Pair of LED indicators for handguards, version dedicated to the R 1300 GS

All you need to know before ordering

Technical specifications, equipment, delivery, and warranty: find every detail, verified against official LOBOO documentation, below.

Description LOBOO CZXD131 – LED Turn Signals for BMW R 1300 GS Handguards

Pair of LOBOO amber LED turn signals in the version designed for the BMW R 1300 GS from 2023 onward, to be integrated into the handguard body. Four LEDs per turn signal.

First and foremost: they can only be installed on LOBOO handguards. The manufacturer sells them as an option for its handguard system, and the mounting position is built into the handguard body: there is nowhere to install them on original BMW handguards or handguards from other brands. The handguards are not included in this product.

Why choose the dedicated version instead of the universal one

On the R 1300 GS, the front turn signals are integrated into the headlight assembly rather than mounted on a separate stalk, as is the case on many other motorcycles. LOBOO therefore produces two separate kits: the CZXD081 is intended for installation in the standard turn-signal positions, while the CZXD131 is the version specifically designed for the architecture of the new GS.

The manufacturer expressly recommends the dedicated version for the R 1300 GS to preserve the functionality of the original turn signals. The mechanism that makes this possible is not documented in LOBOO's technical specifications, so we report the manufacturer's recommendation without attempting to explain it. The practical visible difference is in the wiring: here, the adapter cable ends in a connector, whereas on the universal version it ends in bare wires.

What you need to know before ordering

  • You need LOBOO handguards already installed, or ordered together with this kit
  • The handguards are not included: this product is the turn-signal kit only
  • If you have an R 1300 GS Adventure, contact us before ordering. LOBOO's documentation is inconsistent for this model: the handguard compatibility charts, which are a prerequisite for installing the turn signals, list the R 1300 GS but not the Adventure. We will verify this with the distributor and confirm it for you
  • Connection to the electrical system must be carried out by the installer, and LOBOO does not provide a wiring diagram
  • LOBOO does not declare the voltage, current draw, connector type, dimensions, weight, IP rating, or road homologation. If you need this information before purchasing, contact us and we will request it from the distributor

Usage limitations

Turn signals are mandatory signaling devices subject to regulations. In the absence of a declaration of homologation from the manufacturer, responsibility for the vehicle's compliance after the modification remains with the person using it. If the turn signals flash faster than normal after installation, this is generally due to a load issue in the electrical system and must be resolved.

Data declared by LOBOO in the product's official documentation. Where the manufacturer does not declare a value, we indicate it as not declared rather than estimating it.

Why choose it
Who is it recommended for

Documents and manufacturer

In inglese: Turning Lights of the Hand Guard.

  • Codice prodotto: CZXD131
  • SKU produttore: 11.3.34131.001.11

What you need to know before ordering

Four LEDs per side, and a Y-harness ready to go

Four LEDs per side, and a Y-harness ready to go

The package contains two LED modules, right and left, with four amber LEDs each. Each module has preinstalled wiring ending in a two-pin connector, and the kit also includes a Y-cable that combines the two terminals into a single connector.

The indicator housing itself is not modified: the module is fitted into the handguard housing and connected. However, LOBOO does not specify the connector type or provide a wiring diagram, and the available manual covers only the handguards; connecting it to the electrical system is left to the installer.

Recessed, not wall-mounted

Recessed, not wall-mounted

The module fits into the lower edge of the handguard and remains flush with the profile: it does not protrude, has no visible brackets, and adds nothing that could snag or break in a side fall.

This is also why these indicators exist only for LOBOO handguards: the mounting recess is built into the handguard body, and without it there is no way to install them.

You can tell where the person next to you is looking

You can tell where the person next to you is looking

With the indicator on, the four amber LEDs form a line along the edge of the handguard, at hand level. It is the motorcycle’s outermost point after the mirrors, and in traffic it is the first thing that enters the field of vision of someone beside you.

A stalk-mounted indicator, on the other hand, sits behind the handlebar line, often obscured by the rider’s leg or the luggage. The difference is not light output but position, and that is what matters when you change lanes.

