Do you need to disassemble anything on the motorcycle?

Yes: the original rear side plastics and rear luggage rack, which are then reinstalled. The manual does not call for drilling.

How much weight can they hold?

LOBOO does not specify a maximum load for the frames. The limit to observe is the maximum total load indicated by KTM for the motorcycle, which includes the rider, passenger, and luggage.

Can I use suitcases from other brands?

Hard cases from other brands: no. LOBOO states that its aluminum cases can only be mounted on LOBOO racks, and the racks are designed for the LOBOO system. In addition to the PIKE TRACKER cases, you can mount the WANDERER semi-rigid cases and the ALPS inflatable cases.

Are these frames enough to mount the top case?

No. The top case mounts on the JP251W rear luggage rack, sold separately. The frames and luggage racks together form the three-case system.

Can I buy frames and suitcases together?

Yes: the side-case kit for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure includes the JP251B frames and the pair of PIKE TRACKER cases, 45 + 38 liters, in black or silver.

Pair of side case racks for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S and R from 2022 onward, as indicated by LOBOO. This is the structure the side cases attach to: the cases are not included.

LOBOO calls it the Side Case Rack, code JP251B, and states that it is intended for cases in the PIKE TRACKER and CONQUEROR series. With the PIKE TRACKER cases, the pair is 45 liters on the left and 38 liters on the right: the right case is shaped to clear the exhaust.

What you can mount on these racks

PIKE TRACKER aluminum cases P45L + P38R, in matte black or polished silver: 540 × 321 × 388 mm and 6.5 kg for the left case, 540 × 296 × 388 mm and 6.1 kg for the right. Complete measurements and equipment are on the PIKE TRACKER aluminum cases page.

LOBOO aluminum cases can only be mounted on LOBOO racks, and hard cases from other manufacturers are not compatible with these racks.

What's included

The manual lists 12 items: left and right racks, a crossbar, a pair of left and right brackets, 4 Ø 20 × Ø 8.5 × 3 mm spacers, 4 M8 × 20 screws, 4 M8 × 25 screws, 2 M8 × 45 screws, 6 bushings, 2 Ø 20 plugs, 8 M8 washers, and threadlocker.

How to install them

Seven steps: three for removal, including the rear side panels and the original rear luggage rack, followed by four installation steps, after which the original parts are put back in place. Some of the motorcycle's original screws are reused: the manual identifies them as OEM.

There are two torque settings: 20 N·m for the M8 × 20 screws and 18 N·m for the M8 × 25 and M8 × 45 screws. LOBOO asks you not to fully tighten them until you have completed the adjustments.

Top case and complete kit

The top case requires the JP251W rear luggage rack, sold separately. If you want the racks and cases in a single order, there is the side case kit for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure.

For the PIKE TRACKER LOBOO system racks, LOBOO specifies stainless steel and aluminum alloy without stating which part is made from which material. The rack weight and maximum load are not specified.

For the 1290 Super Adventure, LOBOO offers five sets: the top case with a fixed or adjustable luggage rack, the pair of side cases with frames, or all three cases together.

For the 1290 S and R from 2022, only on LOBOO frames

In the LOBOO table, the PIKE TRACKER side racks are listed for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S and R from 2022 onward.

Manufacturer's note: LOBOO aluminum panniers can only be mounted on LOBOO racks and luggage racks, and the racks can be installed without damaging the motorcycle.

The right pannier has a recess that clears the exhaust outlet, with the lower corner angled and covered in technical plastic. As a result, the right side holds 38 liters and the left 45.

The bulkier luggage goes on the left.

How bulky are the suitcases they hold?

The P45L measures 540 × 321 × 388 mm overall and weighs 6.5 kg. The P38R is 296 mm deep overall and weighs 6.1 kg; inside, it tapers from 280 mm at the top to 200 mm at the bottom to leave room for the exhaust.

These are measurements taken manually, with a tolerance declared by LOBOO.

Which KTM models are JP251B frames mounted on?

LOBOO lists them for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S and R from 2022 onward. Earlier versions and the 1290 Super Adventure T are not listed by the manufacturer: contact us with the model and year before ordering.

Are bags included?

No. The package contains only the racks with the hardware. The cases are purchased separately, or together with the racks in the side case kit for the KTM 1290 Super Adventure.

Which aluminum suitcases can I mount?

The PIKE TRACKER P45L on the left and P38R on the right, with capacities of 45 and 38 liters, in matte black or glossy silver. The manual also mentions the CONQUEROR series without specifying its codes: write to us and we’ll verify which ones.

Why is the suitcase on the right smaller?

Because the exhaust is on the right. The P38R has an interior that goes from 280 mm deep at the top to 200 mm at the bottom to clear it, and therefore holds 38 liters compared with the P45L's 45.

Can I install soft bags instead of aluminum cases?

Yes, two types: the WANDERER semi-rigid cases, which LOBOO pairs with the PIKE TRACKER side racks with 18 mm tubing, and the 23- and 30-liter ALPS inflatable cases. You can find them on their respective product pages.
