KTM 1390 Super Adventure S EVO: specifications and accessories currently available

The 1390 with radar and AMT automated transmission
It’s the most extensively equipped version of the 1390: it has the same 1,350 cc LC8 twin-cylinder engine as the S, but with AMT, which lets you choose between automatic and clutchless manual shifting, WP APEX semi-active suspension, and a fifth-generation Bosch radar with standard adaptive cruise control. The dedicated catalog is just being created.
- In summaryNew bike: the Kaoko cruise control is currently listed; everything else must be chosen from the universal options.
- Already availableMechanical cruise control, strap-mounted rear bags, USB ports, universal auxiliary lights.
- Coming soonDedicated engine guards, luggage racks, and auxiliary-light brackets.
- Beware of the radarThe sensor is under the headlight: no auxiliary lights or protection at the front.
- AvoidS accessories listed as compatible with the EVO without verification.
Who it’s recommended for
It’s the right bike if
- You travel a lot on motorways and want standard radar-based adaptive cruise control
- You like the idea of not using the clutch: the AMT shifts automatically or on command
- You want semi-active suspension with automatic load adjustment
- You want the most extensive electronics package: collision warning, braking assistance, integrated navigation
- You use dirt roads as gravel roads, not for true off-road riding
Look elsewhere if
- You want to equip it right away with protection and hard luggage: the dedicated part numbers do not exist yet
- You want to install auxiliary lights or protection in the center of the front end: that’s where the radar is
- You prefer a traditional clutch: the S costs less and has the same engine
- You ride challenging off-road terrain: that’s the R version
- Looking for the best price: the EVO is the most expensive of the three
In two words: it’s the 1390 for long asphalt journeys, with all the standard electronics. If you don’t need radar and AMT, the 1390 Super Adventure S has the same engine at a lower price; if off-road capability is the priority, look at the 1390 Super Adventure R.
What we know today
The S EVO has the 1,350 cc LC8 twin-cylinder engine, 173 hp, and 145 Nm, and adds three standard features to the S: the AMT automated transmission, with automatic or manual mode without a clutch and gear changes in 50 milliseconds; WP APEX semi-active suspension with anti-dive; and the fifth-generation Bosch radar under the headlight, which enables adaptive cruise control, collision warning, and braking assistance. 8-inch vertical touch TFT display with offline navigation, 120/70 ZR 19 and 170/60 ZR 17 wheels.
We publish only verified data: curb weight and seat height will be added once confirmed by the official documentation.
Declared accessories and what it already comes with
At the top is the only accessory declared by the manufacturer for the S EVO; next come those that do not depend on the bike's anchor points. On the EVO, the mechanical cruise control remains useful even with the adaptive system: it maintains a fixed throttle setting, without electronics, on dirt roads and through mixed terrain.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the S and S EVO?
The same 173 hp engine. The S EVO comes standard with the AMT automated transmission and Bosch radar with adaptive cruise control; the S has a traditional transmission and clutch, and the radar is optional.
Which accessories are already declared for the S EVO?
The Kaoko mechanical cruise control for original handguards, declared for the 2025 1390 Super Adventure S Evo. The other dedicated part numbers will arrive as manufacturers release them.
Is a mechanical cruise control needed if there is adaptive cruise control?
It is not essential, but it is convenient: the mechanic keeps the throttle fixed without electronics, and it also works where adaptive cruise control is not used, for example off-road or in slow, winding sections.
Where can I mount the auxiliary lights?
On the sides, using universal auxiliary lights and tube clamps. Avoid the central area below the headlight, where the radar sensor is located: covering it compromises adaptive cruise control and collision warning.
Do the 1290 accessories fit the S EVO?
As of today, no manufacturer has declared them for the 1390, so we do not recommend the 1290's luggage racks, auxiliary light brackets, or headlight protection.
