Description Barkbusters LED-001 amber LED turn signals for handguard plastics

The LED-001 are a pair of amber LED indicators designed to be recessed into Barkbusters handguard plastics. They are turn signals, not position lights: those are the white LED-002, a different code.

Fifteen LEDs per light, low power consumption, and the manufacturer declares them E-mark approved as indicator lights.

Two checks before ordering

  • Honda CRF 1000L and CRF 1100L Africa Twin: the manufacturer states that the LED-001 are NOT compatible with these motorcycles' electrical systems.
  • Flashing frequency: if you replace non-LED indicators, the flasher relay may interpret the low power consumption as a burned-out bulb and flash too quickly. In that case, you need the LED-RES-001 resistor, listed in the catalogue and sold separately.

Installation requires drilling

The LED is recessed into the plastic, so a hole must be drilled. The manufacturer provides a drilling template in the instructions to ensure it is positioned correctly. This is a permanent modification to the plastic: it is worth measuring twice.

Each LED has approximately 700 mm of cable.

  1. Verifica che la moto non sia una Honda CRF 1000L o 1100L Africa Twin, dichiarate non compatibili.

The stock turn signals sit low and close to the motorcycle’s body. These are mounted on the handguards, at the outermost and highest point of the handlebar: fifteen LEDs per light, clearly visible to anyone approaching from the side. The manufacturer declares them approved with an E-mark as turn signals.

It is not the same for all of them. On the JET models, the manufacturer allows only the top surface; on the VPS and STORM models, you can choose the top, bottom, or both. This is the first check to make, because drilling is permanent.

Is the cable long enough to reach the system?

Each LED has approximately 700 mm of cable, or 27.5 inches. On most motorcycles, this is enough to reach the wiring without extensions, but if your cable route is long, it is best to measure it beforehand.

Are the plastic parts included?

No. The package contains the two lights with the wiring. The JET, VPS, or STORM plastics to mount them on must already be on the motorcycle or purchased separately.

Can I mount them on EGO, SABRE, or CARBON plastics?

The manufacturer only declares JET, VPS, and STORM. EGO, SABRE, and CARBON are not on the list: we do not extend compatibility by analogy. If this is your case, write to us and we will verify.
