In brief. The Cyclone RX628 is the new mid-capacity twin-cylinder adventure bike from the Cyclone brand, part of Chinese group Zongshen. It arrived in Europe at EICMA 2026 after its first appearance at the CIMA show in Chongqing in September. It has a 581 cc parallel twin with a 270° crank, around 64 hp and 58 Nm, 21- and 18-inch tubeless spoked wheels, KYB suspension, Nissin brakes and an 18-liter tank. It is the direct successor to the RX600, which has 19- and 17-inch wheels and a more road-focused setup.
What’s still missing: the Italian price and official European technical specifications. MotorBox reports that it will arrive at dealerships from March 2027. Here you’ll find the figures and their sources, what’s different from the RX600, a comparison with the mid-size adventure bikes unveiled at EICMA, and accessories that make sense right away for touring.
Cyclone brings a 600-class adventure bike with 21- and 18-inch wheels to EICMA
After the RX600, designed mainly for asphalt and gravel roads, Cyclone is stepping up with a bike aimed squarely at adventure touring off-road.

Cyclone is the brand under which Zongshen, one of Chongqing’s major manufacturers, sells mid-capacity motorcycles outside China. It arrived in Italy in summer 2025 with an exclusive importer, Moto Bologna Passione, a Keeway Italia group company, and a lineup that included the RX600 crossover and RX650 tourer. The RX628 is the brand’s first adventure bike truly designed for off-road riding: its 21-inch front wheel, tubeless spoked wheels and Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires, with their aggressive tread, rather than simple road-oriented “on/off” tires, make that clear.
The bike was first shown in September at the CIMA Motor Show in Chongqing, Zongshen’s home show, with a “coming soon” sign. Its European unveiling took place at EICMA 2026 on November 4. The name follows Cyclone’s naming logic, which uses the number to indicate the model family, not the exact engine capacity: the engine is actually 581 cc.
The main figures match, but the European spec sheet has not yet been published
Cyclone has not yet released a technical press kit for Europe. The figures come from the sign at the CIMA show and publications present at the launches: we indicate the source for each one.

How to read these figures. Engine displacement, power, torque, tank, wheels, and components match across all sources, and we report them as figures stated by Cyclone. Weight, seat height, ground clearance, and dimensions come from the sign at the Chinese CIMA show: the European version may differ in some values after homologation. Screen size is inconsistent (5 or 7 inches), and we will confirm it against the official spec sheet. Some publications link the engine to the 581 cm³ twin already seen on other Chinese motorcycles: Cyclone has not confirmed this, so we cannot treat it as certain.

Compared to the RX600, the wheels, engine, and purpose are different
The RX628 isn’t a restyling: it’s the same idea of an affordable touring motorcycle, shifted toward off-road riding.

The RX600 currently available at Italian dealerships has a 549 cm³, 59 hp parallel twin, 19- and 17-inch wheels, and weighs 230 kg in running order. At launch in July 2025, it cost €5,890. It’s a crossover that feels at home on asphalt and can handle gravel roads, but with a 17-inch rear wheel and a 19-inch front, it wasn’t designed for off-roading.
That’s where the RX628 changes things. The wheels go to 21 and 18 inches, the size that now defines mid-size adventure bikes with off-road ambitions, and the original-equipment tires are Pirelli Scorpion Rally STRs, with proper knobby tread that works much better on dirt than a road tire. The engine grows to 581 cm³, gains about 5 hp and adopts a 270° crankshaft, giving the parallel twin stronger low-end power and more predictable traction on loose surfaces. The front end also changes: according to motomag.gr, the single central headlight is replaced by two stacked lights, in the style of the smaller RX2 125.
The trade-off is weight: 236 kg with a full tank, according to CIMA figures, 6 kg more than the RX600. That’s a high figure for a motorcycle with a 21-inch front wheel, as we’ll see when we compare it with its rivals.

Touring equipment usually found on a higher-class motorcycle
On paper, the RX628 comes with almost everything touring riders usually buy separately: heated accessories, a camera, radar, tire pressure sensors.

The electronics package is the real selling point. MotorBox lists three riding modes: Road, Offroad and Offroad+, the latter with ABS active only on the front wheel, so you can lock the rear wheel on loose surfaces, downhill and in corners. Traction control can be switched off. Standard equipment includes a Full HD 1080p front dashcam, a feature we’ve so far seen on only a few motorcycles in Europe.
Motoblog and the Greek publications also mention rear blind-spot radar, heated grips and seat, tire pressure sensors, an emergency braking signal, an 18 W USB-C port, smartphone connectivity and a helmet intercom, as well as an adjustable windscreen. The displayed bike was also fitted with a set of three aluminum cases and a luggage rack: it is not yet clear whether these will be part of the standard equipment or the accessories catalog for Italy.
- Three riding modes, one with front-only ABS for off-road riding
- Switchable traction control
- 1080p front dashcam and rear blind-spot radar
- Heated grips and seat, pressure sensors
- 18 W USB-C, smartphone connectivity and helmet intercom

