In brief. On the Yamaha Ténéré 700, the Wanderer semi-rigid panniers are mounted on the LOBOO JP871B side frames in a 40 + 30-liter configuration. The original Yamaha frames are not compatible: the Wanderer panniers attach only to frames with 18 mm tubing and the LOBOO drilling pattern.
The pannier set does not include the frames, which are sold separately.
What is needed for the Ténéré 700
| Component | Code | Product sheet |
|---|---|---|
| Wanderer 40 + 30 L semi-rigid panniers, with two 20 L dry bags | BCB4030TBK | Wanderer |
| LOBOO side frames for Yamaha Ténéré 700 | JP871B | JP871B frames |
Why 40 + 30 and the P35 template
The JP871B frames are asymmetrical: the left side is sized for a 35-liter PIKE TRACKER pannier, while the right side, the exhaust side, is sized for a 30-liter one. On the Wanderer panniers, this asymmetry becomes a 40 + 30 pair: the narrower pannier goes on the right.
The Wanderer mounting plate comes factory-drilled for PIKE TRACKER P45 frames. For the P35 series, the mounting points must be moved to the 318 × 204 mm center-to-center template, already provided on the plate: this only needs to be done once.
Installation overview
- Install the JP871B frames following their manual.
- On the pannier, move the plate mounting points to the PIKE TRACKER P35 drilling template and tighten the screws to 8 N·m using the included hex key.
- Close the roll-top by rolling it twice, then fasten the top buckle.
- Attach the pannier to the frame and close the side lock.
All steps, including the illustrated drilling templates, are in the installation guide for semi-rigid motorcycle panniers.

Soft cases or aluminium for the Ténéré 700
The same JP871B frames also fit the PIKE TRACKER 35 + 30-litre aluminium cases: you can find them in the PIKE TRACKER kit for the Yamaha Ténéré 700, with the frames included. Aluminium offers better protection against impacts and break-ins; the Wanderer cases weigh less, can be detached by hand like a bag, and include the waterproof bags.
Frequently asked questions
Do the Wanderer cases fit the original Yamaha frames?
No. The Wanderer cases attach only to side frames with 18 mm tubing and the LOBOO drilling pattern. The Ténéré 700 requires the LOBOO JP871B frames.
Does the Ténéré 700 use the 40 + 30 or the 40 + 40?
The 40 + 30. The JP871B frames are asymmetrical: the 30-litre case goes on the right side, the exhaust side.
Does the case plate need to be modified?
You need to move the mounting points according to the PIKE TRACKER P35 pattern, which is already prepared on the plate, and tighten the screws to 8 N·m. This only needs to be done once, using the included hex key.
Are the frames included with the case set?
No, the Wanderer set includes two cases and two 20 L waterproof bags. The JP871B frames are purchased separately.
Are they waterproof?
The manufacturer states an IPX6 rating: they withstand heavy rain and water jets, but not immersion. Water resistance also depends on the roll-top, which must be rolled twice.
