The BHG-095 is the Barkbusters mounting kit designed for the handlebar of the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 from 2022 onward, which the manufacturer lists as the Tiger 660 Sport. It is the structure onto which Barkbusters plastics are mounted: by itself, it protects levers and hands from impacts; with the plastics, it adds protection from wind, cold, and rain.

Barkbusters clearly distinguishes between the two mounting configurations, and the two-point setup, anchored both at the end and at the center of the handlebar, is the one the manufacturer specifies for impact protection. On the Tiger Sport 660, a crossover motorcycle for touring and everyday use, this means levers protected in a stationary fall and, with the plastics fitted, hands protected from wind and cold during rides.

Materials and construction

Heat-treated aluminum bars (manufacturer code BAR-V-053) and MFC-L and MFC-R multi-fit clamps. The manufacturer does not state the finish or the kit's weight, so we do not report them.

Compatibility

Barkbusters states this compatibility for motorcycles in original factory configuration. Aftermarket handlebars may differ in diameter, thickness, and end threading: mounting must be checked before purchase.

Installation

Remove the original handguards and, if present, the stock bar-end weights. Fit the clamp onto the handlebar without tightening it, aligning the reference marks, then attach the bar to the end and to the clamp connector and position it horizontally when viewed from the side. Tighten in the order specified by the manufacturer. Stated torques: 10 Nm for the M6 bolts and 28 Nm for the M8 bolts, using medium-strength threadlocker and checking the tightening after the first 50 km.

• Wiring: wires running along the handlebar, on both the right and left sides, must be moved to make room for the clamps.
• End cap: center it before tightening.
• End threading: the kit mounts in the handlebar's 6 mm hole using the included M6 bolts. For greater holding strength, the manufacturer recommends re-tapping it to 8 mm; the M8 bolts are not included in that case.
• Throttle: leave approximately 3 mm of clearance between the throttle grip and the handguard.
