The WANDERER 50L is the rear bag designed for travelers: spacious, sturdy, and waterproof thanks to its roll-top closure and sealed seams. It can be mounted on the saddle, rack or on top of the side panniers with quick and secure fastenings.

Is it really waterproof? Yes, the dry-bag construction and roll-top closure protect against rain and splashes. For heavy rain, make at least 3 turns before closing the buckles.

It's not the right choice if:you need a fordable or submersible bag, because IPX6 covers heavy rain and jets but not submersion. And if you need more than 50 liters, this model does not come in other sizes.

Mounting with the quick-release strap

LOBOO indicates two methods. In the first, the four ends of the strap are fastened to the anchor points on both sides of the tail and hooked to the buckles of the bag. In the second, the strap passes through the bag's webbing and directly ties it down. In both cases, the sequence is the same: fasten, hook, tension.

Two LOBOO warnings worth taking seriously

  • The attachment points must remain clear of the exhaust pipe. Webbing resting on a hot exhaust will fail in a few minutes.
  • Excess webbing should be gathered and secured with velcro. A loose end that reaches the wheel or chain is the most trivial way to end up off-road.

Use and maintenance

  • Close the roll-top with three turns and hook the two buckles: the seal guarantees waterproofing, the magnet only serves to align the flaps.
  • Respect the maximum load indicated by the manufacturer for the luggage rack or passenger seat, and the overall load capacity of the motorcycle.
  • The load must not cover the license plate and tail lights nor protrude beyond the limits of the Highway Code.
  • Clean with water and neutral detergent, and let air dry before storing rolled up.

How does it work, in detail?

The flaw with almost all dry bags is that they work when fully loaded, but as soon as you fill them halfway, they crumple. And you can't strap down a crumpled bag: you pull, the webbing sinks into a fold, you let go, and after twenty kilometers it's already crooked.

The Wanderer has a removable U-shaped support plate that keeps its shape whether full or empty. The straps work against a stable volume, the load doesn't shift, and the bag maintains a clean line on the motorcycle's tail. If you need more space in your luggage on the way back, the plate slides out and the bag becomes a sack again.

The closure requires three rolls and two buckles: they are what ensure the IPX6 rating, not the magnet. The magnet simply brings the edges together on the first try, even with winter gloves on and when it’s raining and you’re in a hurry to get going again.

There’s a pressure-release valve on the side. Once you’ve closed it, open the valve and press down: the trapped air escapes, the volume compacts, and the straps become taut again. This is the step that eliminates the typical drawback of an inflated dry bag—the way it shifts on the saddle every time you brake.

The magnetic strip embedded in the closure edge is protected by a utility model patent, number ZL 2019 2 1740293.1. This is not brochure fluff: it means the system exists only here.

There are two alternatives on the market, and LOBOO compares them without mincing words. The waterproof zipper is cumbersome to use with gloves and ages badly: it is the first component to seize up. Exposed hook-and-loop fastener has a hook surface that damages technical clothing and loses effectiveness with use, all the faster the more mud it collects.

The magnet does not keep out water: that is handled by the three rolls and two buckles. The magnet simply brings the edges together on the first try, even with winter gloves on and even when it is raining and you are in a hurry.

The fabric is composite TPU on an 840D mesh, 0.65 mm thick. The difference from cheap PVC is not visible in the shop—it shows on the first mountain pass below freezing, when PVC stiffens, the roll-top becomes hard to roll, and the folds begin to crack.

TPU stays soft and continues to flex where it needs to. It is also more abrasion-resistant, which matters when the bag rubs against the frame or rack over every bump.

Inside, there is a dedicated pocket for separating wet and dry items: the soaked rain gear and dirty clothes go on one side, while the sleeping bag and clean change of clothes go on the other. Anyone who has slept in a tent with a damp sleeping bag knows how valuable that is.

A warning LOBOO includes—and one we are happy to repeat—is that the quick-access external pockets on the front, back, and top are water-resistant but not IPX6-rated. They are handy for a tube of sunscreen or a map, but not for your phone, documents, or electronics. Those belong in the main compartment, beneath the roll-top’s three folds.

The dual shoulder straps come out of a dedicated compartment, allowing you to carry the bag on your back. It is useful for the final stretch on foot to a mountain hut or campsite, and in the evening at a hotel, when the alternative is transferring everything into a duffel bag or making three trips from the parking lot.

The laser-cut MOLLE system on the outside accommodates pouches, first-aid kits, tool holders, or water bottles, including those from other brands. The reflective strips on the sides work at night: when a bag is mounted, the first surface a car sees in its mirror is no longer the motorcycle's taillight.

What is the air vent valve used for?

Expel the air remaining inside after closing. An inflated bag moves and slides on the saddle; expelling the air reduces its volume, compacts the load, and keeps the bag in place where you secured it.

How does wet and dry separation work?

There is an integrated inner pocket for storing sweaty base layers or wet garments, keeping them separate from clean clothes. It’s the detail you appreciate on the second day of a trip, not the first.
