Description Semi-Rigid Pannier Set 40+30 L with Racks for BMW R 1200 GS, R 1250 GS and Adventure — Wanderer

The LOBOO Wanderer Semi-Rigid Panniers do not mount on the original BMW mounts: LOBOO side frames are required, and they are a separate item. This kit already includes them — the JP071B frames — together with the 40 L pannier, the 30 L pannier, and two 20 L waterproof bags. One order, compatibility already verified, 110 litres in total.

Why 40 on the left and 30 on the right

The asymmetry is not a compromise but a deliberate choice: the smaller pannier goes on the exhaust side, where the GS already has additional bulk. The bike remains narrower in traffic and on technical sections, and the exhaust can breathe.

Key features

  • LOBOO JP071B frames included, with spacers and ADV-marked screws already included for Adventure models
  • Semi-rigid construction in composite TPU on 0.6 mm 840D mesh, with a PP support panel and corner protectors
  • IPX6 waterproofing with a patented magnetic roll-top closure, to be rolled twice as indicated in the manual
  • Two 20 L waterproof bags for dual use: inside the panniers or attached on top of them
  • Key-lock anti-theft system, which can be keyed alike with LOBOO aluminium panniers
  • MOLLE system for pouches and accessories, also compatible with mounts from other brands
  • Quick release: the panniers can be removed by hand in a few seconds

Compatibility

The JP071B frame manual lists the BMW R 1200 GS from 2013, R 1200 GS Adventure from 2014, and R 1250 GS and R 1250 GS Adventure from 2019. On R 1200 GS models from before 2013, the rear subframe geometry is different. If you are unsure of the year, send us the registration plate or frame number before ordering.

Installation

No drilling is required. However, the frame manual calls for removing some original components on both sides and around the exhaust, with one part to be refitted after installation: these are reversible operations, with the required hardware and tool included. LOBOO specifies torque settings of 20 N·m for the M8 frame screws and 8 N·m for the M5 pannier-mount screws. All manuals are available in eight languages, including Italian, and can be downloaded from this page.

Key specifications

  • BCB40T pannier, 40 L — 5.9 kg · BCB30T pannier, 30 L — 5.8 kg · 450 × 270 × 400 mm
  • 20 L waterproof bags in TPU and nylon — 400 × 200 × 250 mm, 1 kg each
  • Adjustable quick-release mount for an 18 mm frame tube
  • Weight of panniers and bags: approximately 13.7 kg, excluding the frames

Frame material

Neither the manual nor LOBOO's technical data sheet specifies the material of the JP071B. If you need a definite answer, contact us and we will verify it with the distributor.

Why choose it
  • Complete kit:Panniers, waterproof bags, and Loboo JP071B side frames in a single delivery, without separate purchases.
  • Semi-rigid structure:Protects like a rigid pannier but weighs less and does not permanently dent.
  • IPX6 waterproof rating:Magnetic roll-top and TPU fabric, no rain covers to install in the rain.
  • Engineered asymmetry:The 30 L pannier on the exhaust side keeps the bike narrower in traffic and technical sections.
  • Integrated anti-theft system:Codeable cylinder, unifiable with the key from the LOBOO range.
  • Broad coverage:One kit for R 1200 GS from 2013 and for all R 1250 GS and GS Adventure models.
Who is it recommended for

This kit is the right choice if you identify with one of these profiles:

  • You own an R 1200 GS from 2013 or an R 1250 GSand you're starting from scratch: you don't have any side racks installed yet.
  • You go on multi-day motorcycle toursand you need 110 L that can be organized, not a single undifferentiated compartment.
  • You alternate between asphalt and dirt roadsand you want a shell that absorbs vibrations without deforming.
  • You also use your motorcycle in the cityand you want to be able to detach the panniers in a few seconds when they are not needed.

It is not the right choice if you already have original BMW racks and are looking for panniers to mount on them: Wanderer only works on Loboo racks.

How does it work, in detail?

One order: suitcases, bags, and frames already matched.

One order: suitcases, bags, and frames already matched.

The Wanderer cases do not mount on the original BMW mounts: LOBOO side racks are required and are sold separately. They are already included here in the correct version for your GS—the JP071B, which fit the R 1200 GS from 2013 onward and all R 1250 GS and GS Adventure models.

One order, with no part numbers to cross-check: a 40 L case, a 30 L case, two 20 L waterproof bags, and the racks, for a total capacity of 110 liters.

110 liters, well organized—not just a lot of space

110 liters, well organized—not just a lot of space

The 40 L configuration on the left and 30 L on the right keeps the motorcycle narrower on the exhaust side, where the R 1250 GS already takes up space. The two 20 L waterproof bags complete the kit, bringing the total capacity to 110 L, and help separate the load: dry items on one side, wet or dirty items on the other, without having to empty everything at the end of the stage.

