Barkbusters BHG-139 handguard mounting kit for Kove 800X, 800X Pro, and 800X Rally from 2025

The BHG-139 is the Barkbusters mounting kit designed for the Kove 800X, 800X Pro, and 800X Rally from 2025 onward. It is the framework onto which Barkbusters plastics are mounted: on its own, it protects levers and hands from impacts; with the plastics, it also adds protection from wind, cold, and branches.

Protection and use

Barkbusters clearly distinguishes between the two mounting configurations, and the two-point configuration, anchored both at the end and at the center of the handlebar, is the one the manufacturer specifies for impact protection. On the Kove 800X, adventure bikes for touring and off-road riding, this means keeping the levers safe from falls, stones, and branches.

Materials and construction

Heat-treated aluminum bars (manufacturer code BAR-V057), CS-01 split clamps with CP5 connectors, and BBE17 expanders. The manufacturer does not state the kit's finish or weight, so we do not report them.

Compatibility

* The 800X Pro is listed in the official kit catalog; the instructions mention only the 800X and 800X Rally. Do you have a Kove 450 Rally? The kit is the BHG-136.

The manufacturer specifies that fitting tests are carried out on standard motorcycles, with the original handlebar and windscreen in their factory positions.

Installation

Remove the handguards and original bar weights, if fitted. Install the split clamps without tightening them, observing the reference ring, then attach the bar at the end and to the clamp connector and position it horizontally when viewed from the side. Tighten in the specified order: M8x70 end bolt, M8x25 bar bolt, M6x25 bolt, M6x30 bolt.

Specified torque values: 10 Nm for the M6 bolts and 28 Nm for the M8 bolts, using medium-strength threadlocker and checking again after the first 50 km. Leave approximately 3 mm of clearance between the throttle grip and the handguard. Barkbusters recommends professional installation.
