Aluminum side case kit for the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure from 2024 onward: a pair of JP151B side racks and two matching PIKE TRACKER cases, in either 37+37 or 45+45 liters, in glossy silver or matte black. One order gets you the racks and cases already matched.

The two cases are the same size: the weight remains balanced on both sides and the load distributes itself without any thought.

37 or 45 liters: what's the difference?

The length and height are the same; only the width changes. Specifications declared by LOBOO for one case:

  • P37: internal dimensions 490 × 230 × 362 mm, external dimensions with accessories 540 × 272 × 388 mm, 6.2 kg.
  • P45: internal dimensions 490 × 280 × 362 mm, external dimensions with accessories 540 × 321 × 388 mm, 6.5 kg.

The 37-liter cases keep the bike narrower, while the 45-liter cases provide 90 liters in total for long trips or two-up riding.

How the cases are made

  • High-strength aluminum alloy, designed to absorb impacts and protect the bike's subframe and the contents.
  • Riveted construction: damaged components can be replaced individually without replacing the case.
  • Corner protectors made of high-strength technical plastic, with large chamfers.
  • Water resistance provided by rivets, rubber seals, and structural adhesive: LOBOO also declares them suitable for heavy rain, without publishing an IP rating.
  • Flocked lining inside, a bag in the lid of the left case, and a net in the right one.
  • Sensor light in each case: it turns on automatically, is magnetic, has four brightness levels and a flashing mode, is IP54-rated, and comes with a strap for use as a headlamp.

Nine-point attachment

The cases and racks connect at nine points, using the quick-release system covered by utility model patent ZL 2017 2 0624675.2. LOBOO states that the attachment does not develop play with use, keeps the cases in place in the event of a fall or slide, and allows them to detach in a strong frontal impact. The rack mounting points feature a cushioning structure that protects the subframe.

Does it fit the R 1300 GS without Adventure?

No. This kit uses the JP151B racks, which are designed for the R 1300 GS Adventure. For the R 1300 GS, there is the side case kit for the R 1300 GS, with JP131B racks.

Rack installation

The JP151B manual contains eighteen illustrated steps, with no drilling required: remove the seat, original luggage rack, and some tail sections; install the plates and brackets; secure the racks; and finish with the crossbar. Once the work is complete, the original parts go back into place. All M8 bolts must be tightened to 18 N·m, using the included threadlocker. With the short exhaust, the CPQ131 deflector is also required and is sold separately.

Top case and three-case system

The top case is not included. For the Adventure, LOBOO provides either the top-case plate on the original luggage rack or the reinforced rear luggage rack JP151WPRO, which accepts the PIKE TRACKER aluminum top cases.

If you already have the racks, the cases alone are available on the PIKE TRACKER aluminum cases page. The same JP151B racks also accept the CONQUEROR, WANDERER, and ALPS inflatable bags. LOBOO does not specify a maximum load for each case: use the limit specified by BMW for the motorcycle.

On the R 1300 GS Adventure, the PIKE TRACKER cases are symmetrical: the same size on the left and right, 37+37 or 45+45 liters. The weight is distributed evenly, keeping the motorcycle balanced.

Assembly and Notes

  • The kit includes side frames and a pair of panniers: the top case and its mounting plate are not included.
  • Observe the maximum load per side frame indicated by BMW in the motorcycle's owner's manual.
  • Recheck all fastenings after the first 100-200 km.
  • The load must not cover the license plate and tail lights or protrude beyond the limits of the Highway Code.

How to choose your configuration:

  • 37+37: Keeps the bike narrower, sufficient for multi-day trips.
  • 45+45: 90 liters total for long trips or two-up riding.

Please note the version: This kit uses JP151B frames, dedicated to the R 1300 GS Adventure. For the standard R 1300 GS, you need the kit with JP131B frames, on a separate page: the two frames are not interchangeable.

Exclusive advantage: these frames leave the door open for a future upgrade to CONQUEROR C45L and C45R panniers.

What does the kit include?

What’s the difference between the 37- and 45-liter versions?

Will it fit the R 1300 GS without Adventure?

I have the R 1300 GS Adventure with the short exhaust: is anything else needed?

Yes. LOBOO documentation indicates that with the short exhaust, the frames also require the CPQ131 exhaust deflector, sold on a separate page. If you don't know which exhaust you have, contact us before ordering.

How much do the suitcases weigh?

LOBOO states 6.2 kg for the P37 and 6.5 kg for the P45, empty. The weight of the JP151B frames is not specified.

How much weight can I load?

LOBOO does not declare a maximum load for the PIKE TRACKER cases. The load specified by BMW for the motorcycle applies, including the rider, passenger, and luggage.
