The BHG-039 is the Barkbusters mounting kit from the Mini range, designed for the Yamaha TT-R90, TT-R110 and TT-R110E mini bikes. It is a two-point mounting kit: the aluminium bar anchors to the handlebar end and to a clamp on the straight section, forming a continuous arch around the hand.
This is not a toy handguard. It is the same heat-treated aluminium structure used on larger bikes, designed for the 22 mm handlebar of the TT-R models. On a bike used by someone who is learning, it makes more sense than anywhere else: learners fall, and when they fall, they put their hands and levers down.
Know this before ordering: the protective plastics are not included, and this kit is compatible with two series, not four.
Pay attention to the plastics: only JET and VPS are compatible here
For kits for larger bikes, Barkbusters lists four compatible series. For this Mini kit, it lists two: JET and VPS. Some foreign retailers also mention STORM, but the manufacturer's official page does not, and we follow that information. If you are interested in a different series, contact us before ordering.

The manufacturer does not specify a year range for these models. Compatibility applies to the bike in its original factory configuration: if a different handlebar has been fitted, verify the mounting before purchasing.

Materials and construction
Heat-treated aluminium bar, dedicated clamps and hardware. The manufacturer does not state the weight and dimensions numerically, and we do not estimate them. We will not speculate about handlebar weights: the documentation for this kit does not mention them, and the complete parts list is in the official instructions attached to the product page.
Installation
- Verify that the bike is a TT-R90, TT-R110 or TT-R110E with the original 22 mm handlebar.
- Clear the handlebar ends of any factory-fitted components.
- Fit the clamp to the straight section of the handlebar, in front of the controls, without fully tightening it.
- Attach the aluminium bar to the handlebar end and the clamp, then position it.
- Fit the JET or VPS plastics you selected, align them and tighten them to the torque settings specified by the manufacturer.
- Check the throttle, front brake and clutch, and make sure the steering turns freely from lock to lock, then check the tightness again after the first 50 km.
The torque settings and complete sequence are provided in the official INS-BHG-039-NP instructions, attached to this product page and supplied with the kit. The manufacturer considers handguard installation a safety-critical procedure, to be entrusted to a technician if you are not experienced: on a bike ridden by a young rider, this advice is doubly important.

The protective plastics, which must be ordered separately: JET-003 or VPS-203. For this Mini kit, the STORM, CARBON and EGO series are not listed as compatible.

I installed the JADO S6 on my BMW GS (non-"dedicated" version), and although I don't use the BMW base, the display and features are still top notch. The bag is of excellent quality and comes with all the necessary straps and a shoulder strap. The two methods of attaching it to the motorcycle are well designed and offer a range of options. I will also buy the larger model.
