Barkbusters BHG-140 handguard mounting kit for Voge DS900X, black

The BHG-140-BK is the Barkbusters mounting kit designed for the Voge DS900X, with black bars and clamps. It is the structure onto which Barkbusters plastics are mounted: by itself, it protects levers and hands from impacts; with the plastics, it adds protection from wind, cold, and rain.

Protection and use

Barkbusters clearly distinguishes between the two mounting configurations, and the two-point configuration, anchored both at the end and at the center of the handlebar, is the one the manufacturer specifies for impact protection. On the DS900X, a touring adventure bike, this means levers protected from falls and hands protected during transfers.

Materials and construction

Black aluminum bars (manufacturer code BAR-BV020), black CFS-ADV-24-BK frame clamps, and BESF2 threaded inserts. The manufacturer does not state the kit's weight, so we do not list it.

Compatibility

* The fitting instructions indicate the DS900X from 2025, while the official kit catalog indicates it from 2024. If your motorcycle is a 2024 model, contact us before ordering. For the 300 Rally, DS525X, and DS800X Rally, the kit is the BHG-141.

The manufacturer specifies that fitting tests are carried out on standard motorcycles, with the original handlebar and windshield in the factory position.

Installation

Remove the original handguards and handlebar weight, if fitted. Fit the clamp without tightening it, secure the bar at the end with the threaded insert, handlebar weight, and washer, then align the clamp with the hole at the end of the bar and insert the screw. With the bar horizontal when viewed from the side, tighten in this order: end screw, bar screw, then the two clamp screws together, to keep the gap with the half-shell even.

Specified torque values: 10 Nm for the M6 screws and 28 Nm for the M8 screws. The torque for the threaded insert is not specified in the instructions: follow the sheet included in the package. Use medium-strength threadlocker, check after the first 50 km, and leave approximately 3 mm of clearance between the throttle grip and handguard.
