Everything you need to know before ordering

Compatibility, included items, installation, and documents: below is every detail verified against the official Barkbusters documentation.

Description Barkbusters BHG-115 handguard mounting kit for BMW F 900 GS with handlebar risers

The BHG-115 is the mounting kit for BMW F 900 GS and F 900 GS Enduro from 2024 onward, in the version requiring handlebar risers: heat-treated aluminum bar, clamps, and hardware.

The requirement the manufacturer writes in capital letters

To install the BHG-115, the motorcycle MUST have handlebar risers of at least 30 mm, either standard or aftermarket. This is not a recommendation: without risers, the kit cannot be installed.

Your F 900 GS Correct code
It has the Enduro Pro or Off Road package: the risers are already included BHG-115, this product
It has aftermarket risers of at least 30 mm BHG-115, this product
It has no risers BHG-118
It is an Adventure or Adventure Ride Pro BHG-118

Discontinued code

The manufacturer has removed the BHG-115 from its catalog, replacing it with the BHG-118, which has no riser requirements and covers four configurations instead of two. The one available here will remain available while stocks last.

It works exactly as before and has the same warranty. But if you have a choice, the BHG-118 is the more sensible option, including for the future availability of replacement components.

Impact protection

Two mounting points and heat-treated aluminum. Barkbusters states that this configuration is designed for impact protection.

The plastics are NOT included

Four compatible series: JET-003, VPS-203, STM-003, and BCF-003. The EGO series is not compatible.

What you will find in the package

  • Two heat-treated aluminum bars.
  • Clamps and complete hardware.

What is NOT included

  • Protection plastics, to be chosen from JET, VPS, STORM, and CARBON.
  • Handlebar risers, which must already be installed on the motorcycle.

Why buy it from Endurrad

Free shipping in Italy on orders over 100 € and in Europe on orders over 250 €, returns within 14 days, and support in Italian. If you are not sure whether you have risers, send us a photo of the handlebar before ordering: it is the check that helps avoid a return.

Why choose it
  • Protezione dagli impatti dichiarata.
  • Quattro plastiche compatibili. JET, VPS, STORM e CARBON, intercambiabili negli anni sulla stessa struttura.
  • Prodotto in Australia.
Who is it recommended for

Assembly and documents

  4. Fissa la barra in alluminio all estremità del manubrio e al morsetto, poi portala in posizione.

It cannot be installed without handlebar risers.

  • It’s the requirement that the manufacturer writes in uppercase. If you don’t have them, the code is BHG-118.
Before ordering: do you have handlebar risers?

Before ordering: do you have handlebar risers?

It is the condition that decides everything, and the manufacturer writes it in capital letters: handlebar risers of at least 30 mm are required. If the motorcycle has the Enduro Pro or Off Road package, you already have them as standard. If you don't, this kit cannot be installed, and the correct code is BHG-118.

Code being phased out, replaced by BHG-118

Code being phased out, replaced by BHG-118

The manufacturer has withdrawn this code from its catalog and is continuing with the BHG-118, which does not require risers and covers four configurations instead of two. The one you find here is available while supplies last: it works as before and has the same warranty, but if you can choose the BHG-118, that is the more sensible option.

FAQs

For more information, see our FAQ of frequently asked questions.

Do I absolutely need handlebar risers?

Yes, and it is the requirement that makes this code different from all the others: the manufacturer writes it in uppercase. Handlebar risers of at least 30 mm are required, either stock or aftermarket. Without them, the kit cannot be installed.

How do I know if my motorcycle has risers?

If the motorcycle has BMW's Enduro Pro package or Off Road package, the risers are already included as standard. Otherwise, look at where the handlebar attaches to the steering plate: the risers are the blocks that raise it upward. If you're not sure, send us a photo.

I don't have the risers: what should I buy?

The BHG-118, which covers the same motorcycle without imposing conditions on risers and also includes the Adventure and Adventure Ride Pro configurations. It is also the code that the manufacturer indicates as the replacement for this one.

What is the difference compared with the BHG-118?

Two things. The BHG-115 requires handlebar risers, while the BHG-118 does not. And the BHG-118 covers four configurations of the F 900 GS instead of two. The manufacturer chose to proceed with the latter.

Is this code being retired?

Yes, and we prefer to be upfront about it: the manufacturer has removed the BHG-115 from its catalog, replacing it with the BHG-118. The one you find here is available while supplies last. It works exactly as before and has the same warranty, but if you have the option to choose the BHG-118, that is the more sensible choice.

Which versions of the F 900 GS does it fit?

The manufacturer lists the F 900 GS and F 900 GS Enduro from 2024 onward. The Adventure and Adventure Ride Pro versions are not included in this list: for those, you need the BHG-118.

Are the protective plastic parts included?

No. The BHG-115 is only the mounting structure: aluminum bars, clamps, and hardware. The plastic components are selected and purchased separately.

What plastics can I install on it?

Four series: JET with a compact profile, VPS with an adjustable deflector, STORM with extended coverage, and CARBON in fiber. EGO plastics are not compatible.

Are the risers included?

No. The risers must already be on the motorcycle, either factory-installed or fitted previously. This kit includes only bars, clamps, and hardware.

Does it protect the lever in a fall?

Yes. It has two attachment points, and the manufacturer states that heat treatment of the aluminum is intended to add strength and protection against impacts.

What will I find in the package?

The two aluminum bars, clamps, and mounting hardware. No protective plastic and no handlebar riser.

If I buy it now, will I be able to find the parts in the future?

The protective plastic components remain in the catalog and are the same across the entire range, so those can be found. As for the structural components, since this is a discontinued code, we cannot guarantee future availability: this is another reason to consider the BHG-118 if you are still free to choose.
