The flaw with almost all dry bags is that they work when fully loaded, but as soon as you fill them halfway, they crumple. And you can't strap down a crumpled bag: you pull, the webbing sinks into a fold, you let go, and after twenty kilometers it's already crooked.

The Wanderer has a removable U-shaped support plate that keeps its shape whether full or empty. It is worth comparing them with your motorcycle before ordering: 55 cm in length is a lot on a short tail, and the critical point is almost always the distance from the exhaust outlet. If your exhaust is high and close to the tail section, measure the available clearance first.

Inside, there’s a dedicated pocket for separating wet and dry items: the soaked rain gear and dirty clothes go on one side, while the sleeping bag and clean change of clothes stay on the other. Anyone who has slept in a tent with a damp sleeping bag knows how valuable that is.

It’s the detail you don’t notice on the first day but appreciate on the second, when you set off again with yesterday’s rain still clinging to your rain gear and don’t feel like getting the rest of your luggage wet.

There is a side pocket and a quick-access top pocket for the things you need at a moment’s notice: spare gloves, a map, a tube of cream, or a charging cable.

A warning that LOBOO includes and we’re happy to repeat: these pockets are water-resistant, but they are not IPX6-rated. The IPX6 rating applies to the main compartment, beneath the roll-top’s three folds, and that’s where your phone, documents, and electronics should go.

The external webbing is a laser-cut MOLLE system, the modular standard also used by other brands: you can attach pouches, first-aid kits, tool holders, a water bottle, or an additional pocket, without improvised straps.

Two warnings that LOBOO gives and that are worth taking seriously: the attachment points must remain away from the exhaust outlet, because webbing resting against a hot exhaust will fail within minutes; and any excess webbing must be gathered and secured with the Velcro, because a loose end reaching the wheel or chain is the most obvious way to end up off the road.

In the second method, the strap does not attach to the buckles but passes through the bag’s webbing loops and secures it directly to the motorcycle. This is useful when the tail anchor points are far apart or poorly positioned, and when you want the bag to remain firmly attached to the luggage rack even on gravel roads.

The sequence remains the same: fasten, hook, tighten. Here too, the excess webbing must be gathered and secured away from the wheel, chain, and exhaust.

With the side cases already fitted, the Wanderer’s 50 liters complete the setup without extending beyond the cases’ width: the profile stays clean, and the load’s center of gravity remains low and centered over the rear.

It’s the typical long-distance touring setup: heavy items in the cases, bulky and lightweight items up here, and things needed during the journey in the external pockets or MOLLE pouches.
