The WANDERER 50L is the rear bag designed for travelers: spacious, sturdy, and waterproof thanks to its roll-top closure and sealed seams. It can be mounted on the saddle, rack or on top of the side panniers with quick and secure fastenings.

Installation and fastening

Place the bag on the saddle or rack, roll up the roll-top (at least 3 times) and close the buckle(s). Secure with compression straps crossed at the anchor points. After the first few kilometers, check the fastenings again.

Question Answer
Is it really waterproof? Yes, the dry-bag construction and roll-top closure protect against rain and splashes. For heavy rain, make at least 3 turns before closing the buckles.
How is it attached to the motorcycle? With compression straps at the bag's anchor points and the luggage rack/saddle. Cross the straps and check the tightness after the first few kilometers.
Can I mount it on top of the panniers? Yes, it can also be secured on top of the side panniers with suitable straps, taking into account the space and center of gravity of the load.
Are straps included? The bag is compatible with compression straps; check the equipment listed on the page/variant. Alternatively, use high-quality straps or elastic spider straps.
How do I clean it? Quick wash with water and mild soap; avoid solvents and high temperatures. Air dry before storing.

Who is it recommended for

  • You also travel in cold seasons: TPU remains soft where PVC becomes rigid
  • You want to carry it on your shoulder once you get off the motorcycle

It's not the right choice if:you need a fordable or submersible bag, because IPX6 covers heavy rain and jets but not submersion. And if you need more than 50 liters, this model does not come in other sizes.

Mounting with the quick-release strap

LOBOO indicates two methods. In the first, the four ends of the strap are fastened to the anchor points on both sides of the tail and hooked to the buckles of the bag. In the second, the strap passes through the bag's webbing and directly ties it down. In both cases, the sequence is the same: fasten, hook, tension.

Two LOBOO warnings worth taking seriously

  • The attachment points must remain clear of the exhaust pipe. Webbing resting on a hot exhaust will fail in a few minutes.
  • Excess webbing should be gathered and secured with velcro. A loose end that reaches the wheel or chain is the most trivial way to end up off-road.

Use and maintenance

  • Close the roll-top with three turns and hook the two buckles: the seal guarantees waterproofing, the magnet only serves to align the flaps.
  • Respect the maximum load indicated by the manufacturer for the luggage rack or passenger seat, and the overall load capacity of the motorcycle.
  • The load must not cover the license plate and tail lights nor protrude beyond the limits of the Highway Code.
  • Clean with water and neutral detergent, and let air dry before storing rolled up.

Una borsa che sta in piedi da sola

Il difetto di quasi tutte le dry bag e' che sotto il pieno carico funzionano, ma appena le riempi a meta' si accartocciano. E una borsa accartocciata non si cinghia: tiri, la fettuccia affonda in una piega, molli, e dopo venti chilometri e' gia' storta.

Il Wanderer ha una piastra di supporto a U removibile che gli tiene la sagoma piena o vuota che sia. Le cinghie lavorano su un volume stabile, il carico non si sposta e la borsa mantiene una linea pulita sulla coda della moto. Se ti serve piu' spazio in valigia al ritorno, la piastra si sfila e la borsa torna a essere un sacco.

La chiusura vuole tre giri di arrotolamento e due fibbie: sono quelli a garantire la tenuta IPX6, non il magnete. Il magnete serve a far combaciare i lembi al primo colpo, anche con i guanti invernali e anche quando piove e hai fretta di ripartire.

Sul fianco c'e' una valvola di sfiato. Dopo aver chiuso, la apri e schiacci: l'aria intrappolata esce, il volume si compatta e le cinghie tornano in tensione. E' il gesto che toglie di mezzo il difetto tipico della dry bag gonfia, quella che a ogni frenata si muove sulla sella.

La striscia magnetica annegata nel bordo di chiusura e' coperta da brevetto per modello di utilita', numero ZL 2019 2 1740293.1. Non e' un dettaglio da depliant: significa che il sistema esiste solo qui.

Le alternative sul mercato sono due, e LOBOO le mette a confronto senza girarci intorno. La cerniera stagna e' macchinosa da usare con i guanti e invecchia male: e' il primo pezzo che si pianta. Il velcro aperto ha una superficie a uncini che rovina i capi tecnici e perde efficacia con l'uso, tanto piu' in fretta quanto piu' fango raccoglie.

Il magnete non tiene l'acqua: quella la tengono i tre giri di arrotolamento e le due fibbie. Il magnete serve a far combaciare i lembi al primo colpo, anche con i guanti invernali e anche quando piove e hai fretta.

Il tessuto e' TPU composito su maglia 840D, spessore 0,65 mm. La differenza col PVC economico non si vede in negozio: si vede al primo passo di montagna sotto zero, quando il PVC irrigidisce, il roll-top diventa duro da arrotolare e le pieghe iniziano a screpolarsi.

Il TPU resta morbido e continua a piegarsi dove deve. E' anche piu' resistente all'abrasione, che conta quando la borsa struscia contro il telaietto o contro il portapacchi a ogni sconnesso.

Dentro c'e' una tasca dedicata alla separazione fra bagnato e asciutto: l'antipioggia zuppo e i capi sporchi stanno da una parte, il sacco a pelo e il cambio pulito dall'altra. Chi ha gia' dormito in tenda con un sacco a pelo umido sa quanto vale.

Un avvertimento che LOBOO scrive e che ripetiamo volentieri: le tasche esterne ad accesso rapido, davanti, dietro e sopra, sono resistenti all'acqua ma non sono IPX6. Sono comode per il tubetto di crema o la mappa, non per telefono, documenti ed elettronica. Quelli vanno nel vano principale, sotto i tre giri del roll-top.

Quando parcheggi diventa uno zaino

Gli spallacci doppi escono da un vano dedicato e la borsa si porta in spalla. Serve nell'ultimo tratto a piedi verso un rifugio o un campeggio, e serve la sera in hotel, quando l'alternativa e' travasare tutto in una sacca o farsi tre viaggi dal parcheggio.

All'esterno il sistema MOLLE tagliato al laser accetta pouch, kit di primo soccorso, portautensili o borracce, anche di altri marchi. Le bande riflettenti sui fianchi lavorano di notte: con una borsa montata, la superficie che un'auto vede per prima nello specchio non e' piu' il faro posteriore della moto.

A cosa serve la valvola di sfiato dell'aria?

A far uscire l'aria rimasta dentro dopo la chiusura. Una borsa gonfia si muove e scivola sulla sella; espellendo l'aria il volume si riduce, il carico si compatta e la borsa resta ferma dove l'hai fissata.

Come funziona la separazione bagnato e asciutto?

C'è una tasca interna integrata dove riporre gli strati base sudati o i capi bagnati, tenendoli separati dai vestiti puliti. È il dettaglio che si apprezza al secondo giorno di viaggio, non al primo.

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch.