For touring riders, the difference is tangible: heated grips, pressure sensors and a camera are accessories that cost a few hundred euros on many rivals. The downside is the weight and complexity: more electronics mean more things to check after a fall or a water crossing, and a service network that needs to know how to handle them.
At 236 kg, the RX628 is the heaviest of the new middleweight adventure bikes
At EICMA 2026, the 500-700 cm³ segment was packed with new models. Here’s where the Cyclone fits, based on the data available today.
| Model | Engine | Power | Wheels | Weight | Price in Italy |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cyclone RX628 | 581 cm³ twin-cylinder | 64 hp | 21″ and 18″ | 236 kg fully fueled | Not disclosed |
| CFMOTO 550MT-X | 526 cm³ twin-cylinder | 54 hp | 21″ and 18″ | 172 kg dry | Not disclosed |
| Benelli TRK 602 X | 554 cm³ twin-cylinder | 56 hp | 19″ and 17″ | Not disclosed | Not disclosed |
| Benda Capra 700 | 691.66 cm³ V-twin | 73.4 hp | 21″ and 18″ | 220 kg | Not disclosed |
| Cyclone RX600 | 549 cm³ twin-cylinder | 59 hp | 19″ and 17″ | 230 kg curb weight | 5.890 € (2025) |

The closest comparison is with the CFMOTO 550MT-X, unveiled on the same days: the same wheel sizes, less power (54 hp versus 64) and a stated dry weight of 172 kg. The two weights are not strictly comparable, because the CFMOTO figure excludes fuel and fluids, but even after adding around 13 kg for 18 liters of fuel and the fluids, the difference remains substantial. The Cyclone counters with more horsepower and a richer equipment package.
The Benelli TRK 602 X sticks with 19- and 17-inch wheels and is more road-focused, while the Benda Capra 700 has more displacement and power, at a weight of 220 kg. Between the two, the RX628 positions itself as the best-equipped option in its class; its value for money will depend on the price, which none of the manufacturers has announced for Italy yet.
Rival specifications come from press releases and spec sheets already verified in Endurrad articles on CFMOTO 550MT and 550MT-X, Benelli TRK 602 X and Benda Capra 700. The Capra 700's weight is listed as “curb” in the English press release.
It's the bike for those who want everything as standard and don't mind a few extra kilos
The available data already give an idea of who the RX628 might appeal to and who would be better off waiting for a test ride.

- You ride on paved roads and gravel roads and want a 21-inch wheel for off-road riding
- You also ride in winter: heated grips and seat are standard
- You want a dashcam and radar without having to install them later
- You're moving up from a 500 and want a step up without exceeding 70 kW
- It is not a lightweight enduro bike: you feel the 236 kg on tight off-road trails
- It does not yet have an established service network like the historic brands
- It currently has no third-party accessories listed as compatible
With an 850 mm seat height, the RX628 is not a bike for riders with short legs, but it is in line with adventure bikes with a 21-inch front wheel. Its 48 kW of power remains below the 70 kW limit that allows a bike to be restricted for an A2 license: Cyclone has not yet announced a 35 kW version, however.

Price, European type approval and warranty are the missing answers
Some details that were still unavailable at EICMA are needed before drawing a final conclusion.
Still to be confirmed. The price for Italy has not been announced. The March 2027 arrival is mentioned only by MotorBox. Suspension travel, claimed fuel consumption and therefore range, the final screen size, and the list of standard equipment for the European version are still unknown, including the aluminum cases on the motorcycle shown. No A2 version has been announced.
With an 18-liter tank, range will depend heavily on fuel consumption, which Cyclone has not declared: for a twin-cylinder engine of this size, a realistic reference figure is 4.5 to 5 liters per 100 km, but this is our estimate, not a manufacturer figure. We'll update this article when the importer publishes the technical specifications and price list.
Accessories: none are model-specific yet, but three things are already useful
For a newly unveiled motorcycle, no frames, luggage cases or protective gear have been declared compatible yet. Here's what to wait for and what you can use right away.
Side frames, crash bars and skid plates depend on the frame's mounting points: buying them before a manufacturer declares them compatible with the RX628 is the quickest way to waste money. However, some accessories are model-independent and travelers carry them anyway, especially with tubeless spoked wheels.
- Use
- Repairing a puncture with plugs without removing the wheel
- Why it suits the RX628
- The spoked wheels are tubeless: a puncture can be repaired on the spot
- Good to know
- Emergency repair: the tire should then be checked by a tire specialist
- Use
- Inflation and pressure adjustment
- Why it suits the RX628
- With the Scorpion Rally STR tires, deflate for off-road riding and reinflate for the road; completes the T10 kit
- Specifications
- 150 PSI, 35 L/min, 294 g
- Use
- Main luggage to secure on the passenger seat or luggage rack
- Why it suits the RX628
- Strap fastening, no dedicated frames required
- Good to know
- Check the mounting points when the motorcycle arrives at the dealership

For other luggage solutions without racks, check out the motorcycle tail bags and seat bags. Heated grips and pressure sensors are already standard, so no extras are needed; to protect your hands off-road, once the handlebar mounting points are known, the Barkbusters handguards are the go-to.
