Aluminum side case kit for the BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 onward: a pair of JP131B side racks and two identical PIKE TRACKER cases, available in 37+37 or 45+45 liters, in glossy silver or matte black. One order gets you the racks and cases already matched.

On the R 1300 GS, the exhaust leaves room for two cases of the same size: the weight remains balanced on both sides, and the load is distributed effortlessly.

37 or 45 liters: what's the difference?

The length and height are the same; the width changes. Dimensions declared by LOBOO for one case:

  • P37: interior 490 × 230 × 362 mm, external dimensions with accessories 540 × 272 × 388 mm, 6.2 kg.
  • P45: interior 490 × 280 × 362 mm, external dimensions with accessories 540 × 321 × 388 mm, 6.5 kg.

The 37-liter cases keep the bike narrower, while the 45-liter cases provide 90 liters in total for long trips or two-up riding.

How the cases are made

  • High-strength aluminum alloy, designed to absorb impacts and protect the bike's subframe and its contents.
  • Riveted construction: damaged components can be replaced individually without replacing the case.
  • Corner protectors made of high-strength technical plastic, with large chamfers.
  • Water resistance provided by rivets, rubber seals, and structural adhesive: LOBOO also claims protection in heavy rain, without publishing an IP rating.
  • Flocked lining inside, a bag in the lid of the left case, and a mesh pocket in the right one.
  • Sensor light in each case: it turns on automatically, is magnetic, has four brightness levels and a flashing mode, is IP54-rated, and comes with a strap for use as a headlamp.

Nine-point mounting

The cases and racks connect at nine points, using the quick-release system covered by utility model patent ZL 2017 2 0624675.2. LOBOO states that the mounting does not develop play with use, keeps the cases in place in the event of a fall or slide, and allows them to detach in a severe frontal impact. The rack attachment points feature a shock-absorbing structure that protects the subframe.

Does it fit the R 1300 GS Adventure?

No. This kit uses the JP131B racks, designed for the standard R 1300 GS. For the Adventure, there is the side case kit for the R 1300 GS Adventure, with JP151B racks.

Rack installation

The JP131B manual contains sixteen illustrated steps, with no drilling required: remove the seat, replace the passenger footpeg brackets with those supplied in the kit, secure the racks, and finish by installing the crossbar behind the license plate. Torque settings: 12 N·m for the M6 bolts and 20 N·m for the M8 bolts, using the included threadlocker. With the short exhaust, the CPQ131 deflector is also required and is sold separately.

Top case and three-case system

The top case is not included. To install one, LOBOO offers the top case plate for the original luggage rack, the reinforced luggage rack, or the sliding upper luggage rack, which accommodate the PIKE TRACKER aluminum top cases.

If you already have the racks, the cases alone are available on the PIKE TRACKER aluminum cases page. The same JP131B racks also accept the CONQUEROR, WANDERER, and ALPS inflatable bags. LOBOO does not specify a maximum load per case; the limit stated by BMW for the motorcycle applies.

On the R 1300 GS, the PIKE TRACKER panniers are symmetrical: the same size on the left and right, 37+37 or 45+45 liters. The weight is distributed evenly, keeping the motorcycle balanced.

Assembly and Notes

  • The kit includes side racks and a pair of panniers: the top case and its plate are not included.
  • Please respect the maximum load per side rack indicated by BMW in the manual: with the 45+45 configuration, the limit is reached more easily.
  • Recheck the tightening after the first 100-200 km.
  • The load must not cover the license plate and tail lights or extend beyond the limits of the Highway Code.

How to choose the configuration:

  • 37+37:Keeps the bike narrower, enough for multi-day trips.
  • 45+45:90 liters total for long trips or two-up riding, but widens the bike.

Please note the version:This kit uses JP131B frames, dedicated to the standard R 1300 GS. For the R 1300 GS Adventure, the kit with JP151B frames is required, available on a separate page.

If you prefer semi-rigid bags, the same frames accept the WANDERER BCB4040TBK with 40+40 liters capacity.
