The BHG-127 is the Barkbusters mounting kit designed for the handlebars of the Moto Guzzi V85TT and V85TT Travel from 2024. It is the frame onto which Barkbusters plastics are mounted: on its own, it protects levers and hands from impacts; with the plastics, it also provides protection from wind, cold, and branches.

- One left and one right heat-treated aluminum bar.
- Two-point mounting: with a dedicated insert at the end of the handlebar and a two-piece clamp tightened around the tube.
- Handlebar weights included: two Barkbusters BEW-35.
- Compatible with JET-003, VPS-003, STM-003, and BCF-003 plastics, sold separately.
- Official instructions with an illustrated parts list and tightening torques.
Protection and use
Barkbusters clearly distinguishes between the two mounting configurations, and the two-point configuration, anchored both at the end and in the center of the handlebar, is the one the manufacturer specifies for impact protection. On the new V85TT, whether traveling or riding off-road, this means keeping the levers protected from falls, stones, and branches.
Materials and construction
Heat-treated aluminum bars (manufacturer code BAR-V055), CS-00 two-piece clamps with CP5 connectors, BESF4-V3 end inserts, and 12 mm spacers. The manufacturer does not state the finish or weight of the kit, so we do not list them.

Do you have a V85TT from 2019 to 2023? For the previous version, Barkbusters specifies the BHG-088.
Barkbusters specifies this compatibility for motorcycles in original factory configuration. Fitment on aftermarket handlebars must be checked before purchase.
Installation
Remove the original handguards, if fitted, and the stock bar-end weights. The front brake master cylinder must be moved as close as possible to the switch housing to make room for the clamp. Fit the clamp without tightening it, attach the bar at the end and to the connector, preferably in a horizontal position when viewed from the side, and tighten in the specified order: end bolt, bar bolt on the connector, bolt securing the connector between the two clamp halves, and bolt closing the clamp around the tube. The nut fits into its recess and does not need to be held with a wrench.
Specified torques: 10 Nm for the M6 bolts and 28 Nm for the M8 bolts, using medium-strength threadlocker and checking again after the first 50 km. Leave approximately 3 mm of clearance between the throttle grip and the handguard. Barkbusters recommends professional installation.

What is NOT included
- Protective plastics. The kit is the frame only: the plastics must be purchased separately from those specified by the manufacturer.
- Threadlocker and tools.

- JET-003: compact profile, for off-road and mixed use.
- VPS-003: adjustable deflector with two positions, for touring. It is being phased out, and the price list indicates the VPS-203 as its replacement.
- STM-003, STORM series: more extensive coverage for the colder months.
- BCF-003, CARBON series: made of carbon fiber.

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch. The night visibility is impressive, and the "X-Ray" mode, as they call it, makes evening riding much safer. The bag is of excellent quality and comes with all the necessary straps and a shoulder strap. The two methods of attaching it to the motorcycle are well designed and offer a range of options. I will also buy the larger model.
