéré 700 (XTZ700) from 2025 and the Ténéré 700 World Raid from 2026. It is a two-point mounting kit: the aluminum bar is anchored to the handlebar end and to a clamp on the straight section, creating a continuous arch around the hand.

With the 2025 redesign, the T7 changed handlebars, and the product code changed with it. If you have the updated motorcycle, this is the kit specified by the manufacturer; if you have an earlier T7, you need a different code, as the table below makes clear.

Know this before ordering: the protective plastics are not included, while the handlebar weights are.

Key features

  • Two-point mounting: the configuration specified by the manufacturer for impact protection. The single-point setup is specified only for wind and weather protection.
  • Heat-treated aluminum bar: the treatment increases strength without adding weight to the structure.
  • Handlebar weights included in the package, as specified by the manufacturer.
  • Natural aluminum finish, unpainted.
  • Four compatible plastic handguard sets: JET, VPS, STORM and CARBON, interchangeable on the same structure.
  • Made in Australia by Rideworx Pty Ltd, which has designed handguards since 1984.

Compatibility

Brand Model Years Code
Yamaha Ténéré 700 (XTZ700) from 2025 BHG-131-NP
Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid from 2026 BHG-131-NP

If you have a Ténéré 700, check the year and version

Version Years Barkbusters code
Ténéré 700 (XTZ700) 2019-2024 BHG-078
Ténéré 700 (XTZ700) from 2025 BHG-131 (this page)
Ténéré 700 World Raid 2022-2025 BHG-113
Ténéré 700 World Raid from 2026 BHG-131 (this page)

Pay particular attention to the trickiest case: the World Raid changes code in 2026, when it adopts the updated Ténéré 700's handlebar. Up to 2025 it requires the BHG-113; from 2026, this one. It is the only point in the T7 range where two different versions converge on the same kit.

Barkbusters compatibility applies to the motorcycle in its original factory configuration. An aftermarket handlebar is a common modification on the T7: in that case, the mounting must be checked before purchase. Contact us and we will check it with you.

Protection and use

The wraparound structure protects the brake lever, clutch lever and switchgear: it withstands the impact and distributes it across the aluminum instead of leaving it to the lever. The plastics determine the rest, and on the T7 the choice is a real compromise between bulk and protection:

  • JET — compact profile, with the least bulk in tight terrain.
  • VPS — deflector adjustable to two positions, which can be removed in a few minutes.
  • STORM — extended coverage, the choice for long journeys and winter.
  • CARBON — carbon fiber.

Materials and construction

Heat-treated aluminum bar, dedicated clamps and hardware, handlebar weights. The manufacturer does not state weight and dimensions numerically, and we do not estimate them.

Installation

  1. Verify that you have a Ténéré 700 from 2025, or a World Raid from 2026, with the original handlebar.
  2. Remove the stock handlebar weights: replace them with those supplied in the kit.
  3. Mount the clamp on the straight section of the handlebar, in front of the controls, without fully tightening it.
  4. Attach the aluminum bar to the handlebar end and the clamp, then position it.
  5. Install the plastics you have chosen, align them and tighten them.
  6. Check the throttle, front brake, clutch and free steering from lock to lock, then recheck the fasteners after the first 50 km.

The tightening torques and complete installation sequence are provided in the official Barkbusters instructions supplied with the kit and attached to this product sheet.

What you will find in the package

  • Two heat-treated aluminum bars, natural finish
  • Clamps shaped for the Ténéré 700 handlebar from 2025

  • Installation instructions INS-BHG-131-NP

What is NOT included

The protective plastics, which must be ordered separately: JET-003, VPS-203, STORM STM-003 or CARBON BCF-003. EGO plastics are not compatible with this structure.

Why choose Barkbusters

Barkbusters is a brand of Rideworx Pty Ltd, an Australian company that has produced handguards since 1984 and was founded in enduro. On the Ténéré 700, it is one of the most widely fitted accessories in the world, and the reason is simple: a structure designed for the specific motorcycle, interchangeable plastics, and a new code when the motorcycle changes handlebars instead of an improvised adaptation.

Why buy it from Endurrad

Endurrad is a shop for adventure, touring and enduro motorcycle accessories: the Ténéré 700 is exactly the type of motorcycle we exist for. You will find the Barkbusters range with compatibility checked against the official documentation, code by code, as well as all accessories for the Yamaha Ténéré 700. Free shipping in Italy on orders over €100, returns within 14 days, 1-year warranty.

Why choose it
  • Protezione dagli impatti dichiarata.
  • Prodotto in Australia.
Who is it recommended for

Assembly and documents

  4. Fissa la barra in alluminio all'estremità del manubrio e al morsetto, poi portala in posizione.
