Description BMW R 1300 GS Side Cases
Complete kit for BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 onward: a pair of JP131B side racks with mounting hardware, plus two PIKE TRACKER aluminum panniers in a symmetrical 37+37 or 45+45 configuration, in the selected finish.
The R 1300 GS’s geometry allows two panniers of equal capacity, which was not possible on the previous generation because of the exhaust: on the R 1250, the constraint requires 45 liters on the left and 38 on the right.
Pay attention to the version: this kit uses JP131B racks, designed for the standard R 1300 GS. The R 1300 GS Adventure requires the kit with JP151B racks, listed on a separate page: the two are not interchangeable, and this is the most common ordering mistake for this motorcycle.
How to choose the configuration
- 37+37 — keeps the motorcycle narrower: it passes more easily between cars, fits into tight garages, and is less noticeable on technical sections
- 45+45 — 90 liters of total capacity for long trips or two-up riding, but makes the motorcycle wider
LOBOO specifies a maximum load of 10 kg per side pannier for both configurations.
Construction
- High-strength aluminum, with the lower corners protected by structural plastic bumpers
- Key lock with a five-wafer cylinder, removable and replaceable without changing the pannier
- Scratch-resistant inner lining and 3M reflective inserts on the outer side
- Finishes: polished silver or matte black, with the same construction
LOBOO states that the series is water- and dust-resistant, but does not publish an IP rating: we do not list one because it is not a manufacturer-certified specification.
Three pannier series on the same racks
The JP131B manual lists them for the PIKE TRACKER and CONQUEROR series; they also support the WANDERER semi-rigid 40+40-liter panniers, which require an 18 mm tube. If you want to change pannier type in the future, the racks can remain in place.
Installation
No drilling is required. However, the manual calls for removing some original components on both sides, including the seat, with an area to be restored once the work is complete. LOBOO recommends checking alignment, play, and symmetry before final tightening, which must be done in sequence at 12 N·m on the M6 bolts and 20 N·m on the M8 bolts. With the short exhaust, the CPQ131 deflector is also required and is sold separately.
What is not included
The top case and its rear mounting plate are purchased separately. The LR06 LED light with sensor is supplied by LOBOO only with the three-pannier set, so it is not included in this kit.
