It is the motorcycle with the most code changes in the catalog: the owner's manual is the only reliable criterion.

Impact protection

Two mounting points and heat-treated aluminum. Barkbusters states that this configuration is designed for impact protection.

The plastics are NOT included

Four compatible series: JET-003, VPS-203, STM-003, and BCF-003. On the Super Ténéré, a touring motorcycle, the VPS with adjustable deflector are the most common choice. The EGO are not compatible.

What you will find in the package

  • Two heat-treated aluminum bars, natural finish.
  • Clamps and complete hardware.

What is NOT included

  • Protective plastics, to choose from JET, VPS, STORM, and CARBON.

Why buy it from Endurrad

Free shipping in Italy on orders over €100 and in Europe on orders over €250, returns within 14 days, support in Italian. If you are unsure of your motorcycle's year, write to us before ordering.

Why choose it
  • Protezione dagli impatti dichiarata.
  • Quattro plastiche compatibili. JET, VPS, STORM e CARBON, intercambiabili negli anni sulla stessa struttura.
  • Prodotto in Australia.
Who is it recommended for

Assembly and documents

  2. Verifica che il manubrio sia quello originale.
  3. Rimuovi i paramani originali, se presenti, e i contrappesi.
  5. Fissa la barra in alluminio all estremità del manubrio e al morsetto, poi portala in posizione e monta le plastiche.

All intervals are closed

  • No model with this code continues beyond this point: from 2016 onward, different codes are required.
Handguards are not concerned with the brand

Handguards are not concerned with the brand

A BMW F 700 GS and a Yamaha Super Ténéré under the same code may be surprising, but there is a precise reason: handguards do not care about the brand; they care about the handlebar diameter, the space on the straight section, and the shape of the end. When two motorcycles share these measurements, the kit is the same.

FAQs

For more information, see our FAQ of frequently asked questions.

Which motorcycles does it fit?

For four models: BMW F 700 GS and F 800 GS from 2013 to 2015, BMW F 800 GS Adventure from 2014 to 2015, and Yamaha XTZ 1200 Super Ténéré up to 2013.

I have an F 800 GS: which part number do I need?

It depends on the year, and the codes for this motorcycle change four times: up to 2012, you need the BHG-032; from 2013 to 2015, the BHG-040; from 2016 to 2023, the BHG-055; and for the new F 800 GS from 2024 onward, the BHG-117. Check the vehicle registration document before ordering.

I have a 2014 Super Ténéré: will it fit?

No, this code covers the Super Ténéré up to 2013. For later model years, the code is different: write to us with the exact year, and we'll tell you the correct one.

Why do a BMW and a Yamaha use the same kit?

Because handguard fitment depends not on the brand but on the handlebar geometry: diameter, available straight section, and end shape. When two motorcycles share these measurements, the manufacturer lists them under the same part number even if they come from different brands.

I have an F 800 GS Adventure: which years does it cover?

From 2014 to 2015. It is one year less than the standard F 800 GS because the Adventure version arrived on the market later.

Are the protective plastic parts included?

No. The BHG-040 is the mounting structure only: aluminum bars, clamps, and hardware. The plastic components are selected and purchased separately.

What plastics can I install on it?

Four series: JET with a compact profile, VPS with an adjustable deflector, STORM with extended coverage, and CARBON made of fiber. On the Super Ténéré touring motorcycle, VPS with a deflector are the most common choice. EGO plastics are not compatible.

Does it protect the lever in a fall?

Yes. It has two attachment points, and the manufacturer states that heat treatment of the aluminum is intended to add strength and protection against impacts.

Do I need to remove the original counterweights?

The structure attaches to the end of the handlebar, so the original bar-end weights must be removed. The official instructions attached to the product page show the correct sequence.

I installed an aftermarket handlebar: does it fit the same way?

The manufacturer declares compatibility with motorcycles in their original factory configuration. On an aftermarket handlebar, the diameter and geometry change, so the fitment must be checked on a case-by-case basis before purchase.

What will I find in the package?

The two aluminum bars, clamps, and mounting hardware. No protective plastic.

What finish does it have?

Natural aluminum. The official code is BHG-040-NP, and the manufacturer does not offer a black-painted version of this kit.