Loboo JP071B Frames: Mounting is part of the product

Loboo JP071B Frames: Mounting is part of the product

The Wanderer cases do not fit the original BMW mounts: they work with Loboo JP071B stainless-steel side frames, designed for the R 1200 GS from 2013 onward and for all R 1250 GS and GS Adventure models.

This combination makes quick release possible: the cases can be removed in just a few seconds when stopping, leaving the motorcycle clean, without protruding brackets.

IPX6: rain is managed, not endured

IPX6: rain is managed, not endured

The fabric is a 0.6 mm 840D mesh-backed composite TPU, secured by a patented magnetic roll-top closure: the manufacturer's stated rating is IPX6, meaning protection against high-pressure water jets. No luggage cover to pull out at the last minute during a downpour.

Under the fabric is a PP support panel with added corner guards: it maintains the shape and protects the corners, which are the first parts to make contact in real-world use.

Lockable closure and MOLLE panels

Lockable closure and MOLLE panels

Each case has a barrel lock on the upper strap. The cylinder can be keyed alike to the same key as LOBOO aluminum cases: if you want them keyed alike, request this when placing your order and specify the key number.

The exterior panels feature MOLLE webbing, also compatible with attachments from other brands: pouches, bottle holders, and accessories can be mounted without drilling or modifying the cases.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Are the side frames included in the price?

Yes. The kit includes LOBOO JP071B stainless steel side frames, as well as the 40 L case, the 30 L case, and the two 20 L waterproof bags. You don't need to purchase anything else to mount the cases.

Is the kit also compatible with the Adventure versions?

Yes. The frame assembly manual lists four models: R 1200 GS from 2013, R 1200 GS Adventure from 2014, R 1250 GS from 2019, and R 1250 GS Adventure from 2019.

The packaging is the same for all four: two components in the parts list are marked ADV in the manual and are specifically for the Adventure versions, so they are already included and nothing needs to be ordered separately.

Are they also compatible with the R 1200 GS?

Yes, for the R 1200 GS and GS Adventure from 2013 onward, as well as all R 1250 GS and GS Adventure models. In this case too, the dedicated Loboo side frames are required.

My 2011 R 1200 GS: is it suitable?

No. The JP071B frames are designed for the R 1200 GS from 2013 onward, meaning the liquid-cooled generation, and for all R 1250 GS and GS Adventure models. The geometry of the rear subframe is different on earlier R 1200 GS models.

If you’re unsure of the exact year, send us the license plate or VIN and we’ll confirm it before purchase.

Can I mount them on the original BMW frames for the R 1250 GS?

No. The Wanderer cases require the dedicated Loboo JP071B side frames: the original BMW mounts have different geometry and center-to-center spacing, so they do not allow quick-release attachment.

If I already have the frames, can I buy just the cases?

Yes. The frame is specific to the motorcycle, but the cases are not: WANDERER cases attach to any frame with an 18 mm diameter tube. On Endurrad, you can also find the cases alone, without frames.

Are the two suitcases identical?

No, they are two separate items with different part numbers in the manual: one left and one right, not interchangeable. In this kit, the left one is 40 liters and the right one is 30 liters.

What is the maximum total load I can carry with this kit?

The kit totals 110 L: a 40 L case, a 30 L case, and two 20 L waterproof bags. However, always comply with the maximum load per side frame specified by BMW in the motorcycle manual.

What is included in the package with each suitcase?

The WANDERER manual lists twelve items for each case. These include: the case itself, the waterproof inner bag, the shoulder strap, the locks and their keys, the T25 Torx key for installing the hardware, and the frame mounting brackets.

What torque should the frame screws be tightened to?

The manual specifies 20 Nm for all M8 screws in the kit, in the three lengths listed in the bill of materials: M8×20, M8×30, and M8×35. A torque wrench is therefore required.

The manual also recommends not fully tightening the screws right away: first position all the parts and check the alignment, then tighten each screw to the specified torque, following the sequence.

Do you need to drill into or modify the motorcycle?

The manual does not indicate any drilling: the frame is attached to the anchoring points already present on the motorcycle.

However, it does require removing some original parts, which the manual itself instructs you to reinstall using the tightening torques specified by the motorcycle manufacturer.

Is the assembly manual in Italian?

Yes. The frame and luggage manuals are published in eight languages, including Italian, with translated warnings and assembly steps illustrated with photographs. The PDF can be downloaded from this page.

Is the product covered by a warranty?

Yes: all LOBOO products sold on Endurrad are covered by the 24-month statutory consumer warranty. In the event of a lack of conformity, we will handle the claim with the manufacturer.
