Pair of LOBOO amber LED turn signals, designed to be integrated into the handguard bodies. They move the signal to hand height, at the motorcycle’s outermost point: that is where the rider alongside you sees it, rather than behind the handlebar line. Four LEDs per turn signal.

First and foremost: they can only be mounted on LOBOO handguards. The mounting recess is built into the handguard body, so there is nowhere to install them on an original handguard or one from another brand. The handguards are not included with this item: they are the LOBOO aluminum handguards for BMW GS, or the versions for KTM, CFMOTO, Benelli, and Triumph.

What “universal” really means

It does not mean that they can be mounted on any handguard, but that they are intended for motorcycles with turn signals in the standard positions. This is the difference from the CZXD131, which LOBOO makes for the BMW R 1300 GS: that motorcycle has front turn signals integrated into the headlight assembly and requires the dedicated version.

If you have an R 1300 GS, the other code is the correct one. They cost the same, so there is no reason to choose this one to save money.

How they are mounted

The manual describes four steps. You drill the handguard with an 8.5 mm bit at the indicated position and route the cable from the front, following the groove already formed in the handguard body. Clean the area with the supplied alcohol wipe, remove the protective film, and attach the module in the designated recess. Connect the connectors and wire the harness to the motorcycle’s original turn-signal wires, then seal the connections with electrical tape.

This is where this version differs from the dedicated one: that version has a plug connection, whereas this one is spliced to loose wires, and the correct cables must be identified on the motorcycle’s wiring system. Two warnings before ordering: the drilling is permanent and affects the handguard, not the motorcycle; the adhesive reaches its final hold after 24 hours.

Usage limitations

Turn signals are mandatory signaling devices subject to regulations. In the absence of a manufacturer’s declaration of approval, responsibility for the vehicle’s compliance after the modification remains with the person using it. The manual requires connection to the original turn-signal wires, but does not specify whether the original signals should be retained or removed: this is the installer’s decision and must be made in compliance with the number and positions required by law. If the signals flash faster than normal after installation, this is generally a load-related issue in the electrical system and must be resolved.

LOBOO says little about this product: we report what is available and are transparent about what is missing, rather than filling the gaps with estimates.

The manual’s parts list includes four items: a left indicator, a right indicator, two extension cables, and two alcohol wipes for preparing the surface before bonding. Each module comes with the wiring already installed, with male and female connectors equipped with anti-vibration silicone.

The connection is made to the indicator’s original wires, which must be spliced and then sealed with electrical tape, as specified in the manual. This is the practical difference from the dedicated CZXD131 version, which instead has a plug-in connection: here, the correct wires must be identified in your motorcycle’s wiring system.

The manual marks with the letter A the point where the handguard should be drilled, and with the letter B the groove already made in the handguard body through which the cable will run. Use an 8.5 mm drill bit and feed the turn signal cable from the front side inward.

This is the part of the job to do carefully: use the position shown in the drawing, and the hole will remain even if you remove the turn signals in the future. The modification concerns the handguard, not the motorcycle.

The letter C indicates the mounting position on the lower edge of the handguard. Clean the area with the provided alcohol wipe, since the adhesive will not hold on a dusty or greasy surface, remove the protective film, align the module, and press firmly.

The manufacturer asks you to wait 24 hours before considering the adhesion permanent. It is worth observing this period: it is the step that determines whether the turn signal will stay in place.

The letter D follows the cable route inside the handguard, pressed into the designated grooves; the letter E is the bare-wire terminal, to be connected to the motorcycle’s original indicator wires. The manual then asks you to seal the connections with electrical tape.

This is the practical difference from the version dedicated to the R 1300 GS, which instead has a plug connector. Here, the correct wires must be identified on your own motorcycle’s wiring system: the modules have reverse-polarity protection, but the work remains the installer’s responsibility.

Once installation is complete, the module is recessed into the handguard body, with the amber light emerging from the lower edge. There is no protruding housing or exposed bracket—nothing that could snag or break in a sideways fall.

Position matters more than it may seem. An indicator integrated into the handguard sits farther out and higher than one on the fairing, so it enters the field of view of someone riding alongside you in traffic sooner. That is the practical reason these kits exist.

LOBOO designs these indicators as an accessory for its aluminum handguards, not as a standalone product: this is also confirmed by the SKU, which shares its root with that of the CHS081 handguards. That is why the mounting point is already integrated into the handguard body, and installation requires no brackets.

The dedicated manual specifies the electrical parameters and the complete installation sequence. The IP rating, approval, dimensions, and weight, however, are not stated: they are listed as such in the technical data sheet rather than being concealed.

I have a BMW R 1300 GS: will these fit?

No, for the R 1300 GS, the manufacturer specifies the dedicated CZXD131 version. The modules operate at constant current and have reverse-polarity protection, which matters more on this version than on the other one: here, you work with loose wires, so it is easier to reverse them.

If the flashing is faster than normal after installation, it is the classic sign of a load lower than what the control unit expects: it can be resolved, but it needs to be resolved. LOBOO does not indicate which motorcycles require it, so we do not claim that they do.
