Cruise control meccanico per Ducati Multistrada V4, V2, DesertX, Monster 1200 e Streetfighter

Everything you need to know before ordering

Technical specifications, equipment, delivery and warranty: below, every detail verified against the official Kaoko documentation.

Description Cruise control for Ducati Multistrada V4, V2, DesertX, Monster 1200 and Streetfighter

The throttle stays where you leave it, so your right hand can rest. This mechanical cruise control for the Ducati Multistrada V4, V2, DesertX, Monster 1200 and Streetfighter replaces the right handlebar end weight: as you open the throttle, tighten the ring with your little finger and the grip maintains the selected position. No electronics, no wiring, no modifications to the motorcycle.

How it works

The knurled ring screws onto the end weight and slows the rotation of the throttle grip. When tightened, it holds the throttle at the selected position; when loosened, the grip moves freely again and closes by itself. It locks the throttle position, not the speed: the motorcycle slows uphill, accelerates downhill, and does not disengage automatically when you brake. You can always open and close the throttle by hand, even when the device is engaged.

What you receive and how to install it

The package includes: Kaoko body with friction ring, two 134 thrust washers, one 100 thrust washer, M6 × 90 mm bolt, and a 2 mm Allen key. Remove the original right end weight, install the Kaoko unit, and adjust the ring resistance with the 2 mm key. The manufacturer's instructions can be downloaded from the product page.

All models are in the Kaoko cruise control range.

Why choose it
Who is it recommended for

FAQs

For more information, see our FAQ of frequently asked questions.

Is it cruise control like the electronic kind in cars?

No. It is a mechanical throttle lock: it maintains the throttle opening you selected, not the speed. The motorcycle slows down uphill, accelerates downhill, and it does not disengage automatically when you brake or pull in the clutch. It is intended for highway and main-road stretches at a constant speed, when road conditions allow it.

How do you turn it on and off?

As you open the throttle, squeeze the ring between your little finger and palm: the ring screws in and creates the friction that holds the grip in position. To disengage it, make the same gesture while closing the throttle. When disengaged, the grip should open and close freely on its own, as if the device were not installed.

Can I still turn off the gas with the device inserted?

Yes. The ring slows the rotation of the throttle but does not lock it: you can always open and close the throttle by hand; the grip simply feels a little stiffer. The manufacturer recommends using it only when road conditions permit and keeping it disengaged in all other situations.

Do I need to modify the motorcycle to install it?

No. The Kaoko cruise control replaces the right handlebar bar-end weight: no drilling and no wiring. You rarely need to move the throttle housing a few millimeters along the handlebar by loosening its screws and tightening them again to the torque specified by the manufacturer. All the steps are in the instructions downloadable from the product page.

Which handlebar setup is it mounted with?

According to the manufacturer: original conical bar-end weights with expansion nut, standard equipment, original handguards. Only compatible with the original bar-end weights. If your motorcycle has different handlebar accessories, write to us before ordering.