The light comes out from the handguard’s edge, not from a stem.

The light comes out from the handguard’s edge, not from a stem.

Once installation is complete, the module is recessed into the handguard body, and the amber light emerges from the lower edge. There is no protruding housing, exposed bracket, or anything that could snag or break in a sideways fall.

Position matters more than it may seem: an indicator integrated into the handguard sits farther out and higher than one mounted on the stem, so it enters the field of view of someone riding alongside you in a line sooner.

Why the dedicated version and not the universal one?

Why the dedicated version and not the universal one?

On the R 1300 GS, the front turn signals are integrated into the headlight assembly rather than mounted on a separate stalk, as they are on many other motorcycles. LOBOO produces two distinct kits specifically for this reason: the CZXD081 is intended for installation in the standard turn-signal positions, while this CZXD131 is the version specifically designed for the new GS’s architecture.

The manufacturer expressly recommends the dedicated version for R 1300 GS owners to preserve the functionality of the original turn signals. The mechanism by which it does so is not documented, so we report this recommendation without explaining it.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

Will they fit on my handguards?

Only if they are LOBOO handguards. The manufacturer sells these indicators exclusively as an option for its own handguard system, and the mounting point is integrated into the handguard body itself: original BMW handguards or those from other brands have nowhere to mount them. The product code confirms this too, sharing the same root as the CHS081 handguards. This is the most important thing to check before ordering.

Are handguards included in the price?

No. This item is only the turn signal kit, a pair. LOBOO handguards are purchased separately and are required for installation.

What’s the difference between the CZXD131 and the CZXD081?

The CZXD081 is the universal version, designed for installation in standard turn-signal positions. The CZXD131 is the version specifically designed for the R 1300 GS, which has the front turn signals integrated into the headlight assembly. The manufacturer expressly recommends the dedicated version for those with the new GS, to preserve the functionality of the original turn signals. They cost the same.

Will I lose the motorcycle’s original turn signals?

According to LOBOO, no, and that is precisely why this dedicated version exists instead of the universal one. However, the manufacturer does not document how it achieves this, so we do not explain the mechanism; we report the information as provided. If this is a decisive factor in your purchase, write to us and we will verify it with the distributor before you place the order.

What color is the light?

Ambra, as required for the direction indicators. LOBOO describes them as high-brightness LEDs, but does not state the number of LEDs per indicator or any photometric values.

Are they approved for road use?

LOBOO does not declare any approval for this item, and since no such information is available, we do not publish one. Turn signals are devices subject to regulations: if you need confirmation of approval, ask us before ordering and we will forward the question to the distributor.

How much power do they draw? Do they require additional resistors?

Each indicator comes with wiring already installed, ending in a two-way connector, and the kit also includes a Y-cable that brings the two terminals together into a single connector: you do not need to modify the modules. What LOBOO does not specify is the rest—operating voltage, power consumption, and connector type do not appear in any documentation, and the manual provided covers only the handguards. We therefore cannot tell you whether your motorcycle’s electrical system requires resistors or a control unit. If this is important to you, ask us and we will verify it with the distributor before you order.

Can I assemble them myself?

Installation into the handguard body is mechanical, but connecting it to the electrical system is the installer's responsibility, and LOBOO does not provide a wiring diagram. If you're not familiar with your motorcycle's electrical system, it's best to rely on a workshop: a mistake involving a signaling device is more than just an inconvenience.

Are they rainproof?

They are components designed to be mounted externally on handguards, but LOBOO does not specify an IP rating for this item, so we do not publish one. It is one of the details we are requesting from the distributor.

Will they also fit the R 1300 GS Adventure?

The manufacturer’s documentation is inconsistent on this point, and we prefer to be upfront with you. LOBOO identifies this code as the version for the R 1300 GS; on the handguard system page, it indicates compatibility with the R 1300 GS and Adventure, while the compatibility panels for the CHS081 handguards, which are required to install the turn signals, list the R 1300 GS but not the Adventure.

If you have a GS Adventure, write to us before ordering: we’ll check with the distributor and confirm compatibility. We don’t want you to receive a part that you’re unable to install.
