Why choose it
  • Coherent aesthetics:vintage finish for roadsters, scramblers, and classic touring bikes, where a technical dry bag would look out of place.
  • 40 L of real capacity:for clothing and travel gear.
  • Rain cover included:protects the contents in case of sudden downpours.
  • Universal fastening:on the seat, luggage rack, or on top of side cases.
  • Organized interior:pockets and mesh compartments, glove-friendly zippers, compression straps.
Who is it recommended for

It's the right choice if:

  • You have a roadster, scrambler, or classic touring bike and aesthetics matter as much as function
  • You travel on roads where the rain cover is sufficient
  • You want an organized interior with pockets, not a single undifferentiated compartment

Please note:This is not a dry bag. If you need structural waterproofing without covers, consider the 40L Waterproof roll-top or the ALPS 46L IPX7.

What does it look like in detail?

Forty liters that stay true to the motorcycle’s lines

Forty liters that stay true to the motorcycle’s lines

On a scrambler or a classic bike, luggage is an aesthetic issue before it is a practical one: a black TPU technical bag strapped behind the seat erases the work of whoever designed the motorcycle.

This bag solves the problem with waxed canvas, leather-look PU, and brass-colored hardware. Forty liters of genuine capacity, in a shape that looks as though it has always belonged on the tail of a Scrambler 1200.

The magnetic closure is a LOBOO patent.

The magnetic closure is a LOBOO patent.

It’s not a marketing detail: LOBOO has registered the magnetic roll-up closure system as a utility model, patent number ZL 2019 2 1740293.1.

The magnets are embedded in the opening edge. Roll the edge onto itself and the closure fastens automatically, without aligning or inserting anything—it even works while wearing winter gloves.

Why not a zipper, why not Velcro

Why not a zipper, why not Velcro

It’s the comparison the manufacturer itself makes with the two most widely used solutions on the market. A zipper on a rolled opening is cumbersome to operate, and over the years it becomes stiff and gives way.

Velcro has an even worse drawback: the hook side catches on fabrics and damages sleeves when you brush against it, and it loses its grip with every opening. Magnets have no surfaces that wear down through friction and don’t snag anything.

Custom-made canvas, not just any canvas

Custom-made canvas, not just any canvas

The fabric is a specially developed polyester-cotton blend, with the faded, worn-in effect that canvas usually acquires after years. Here, it’s there from day one—and it’s intentional.

The manufacturer states that it is resistant to abrasion, scratches, insects, and aging. The bag’s overall composition is 45% polyester, 40% polyethylene, and 15% polyurethane.

Textured PU with oil-finished edges

Textured PU with oil-finished edges

Straps, reinforcements, loops, and handles are made of polyurethane crafted to imitate leather, with edges finished with oil as is customary in leatherworking.

The manufacturer chooses it for its resistance to abrasion and scratches, but the reason it stands out is different: it is the detail that distinguishes a bag that looks like disguised technical gear from one that looks like it was designed that way.

Two external pockets, front and back

Two external pockets, front and back

One pocket on the front and one on the back, both with a flap and snap button. They are sized to hold a wallet, documents, keys, and a phone.

The idea is that you don’t have to unroll the magnetic closure of the main compartment every time you need something small. At the gas station, at the café, or at document checks: just open the flap.

Brass-colored alloy buckles

Brass-colored alloy buckles

D-rings, buckles, and snap buttons are made of brass-colored alloy, which the manufacturer claims is corrosion-resistant. On a bag that lives outdoors, the hardware is what gives the game away first, with rust running onto the light-colored fabric.

They are also the detail that sets the tone for the whole design: brass against black canvas is an explicit nod to old-fashioned travel luggage.

Get off the motorcycle and it becomes a travel duffel bag.

Get off the motorcycle and it becomes a travel duffel bag.

The single shoulder strap is detachable, and the two handles are padded PU, designed not to dig into your hand when carrying a load.

That’s the practical difference between a motorcycle bag and this one: you detach it, take it to a hotel or a friend’s house, and it doesn’t look like technical gear dragged indoors. It looks like a travel bag, because that’s what it is.

Two documented fastening methods

Two documented fastening methods

In both methods, start by attaching points C of the quick-release straps to the four anchors on the sides of the tail. Then choose whether to connect point A to the quick-release buckle on the bag’s body or thread points A and B through the retaining straps and tie the bag on directly.

Two manufacturer warnings worth bearing in mind: keep the attachment points away from the exhaust, and gather and secure any excess webbing with the Velcro, as it could otherwise get caught in the wheel or chain in the wind.

