How is it mounted on the helmet?

The speakers fit into the recesses next to the ears, beneath the cheek pads, and the control unit attaches to the shell with the quick-release mount. No tools are needed and nothing needs to be drilled; the speaker cable should be routed beneath the padding.

What warranty does it have?

What is the difference compared with the R1M intercom?

They are two different products. The R1M is an intercom with a mesh network for up to 24 riders, designed for groups. The R1X is a Bluetooth headset for music, navigation, and phone calls, with larger drivers and the option to detach it from the helmet. If your concern is talking with the group, look at the R1M; if it is hearing well, choose this one.

The manufacturer does not indicate a dedicated app: the earpiece pairs via Bluetooth like any ordinary headphones and is controlled using the buttons on the unit.

The problem with helmet earbuds isn’t the volume: at 130 km/h, the wind devours the bass and leaves you with a metallic voice. Here, the drivers are 45 mm, with a PET diaphragm and neodymium magnets—the same size found in listening headphones, not the usual 40 mm used in motorcycle earbuds.

The chip is Bluetooth 5.2 and supports a simultaneous connection to two phones, useful if you have navigation on one and calls on the other. The 800 mAh battery is rated for up to 30 hours of music, 22 hours of talk time, and twenty days on standby: with four hours of riding a day, you recharge it once a week. The microphone uses CVC noise cancellation, which works on engine rumble and wind noise while you speak.

Montaggio e requisiti

Come si monta

Istruzioni complete e note di sicurezza

Prima di incollare la base, il manuale chiede di piegarla leggermente in senso contrario, così che il biadesivo aderisca bene alla curvatura del guscio. Una volta attaccata, la base va lasciata ferma 24 ore: è il tempo che serve all'adesivo per tenere davvero.

L'unità principale si aggancia alla base inserendo prima il lato sinistro in diagonale nella sede, poi premendo il destro fino allo scatto. Per toglierla si preme il pulsante sul lato destro della base e l'unità si sfila da sola: è il gesto che permette di portarla via dal casco in un secondo.

Gli altoparlanti vanno negli alloggiamenti accanto alle orecchie, con i velcri e gli spessori in dotazione per avvicinarli quando il casco lascia troppo spazio. Il microfono esiste in due versioni, una morbida su braccetto e una rigida: si sceglie in base al tipo di casco, integrale o modulare.

Avvertenze d'uso dichiarate dal produttore

Non tirare con forza il cavo durante l'installazione: si danneggiano i circuiti interni.
Usare il caricabatterie originale o uno certificato.
Se resta inutilizzato a lungo, ricaricarlo periodicamente per evitare la scarica profonda.
Tenere il telefono entro 10 metri per una connessione stabile.
Stare lontani da apparecchi che disturbano il segnale Bluetooth, come router e forni a microonde.
Pulire con panno morbido e detergente neutro: vietati liquidi acidi o alcalini.
Usare e conservare fra -20 e +65 °C.
Evitare l'uso prolungato ad alto volume, per non danneggiare l'udito.
Richiudere bene il tappo in silicone della presa dopo la ricarica: è quello che tiene l'IP67.
L'uso di auricolari alla guida è regolato dal Codice della Strada: il volume va tenuto in modo da percepire il traffico e i mezzi di emergenza.

Non c'è nulla da verificare sulla moto: conta il casco. Il sistema è universale e si adatta a integrali, modulari e jet, purché ci sia spazio per gli altoparlanti negli alloggiamenti accanto alle orecchie.

It is a universal system: the unit attaches to the helmet shell, and the speakers go into the cheek-pad compartments. It works with full-face, modular, and open-face helmets as long as there is space for the speakers; on helmets without dedicated recesses, the padding can be reduced or another placement can be considered.

Is it really noticeable at highway speeds?

That’s why it uses 45 mm drivers instead of the usual 40 mm ones: more surface area means more bass, which is the first thing the wind drowns out. The manufacturer claims distortion-free bass even at highway speeds. That said, a noisy helmet and earplugs can significantly affect the result.

How long does the battery last?
