LOBOO summarizes the Alps in nine points: protection with an inflatable system, cable anti-theft device with lock, quick-release mount, expandable MOLLE system, waterproof TPU fabric, high frame compatibility, airtight zippers, lightness, and reflective strips.

Each is explained in the boxes on this page with the data provided by the manufacturer. The weight is not specified: “lightweight” is LOBOO's indication, not a number.

The valve is one-way and has an integrated pump: no compressor or pump to carry with you.

• Close the zipper after packing the suitcase
• Open the valve by pressing the switch diagonally
• Compress the pump several times, waiting each time for it to return to its shape, until the suitcase is full
• Close the valve by pressing the upper front part of the switch

There is no need to pressurize it: once inflated to capacity, it stays full for more than 6 hours. To deflate it, there is no exhaust valve: open the watertight zipper. Any operation other than those indicated in the manual will damage the valve.

The manufacturer states that the protection lasts at least 6 hours per inflation. In practice, it covers a full day of travel: inflate it in the morning before departure and check it again during the long stop.

The suitcase remains usable even when deflated, simply without the cushioning effect. It is advisable to keep it inflated, though: when inflated, it supports the stated 300 kg and maintains its shape under load.

The fabric is a composite TPU over 840D mesh, 0.6 mm thick, sealed with an airtight waterproof zipper: it is the same closure used for inflation, and the manufacturer’s stated rating is IPX7.

The zipper has an auxiliary zipper pull and a T-shaped slider because a waterproof closure offers resistance: operate it by pinching the slider between your index and middle fingers while holding the handle with your other hand. The lubricant provided, applied occasionally, keeps it moving smoothly.

An airtight zipper is inherently stiffer than a regular zipper. LOBOO makes it easier to open and close with two features: an auxiliary ring to hold with the other hand and a T-shaped slider.

Grip the slider with your index and middle fingers while keeping the zipper and ring horizontal; alternatively, hold the suitcase handle and pull the slider. The manual instructs you to always close it completely, keep it free of mud and sand, and lubricate it with the supplied lubricant.

The suitcase straps fasten with Duraflex buckles, which LOBOO describes as chosen for durability and comfort in everyday use.

The zipper is airtight, making inflation possible: the suitcase inflates only when the zipper is closed and deflates when it is opened, because the valve lets air in but not out.

On the front panel, there are reflective strips that make the suitcase visible at night when illuminated by the headlights of vehicles behind it.

On the top, there are expansion loops for securing additional cargo on top of the suitcase, such as a rolled-up tent, without taking up interior space.

On the outside, the case has a MOLLE panel, the webbing grid used in technical equipment to attach pouches and accessories.

LOBOO states that it is compatible with MOLLE attachments from other brands: you can add a bottle holder pouch or a tool pouch on the outside without opening the case.

The case detaches from the mount by hand: the mount remains on the motorcycle, while the case can be carried into the hotel. That is the practical difference between a soft bag secured with straps and a genuine side case.

The steel anti-theft cable with cylinder lock protects against anyone approaching the motorcycle while it is parked. The cylinder can be keyed alike to the same key as the LOBOO aluminum cases: this must be requested when placing the order by specifying the key number.

The quick-release mount works with side pannier racks featuring a rectangular profile and an 18 mm tube, with a center-to-center width between 307 and 362 mm and a height between 180 and 207 mm. It fits directly onto the original BMW R 1200 GS and R 1250 GS racks and the LOBOO TIBET and PIKE TRACKER series.

Racks with an irregular or raised profile, those with a different tube diameter, and those where the exhaust outlet is aligned with the pannier are not compatible: LOBOO specifically cites the Honda CB400X, CB500X, NX400, and NX500. Measure your rack before ordering.

The panel concerns the new version of the rack: 18 mm tube, with a width spacing of 307 to 362 mm and a height spacing of 145 to 222 mm, achieved using two plate-mounting methods.

However, LOBOO ships either the old or the new version at random. To choose safely, use the range valid for both: 307–362 mm in width and 180–207 mm in height. If your frame falls within that range, the case can be mounted regardless of which version arrives.

The system consists of three pieces: the inflatable bag, the mounting pocket, and the nylon and aluminum support plate. The plate arrives already assembled, but before the first installation it must be adapted to your frame and the selected capacity.