Three maintenance rules, and why

Three maintenance rules, and why

The manufacturer makes the validity of the warranty conditional on three requirements: avoiding prolonged exposure to sun and rain, preventing mold and oxidation caused by damp environments, and following the washing label sewn onto the product.

That is the downside of waxed canvas, and we prefer to say so before purchase. The fabric is waterproof and the magnetic closure holds, but this is not a TPU dry bag that can be left outside in the rain for weeks: after a storm, it must be dried and stored somewhere dry. If your motorcycle stays outdoors year-round, a different choice is the right one.

FAQs

For more information, please see our FAQ.

How does the magnetic closure work?

The opening edge has magnets embedded in the fabric. Roll the edge back on itself, and the magnets snap together automatically, keeping the roll closed. This is a system that LOBOO patented as a utility model, number ZL 2019 2 1740293.1. It also works with gloves because there is nothing to insert or align.

Why magnets instead of a hinge or Velcro?

The comparison is made by the manufacturer itself. The zipper is awkward to operate on a rolled opening, and over the years it becomes stiff and fails. Velcro, with its hook side, catches on and damages fabrics when you run your sleeve over it, and it loses grip with every cycle. Magnets have no parts that wear down through friction and do not snag clothing.

Is it waterproof?

The manufacturer states that the fabric is waterproof and has a magnetic roll-top closure, but does not certify any IP rating, so we prefer to say that rather than assign one. In practice, the waxed canvas withstands rain during a commute, but it is not a TPU dry bag and should not be left outside in the rain for days. The manufacturer also states this in the care instructions.

What maintenance does it require?

The manufacturer specifies three conditions on which the validity of the warranty depends: avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and rain, prevent mold and oxidation caused by damp environments, and follow the instructions on the care label sewn onto the product. In practice: dry it after a storm, and don't leave it fitted on the motorcycle outdoors all winter.

What material is it made of?

The stated composition is 45% polyester, 40% polyethylene, and 15% polyurethane. The body is a custom-made waxed canvas in a polyester-cotton blend with a retro effect; flaps, reinforcements, and handles are made of leather-effect polyurethane, with oil-finished edges. Buckles and buttons are made of brass-colored alloy.

How is it attached to the motorcycle?

With LOBOO quick-release straps, in two methods documented by the manufacturer. In both methods, first attach the straps’ C points to the four anchors on the sides of the tail. In the first method, connect point A to the bag’s quick-release buckle; in the second, pass points A and B through the bag’s retaining straps. The manufacturer recommends keeping the attachment points away from the exhaust and securing any excess webbing so it does not get caught in the wheel or chain.

Are there pockets? And where?

Two external pockets, one at the front and one at the back, with a flap and snap button. They are sized for a wallet, documents, keys, and phone—things you want to reach without unrolling the closure of the main compartment.

How much fits inside?

Forty liters in a 55 × 30 × 25 centimeter body, plus two external pockets for small items. In terms of scale, it is luggage for four or five days. The manufacturer does not state a maximum load: the practical limit is the one indicated in the motorcycle manual for the rear seat or luggage rack.

Can it also be used outside the motorcycle?

Yes, and that’s one of the reasons it’s designed that way. It has a detachable single shoulder strap and two PU handles: once you get off the motorcycle, it becomes a presentable travel bag that you can carry into a hotel without looking like technical gear.

Does the canvas wear out or fade?

The manufacturer states that the canvas is resistant to abrasion, scratches, insects, and aging. The distressed effect is intentional and part of the design: the bag is made with that faded appearance. The care conditions remain those indicated by the manufacturer and are also necessary to keep the warranty valid.

What motorcycle does it look good on?

It’s a universal product, so technically it fits any motorcycle with four mounting points on the sides of the tail. The point, however, is aesthetic: it was designed for roadsters, scramblers, café racers, and classic bikes, where a black TPU technical bag clashes with the lines. It works just as well on a modern adventure bike, but the overall visual impact is different.

Are the securing straps included?

The manufacturer documents installation using its own quick-release straps, but the documentation does not specify whether they are included in the package. Write to us before ordering if you need them: we will check the actual package contents and, if they are missing, tell you which ones to get.

Is this one better, or the BWB40T in TPU?

Same capacity, opposite philosophies. The BWB40T is made of IPX7-certified TPU with a waterproof zipper: it’s the choice if your bike lives outdoors and you ride through any weather. This one is made of waxed canvas with a patented magnetic closure: it protects against rain but requires care, and in return offers a look that TPU can’t give a scrambler or a classic. The real question isn’t which is better, but whether your bike sleeps under cover.
