Description Aluminum handguard shields, pair with deflector

Pair of aluminum alloy shields for LOBOO handguards, with wind deflectors and assembly hardware. Available in black and white.

They can only be mounted on LOBOO handguards. They are not compatible with the motorcycle's original handguards or those from other brands: the mounts and geometry are different.

The part that takes the hits

In the LOBOO handguard system, the brackets provide support and the shield offers protection. The shield is what intercepts branches, stones, and asphalt, so it is the first component to get damaged. After a low-speed fall, if the brackets are not deformed, there is no need to buy the complete set again: replace the shield and the motorcycle is back to its original condition.

It is also the way to change the handguard color without replacing everything. Black and white are the same component with a different finish, and they pair with brackets of any color: the combination of black brackets with a white shield is the one LOBOO itself offers in its sets.

What's in the box, and what needs to be assembled

The manual's parts list includes five items: the left and right shields, the left and right deflectors, and four M4 × 10 mm screws. The shield and deflector are therefore two separate pieces, and the installation view shows the deflector secured to the shield with two screws per side.

The specified tightening torque is 1.5 N·m: it is low and must be observed because these are M4 screws installed in an aluminum seat. The manual also requires that you do not fully tighten them immediately, but first complete the adjustments and then tighten them in sequence.

Universal across the LOBOO range

In the official catalog, this code is classified as universal: it is the same shield fitted to the sets for the BMW GS, KTM 790 and 890 Adventure, Husqvarna Norden 901, Benelli TRK 552X, CFMOTO 450MT, 700MT, 800MT, and 800MT-X, and the Triumph Scrambler 1200XE. The brackets, not the shield, change from one motorcycle to another.

The manufacturer states this explicitly in its purchasing instructions: a complete handguard set consists of a bracket kit, shield, and bumper kit, and the three items are purchased separately.

What you need to know before ordering

  • LOBOO handguards must already be installed: this item is the shield only, not a complete set
  • Brackets are not included and are specific to each motorcycle
  • The CFCK001 bumper kit is also a separate item
  • The shield and deflector must be assembled using the screws included in the package
  • If you are starting from scratch, choose the product page for the complete set for your motorcycle

Data from the official LOBOO CHP001 installation manual and catalog. Where the manufacturer does not specify a value, we indicate it as not specified rather than estimating it.

Why choose it
Who is it recommended for

Documents and manufacturer

What to know before ordering

The shield is the part that takes the hits.

The shield is the part that takes the hits.

In the LOBOO handguard system, the brackets support and the shield protects: it is the shield that takes the impact from branches, stones, and asphalt, so it is also the first part to wear out. The CHP001 is exactly that part, sold individually.

After a fall, if the brackets are intact, there is no need to buy the set again: replace the shield and the bike is back to the way it was. It is also the way to change the color without changing everything.

Black or white, same piece

Black or white, same piece

The two finishes are the same component in two colors: black and white, both with the adjustable wind deflector already mounted. Only the appearance changes, not the geometry or mounting.

This means you can mount a white shield on black brackets, or vice versa, without compatibility issues: it’s the combination that LOBOO itself offers in its sets.

It fits the LOBOO handguards of any motorcycle.

It fits the LOBOO handguards of any motorcycle.

In the official catalog, the CHP001 is classified as universal: it is the same shield that LOBOO mounts on sets for BMW, KTM, Husqvarna, Benelli, CFMOTO, and Triumph. What changes from one motorcycle to another are the brackets, not the shield.

The manufacturer states this explicitly in its purchasing instructions: a complete set consists of a bracket kit, shield, and slider, and replacement parts are purchased separately. However, note the scope: universal applies to LOBOO handguards, not original handguards or those from other brands.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Will it fit the handguards I already have?

If they are LOBOO handguards, yes, regardless of the motorcycle: the manufacturer classifies this shield as universal because what changes from model to model are the brackets, not the shield. It cannot be mounted on the motorcycle’s original handguards or on those from another brand: the mounting points and geometry are different.

Does the package contain one or two shields?

Included: right and left, a complete pair. If you need to replace just one side, the individual part is not listed in the catalog: contact us and we’ll check with the distributor.

Is the wind deflector included?

Yes, it arrives already mounted on the shield and retains the three-position adjustment, removable without tools as with the complete set.

What exactly is included in the package?

The manual's parts list includes five items: the left and right shields, the left and right deflectors, and four M4 × 10 mm screws. The package also includes the installation manual in eight languages, including Italian.

The bracket kit, which is specific to each motorcycle, and the CFCK001 slider kit are not included.

Does the deflector come already installed on the shield?

In the manual’s parts list, the shield and deflector are two separate items, right and left, and the installation view shows the deflector attached to the shield with the included screws. Therefore, assembly is required; it is not simply a matter of replacing a single part.

It only takes a few minutes with a screwdriver, but it is good to know this before opening the box.

Are the screws included, or do I need to take them from the old shield?

They are included. The manual’s parts list specifies four M4 × 10 mm screws, two per side, used to secure the deflector to the shield. You therefore do not need to reuse the old ones, which may be damaged after an impact.

The screws that secure the shield to the brackets are not included, however: those are part of your motorcycle’s bracket kit.

What torque should the screws be tightened to?

1.5 N·m, as indicated in the manual next to the screw in the parts list. It is a low torque and must be respected: these are M4 screws in an aluminum seat, and tightening by feel can easily strip the threads.

The manual also recommends not fully tightening immediately: first make all the necessary adjustments, then tighten in sequence to the specified values.

Can I mount a white shield on black brackets?

Yes. The two colors are the same component with different finishes, and LOBOO itself offers the set with black brackets and a white guard. There is no matching requirement.

What do you need besides the shield to have a complete handguard?

The manufacturer states this explicitly: a complete set consists of the bracket kit specific to your motorcycle, the CHP001 shield, and the CFCK001 bow kit. If you are starting from scratch, it is best to use the complete set listing for your motorcycle; this code is for when you need to replace the shield alone or change its color.

Do I also need to get the CFCK001 buffer kit?

Only if those are damaged too. LOBOO divides the handguard system into three parts: the motorcycle-specific bracket kit, this shield, and the slider kit. After a fall, the slider, which is the part designed to scrape along the ground, may have worn down, or the shield, or both.

It is best to inspect the handguards before ordering: they are separate products precisely because they wear out at different rates.

What material is it made of?

Aluminum alloy, as stated by the manufacturer on the handguard technical panel. Weight and IP rating are not declared, so we do not estimate them.

When is it advisable to replace the shield instead of the entire handguard?

Almost always, after a low-speed fall. The shield is the exposed part and absorbs the impact; the brackets, which form the structure, generally remain intact. Check them first: if they are not deformed and the clamps tighten properly, simply replace the shield.
