All you need to know before ordering

Technical specifications, equipment, delivery, and warranty: find every detail, verified against official LOBOO documentation, below.

Description BMW R 1300 GS side case frames

Pair of LOBOO JP131B side frames for the BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 onward, with crossbar, brackets, and mounting hardware. Panniers are not included.

Which panniers they support

The manual lists the PIKE TRACKER and CONQUEROR series; they also support the semi-rigid WANDERER panniers, which require an 18 mm tube.

  • PIKE TRACKER hard panniers — P37L + P37R or P45L + P45R
  • CONQUEROR — hard panniers in the series
  • WANDERER semi-rigid panniers — 40 L + 40 L

The R 1300 GS allows symmetrical loading: the same volume on both sides, with balanced weight.

How they are installed

No drilling is required. However, the manual calls for removing some original components on both sides, including the seat, with one area to be restored once the work is complete: these are reversible operations, using the included hardware and tool.

The package contains 22 components. LOBOO recommends not fully tightening during assembly, but first checking alignment, clearances, and symmetry, and only then tightening in sequence to 12 N·m on the M6 bolts and 20 N·m on the M8 bolts. The manual is available in eight languages, including Italian, and can be downloaded from this page.

The restriction to know before ordering

The mounting system is proprietary: LOBOO panniers can only be mounted on LOBOO frames, and these frames support only LOBOO panniers. On the R 1300 GS with a short exhaust, the CPQ131 deflector is also required and is sold separately.

Material

The JP131B manual does not specify the material. We prefer to say so rather than choose one ourselves: if you need the confirmed specification, write to us and we will verify it with the distributor.

For the R 1300 GS Adventure, the JP151B frames are required and are listed on a separate page: the geometry is not interchangeable. If you are starting from scratch, the Wanderer Semi-Rigid Pannier kit for the R 1300 GS already includes these frames.

Why choose it
  • Symmetrical load:allows for P37 plus P37 or P45 plus P45 configurations, for balanced weight on both sides.
  • Multi-system base:accepts rigid PIKE TRACKER, semi-rigid WANDERER, and ALPS bags.
  • Plug-and-play mounting:R 1300 GS OEM points, no drilling required.
  • Rigid steel structure:close-fitting profile to the motorcycle and stability when fully loaded.
Who is it recommended for

These frames are suitable if you have a standard R 1300 GS and:

  • You already own LOBOO panniers and only need the frames
  • You want the option to alternate between hard and semi-rigid panniers on the same base

If you have the R 1300 GS Adventure, you need the JP151B frames, on a separate page: different geometry and additional compatibility with CONQUEROR panniers.

If you are starting from scratch, the Wanderer Semi-rigid Pannier kit for R 1300 GS already includes these frames.

Documents and manufacturer

Assembly and Notes

  • Plug-and-play installation on OEM points, no drilling or permanent modifications.
  • Respect the maximum load per side frame indicated by BMW in the motorcycle's manual.
  • Recheck the tightening after the first 100-200 km and periodically during the season.
  • Panniers are not included: the frames are the sole support structure.

How does it work, in detail?

Symmetrical configuration for the R 1300 GS

Symmetrical configuration for the R 1300 GS

The JP131B frames allow the symmetrical loading that the R 1300 GS supports: PIKE TRACKER P37 plus P37 or P45 plus P45, and WANDERER 40 plus 40 L. Balanced weight on both sides and more neutral handling with the motorcycle fully loaded.

Steel, a profile that fits closely to the motorcycle, and plug-and-play installation on the OEM mounting points.

Equal-sized compartments on both sides: 37+37 or 45+45

Equal-sized compartments on both sides: 37+37 or 45+45

Most adventure bikes require asymmetrical panniers because the exhaust silencer takes up space on the right side. Not here: the exhaust geometry allows two identical panniers, 37+37 or 45+45, for up to 90 liters.

You notice the advantage when loading. With equal volumes, you can distribute the weight without thinking about it, and the bike remains neutral even fully loaded. With asymmetrical panniers, you always have to remember which side the heavier luggage goes on.

Matt black or polished silver, with the panniers sold separately.

The frame comes before the suitcase

The frame comes before the suitcase

The frames are the part that transfers the load’s weight to the motorcycle’s chassis. They determine whether the system can handle the load and should be chosen before the panniers.

JP131B, not JP151B: the check to be performed

JP131B, not JP151B: the check to be performed

These frames are intended for the standard R 1300 GS. The Adventure version has a different rear subframe and requires the JP151B.

The two codes are not interchangeable: this is the most common ordering mistake in the R 1300 range, and it can be avoided in ten seconds by checking the registration document.

I decided later which type of suitcase to install.

The JP131B accepts aluminum PIKE TRACKER panniers in the symmetrical 37+37 and 45+45 configurations, as well as 40+40-liter WANDERER semi-rigid panniers.

Buying the frame first keeps your options open: you can change the type or capacity of the panniers without rebuilding the structure.

It fits the top-case mounting plate.

It fits the top-case mounting plate.

The frames work on the sides, while the plate attaches to the rear subframe: they are complementary products that together complete the luggage system.

You can install them at the same time or add the plate later, without altering anything already installed.

Maximum load and tightening torques

Maximum load and tightening torques

BMW specifies a maximum load for each pannier that includes the case and everything you put in it: this is the limit that really matters, more than the capacity in liters.

After the first 100–200 km, check the fasteners again: the structure settles, and off-road use puts more stress on the mounts through vibration than riding the same distance on asphalt.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

I have the R 1300 GS with the short exhaust: do I need anything else?

Yes. LOBOO’s documentation indicates that on the R 1300 GS and GS Adventure with the short exhaust, installing the pannier racks also requires the CPQ131 exhaust deflector, available on a separate page for €28.50. Without it, the installation will not be correct. If you’re unsure which exhaust version you have, contact us and we’ll verify it together before you place the order.

Which panniers can I mount on the frames for the R 1300 GS?

JP131B frames accept PIKE TRACKER bags in the symmetrical P37L plus P37R or P45L plus P45R configurations, the semi-rigid WANDERER 40 L plus 40 L bags, and ALPS bags. The cases are not included and must be purchased separately.

Will they also fit the R 1300 GS Adventure?

No. The GS Adventure requires the JP151B frames, designed for its geometry and also compatible with the CONQUEROR cases. They are available on a separate page.

Is the product covered by a warranty?

Yes: all LOBOO products sold on Endurrad are covered by the 24-month statutory consumer warranty. In the event of a lack of conformity, we will handle the claim with the manufacturer.

Can I return the product if it isn’t suitable?
