In brief. On the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R and S, the Wanderer semi-rigid cases mount on LOBOO JP251B side frames, in the 40 + 30 liter configuration. Original KTM frames are not suitable: the Wanderer cases attach only to frames with 18 mm tubing and the LOBOO drilling pattern.
The case set does not include the frames, which are purchased separately.

Why 40 + 30
The JP251B frames are asymmetrical: the left side is sized for a 45-liter PIKE TRACKER case, while the right, exhaust side is sized for a 38-liter case. With the Wanderer cases, this asymmetry becomes a 40 + 30 pairing: the narrower case goes on the right.
The Wanderer mounting plate comes from the factory already drilled for this frame series, with a 358 × 182.5 mm hole spacing: no mounting points need to be moved on the JP251B frames.
Installation at a glance
- Install the JP251B frames according to their manual.
- On the case, leave the plate in its factory position, the one for PIKE TRACKER P45 frames.
- Close the roll-top by rolling it twice and secure the top buckle.
- Attach the case to the frame and close the side lock.

Soft-sided or aluminum panniers for the 1290 Super Adventure
The PIKE TRACKER 45 + 38-liter aluminum panniers also fit the same JP251B frames: you can find them in the PIKE TRACKER kit for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R and S, with the frames included. Aluminum offers better protection against impacts and break-ins; the Wanderers weigh less, detach by hand like a bag, and include the dry bags.
Frequently asked questions
Do the Wanderers fit the original KTM frames?
No. The Wanderers attach only to side frames with 18 mm tubing and the LOBOO mounting-hole pattern. The LOBOO JP251B frames are required for the 1290 Super Adventure R and S.
Does the 1290 Super Adventure use the 40 + 30 or the 40 + 40?
The 40 + 30. The JP251B frames are asymmetrical: the 30-liter pannier goes on the right side, where the exhaust is.
Are the frames included in the pannier set?
No, the Wanderer set includes two panniers and two 20 L dry bags. The JP251B frames are purchased separately.
What is the total capacity?
70 liters across the two panniers, 40 on the left and 30 on the right. With the two included 20-liter dry bags, the total capacity reaches 110 liters.
Are they waterproof?
The manufacturer declares an IPX6 rating: they withstand heavy rain and water jets, but not immersion. Waterproofing also depends on the roll-top, which must be rolled twice.
