The 20-liter LOBOO rear bag (code BWB20PBK) solves the most annoying problem with dry bags: opening and closing them with gloves on. The roll-top has a magnetic strip embedded in the opening, covered by utility model patent ZL 2019 2 1740293.1: the two flaps align themselves, then it rolls up three times and closes with the two buckles.

It's the right size for a daily commute and short weekend trips, not for multi-day travel. Measuring 420 × 240 × 220 mm, it's light on the tail and attaches in seconds with the four quick-release straps included, to the seat, tail, or luggage rack: no need to buy anything else.

Why magnetic and not velcro or zipper

Velcro damages technical clothing fabrics and loses grip with use; zippers jam and age poorly. The magnetic strip has no hooked surfaces, does not wear out, and maintains the same hold over time.

If you need more volume, the ALPS 46 L is IPX7 with an included hydration pack, and the Wanderer 50L is the choice for long trips.

The problem with every waterproof bag is always the same: closing it properly while wearing gloves, perhaps in the rain and in a hurry. Here, the roll-top opening has a magnetic strip embedded in the fabric: bring the two flaps together and they align themselves, without having to hold them in place with your fingers.

Cheap waterproof bags close in two ways, and neither ages well. Velcro has a hooked surface that catches on technical clothing and damages it, and it loses its grip as it fills with dirt and fibers. Waterproof zippers are stiff, jam, and dry out over time.

The magnet has no surfaces that wear out: it doesn't catch on fabrics, doesn't collect dirt, and its holding power remains the same after months of daily use. You notice the difference most when you open and close the bag twice a day.

The body is made of eco-friendly PVC laminated with polyester: odorless, smooth, and causing water to run off instead of being absorbed. The stated rating is IPX6, meaning protection against high-pressure water jets: heavy rain, splashes from trucks, and washing the motorcycle.

IPX6 does not cover immersion, which is the next level. For use in the city and on weekends, you do not need more: what matters is rolling the roll-top closed for three full turns and fastening both buckles before setting off.

When you roll and close it, air remains inside. With the bag half empty, this creates a bloated volume that the straps cannot secure: it starts out firmly in place, but after twenty kilometers you can feel it shifting behind your back.

The side valve removes excess air once the bag is sealed. The load compacts, the profile becomes lower, and the straps regain their grip on a rigid volume. The fabric is ripstop, with a manufacturer-stated resistance of up to 200 kg.

On the motorcycle, it is a saddlebag secured with four quick-release straps. Undo those, and the included detachable shoulder strap turns it into a shoulder bag, or you can grab the top handle and carry it by hand.

That is why it works well for commuting: you arrive, unclip it, and walk into the office with the same bag. No need to transfer anything, and whatever you had inside stays dry even while crossing the parking lot in the rain.

Is the magnetic closure really patented?

Yes. LOBOO claims utility model patent No. ZL 2019 2 1740293.1 for the magnetic strip embedded in the roll-top opening. In practice, the two flaps align themselves when brought together: then you roll it three times and fasten the two buckles without having to remove your gloves.

Do you need a rack to mount it?

No. The package includes four LOBOO quick-release straps that attach it directly to the existing seat, tail section, or luggage rack. You don’t need elastic straps, cargo nets, or adapters purchased separately. If you already have a luggage rack, you can use it as a support surface, but it isn’t necessary.

How much space is needed behind the saddle?

The base measures 42 × 24 cm and is 22 cm high. You therefore need a support area of at least 42 × 24 cm and four points through which to pass the straps. Pay attention to the height: once loaded, make sure it does not cover the brake light, especially on scooters and naked bikes with short tails.

What is the difference between IPX6 and IPX7 for ALPS bags?

Can I load 200 kg onto it?

No, that's a common misconception. The 200 kg refers to the stated strength of the fabric—how much it can withstand before tearing. The load you can actually place behind the seat is determined by the motorcycle or scooter manufacturer, and is almost always just a few kilograms on the tail and 5–10 kg on a luggage rack.

Can it also be used outside the motorcycle?

Yes, the detachable shoulder strap is included. Unclip the straps and carry it over your shoulder or by hand: it is designed specifically for people who arrive at the office or gym and do not want to transfer their belongings to another bag.