Loosen the six attachments with the included T25 key, place the plate against the frame, and tighten them in sequence: first the two lower hooks, then the two side blocks, and finally the two upper hooks, to 5 N·m. The manual asks you to keep them as close as possible to the four corners of the frame, for load capacity and stability.

Then pass the pocket's Velcro strap through the holes in the plate: the label has two positions, one for the 23 L and one for the 30 L.

On many motorcycles with a protruding side exhaust, the original pannier frame is flared outward to make room for the exhaust. This flare must be compensated for; otherwise, the pannier will not sit flat. The BDPQ01LBK spacers provide this compensation.

They are needed for the BMW R 1200 and R 1250 GS, KTM 1290 Super Adventure, Honda Africa Twin, and generally all motorcycles with this geometry. They are not needed for the BMW R 1300 GS and R 1300 GS Adventure, which have symmetrical frames: the pannier already sits correctly on these models.

Select them directly from the configuration menu above. If you are unsure whether your motorcycle needs them, send us a photo of the frame from the exhaust side.

Look at your luggage rack from the exhaust side. If the tube is straight and runs behind the muffler, you do not need anything. If, instead, the rack curves outward to clear the muffler, that curve needs to be compensated for: without spacers, the luggage will not sit level.

The spacers can be adjusted between 49.5 and 71 mm and can be added directly from the configuration menu above. They are needed for the BMW R 1200 and R 1250 GS, KTM 1290 Super Adventure, Honda Africa Twin, and all motorcycles with the same geometry.

If in doubt, send us a photo of the rack from the exhaust side: it will be clear immediately.

LOBOO indicates three cases in which the rack cannot be installed.

First: the exhaust outlet is aligned with the pannier, as on the Honda CB400X, CB500X, NX400, and NX500. Second: side frames with an irregular or raised profile. Third: tubes with a diameter other than 18 mm.

In the updated notice, LOBOO lists the Honda CB400X, CB500X, NX400, and NX500, as well as similar models, as temporarily incompatible, and announces compatibility updates.

On the BMW R 1300 GS (from 2023) and R 1300 GS Adventure (from 2024) with the short-exhaust version, installation instead requires the LOBOO CPQ131 exhaust deflector, sold separately.

This panel is an earlier version of the LOBOO notice: it also listed the BMW R 1300 GS and R 1300 GS Adventure with short exhausts among the temporarily incompatible models.

The updated notice considers them compatible with the CPQ131 deflector: that is the one to follow. The panel does confirm, however, that the old and new versions are shipped at random and shows how to identify them from the front label.

LOBOO ships either the old or new version at random. The front label, some cosmetic details, and the internal mounting system differ; the new version offers two methods instead of one.

The capacity, materials, dimensions, and performance are identical, and the center-to-center distances we publish apply to both versions. You cannot choose which one you receive: if this matters to you, contact us before ordering and we’ll check what we have in stock.

The support bracket is rated for 12 kg per side on asphalt and 8 kg on uneven ground. The difference is not a matter of caution: off-road, the stresses on the mounting point greatly exceed the static weight of the luggage.

The external MOLLE panel and expansion loops allow you to attach pouches, bottle holders, or a tent without drilling anything, and the support also accepts panniers from other brands measuring 360–420 × 150–200 × 380–440 mm.

The quick-release mount is not specific to Alps panniers. LOBOO states that it is compatible with side bags from other brands measuring 360 to 420 mm in length, 150 to 200 mm in width, and 380 to 440 mm in height.

Useful if you already have a soft bag you’re fond of and just want a quick-release attachment for the frame.

This LOBOO panel shows the case secured to the rear seat with quick-release straps, sold separately.

However, the 2026 user manual specifies the product for mounting only on the side pannier rack. The manual takes precedence: on Endurrad, the Alps are side-frame cases, and the manufacturer’s technical documentation does not provide for use on the seat.

LOBOO states that it tested the Alps over 13,000 miles on the road, including a rollover test and a load test.

These are the manufacturer's internal tests, not a certification. The limits to observe remain those in the manual: 12 kg per side on asphalt and 8 kg on uneven terrain.

They are mounting examples, not a compatibility list: what matters is the side frame, an 18 mm tube, and the wheelbase within the specified range.

On the KTM 1290 Super Adventure, the frame is flared around the exhaust and the BDPQ01LBK spacers are required; not on the R 1300 GS Adventure, but the short-exhaust version requires the CPQ131 deflector.
