The BHG-130 is the Barkbusters mounting kit designed for the handlebars of the Royal Enfield Bear 650 from 2025 onward. It is the structure onto which Barkbusters plastics are mounted: on its own, it protects levers and hands from impacts; with the plastics, it also adds protection from wind, cold, and branches.

Protection and use

Barkbusters clearly distinguishes between its two mounting configurations, and the two-point version, anchored both at the end and at the center of the handlebar, is the one the manufacturer specifies for impact protection. On the Bear 650, a scrambler that invites you to leave the asphalt behind, this means keeping the levers safe from falls, stones, and branches.

Materials and construction

Heat-treated aluminum bars (manufacturer part numbers BAR-V036-L and BAR-V036-R, the same as those used for the BHG-036), with CFS20 frame clamps. The manufacturer does not state the finish or the kit's weight, so we do not report them.

Compatibility

Barkbusters states compatibility for motorcycles in original factory configuration. Mounting on aftermarket handlebars must be checked before purchase.

Installation

Remove the original handguards and bar-end weights, if present. Install the clamp without tightening it next to the mirror and clutch-lever mount; on the brake side, it may be necessary to loosen the lever clamp to pass the clamp behind the master cylinder. Then secure the bar at the end using the bar-end weight, spacer, and screws, preferably horizontally or slightly angled downward when viewed from the side, and tighten it in the order specified by the manufacturer.

Specified torque values: 10 Nm for the M6 screws and 28 Nm for the M8 screws, using medium-strength threadlocker and checking the installation after the first 50 km. For greater security, the manufacturer recommends re-drilling the end hole to 8 mm, using screws purchased separately. After installation, check the controls and mirror visibility. Barkbusters recommends professional installation.
